12.01.2022 I often hear clients tell me they are cutting carbs to lose weight and my response is always "why the fuck would you do that???" Carbs are your body's energy source! If you were driving interstate you wouldn't empty the tank before you leave! Instead of "cutting carbs" try cutting sugars and saturated fats. Leave the low GI carbs in, consume ~2gm per kg of bodyweight in protein and then smash every training session like your life depended on it. That's how you get shredded.

09.01.2022 Do you need post-workout protein? The anabolic window - the 30-60 mins after a workout used to be bodybuilding lore, an unquestioned rule of hypertrophy. However recent research shows that if you are adequately consuming protein throughout the day and especially if you have consumed protein 2 hours prior to a workout then you don’t need to worry about your post-workout shake. Consume ~2gm of protein per kg of body weight a day and you can throw away those expensive protein powders. However, if you aren’t consuming enough protein and especially if you haven’t consumed any within two hours prior to training then the anabolic window still applies.
