24.01.2022 I first met the Hazmat boys when they came to Newcastle to play one of my shows back in 2011. I instantly loved these guys, not just as musicians, but as the genuine, down to earth, awesome guys they are. You won't find four better guys in a band these days who will just want to sit around just drink beers and talk all night! They're really serious about their music, but boy do they know how to party! I've played on many many bills around the state with them since 2011, but b...elow is just three of the old bills I've helped promote over the years. Their music may have some very deep rooted Megadeth influences, but if you listen closely you can really pick the Australian thrash influence they've helped to pioneer in this country. When I was planning the gig this Saturday night, they were one of the first bands I wanted on the bill, and I'm so glad they were able to lineup their schedules and come for the big send off! Don't forget to check them out this Saturday night at The Vault. You won't be sorry! https://www.facebook.com/events/1614622572132392/

21.01.2022 Incarnated in early 2003, Aeturnus Dominion have become a solid force within the ever growing Aussie metal scene. Self described as ‘Brutal Aussie Bastard Metal’, Aeturnus Dominion incorporate a hybrid meshing of death, thrash, black and old school metal to create an aural onslaught of original brutality. Aeturnus Dominion has supported international bands, Disgorge (US), Dawn of Azazel (NZ), Profanation (Germany), Defiled (Japan) as well as traveling 'round Australia on the... Road Rage Tour supporting Nervecell (UAE) in May/April 2007. Things have been less than favourable since the tour with the band plagued by constant line up changes since late 2007. 2014 saw what the band agree is the line up that was meant to be. Featuring Ian Tomlinson [lead vocals], Ted Foster [guitar & vocals], Tait Kristen [bass & vocals] and Steve Austin [drums], the band released their long awaited, and overdue, third album ONE KILL SLAUGHTERHOUSE for Worldwide digital download. You can grab a copy from Bandcamp now. http://aeturnusdominion.bandcamp.com Catch them at The Vault March 13th, w/ The Dirac Sea, Billabong Of Blood and BY THE HORNS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6mnXWt98Ps

19.01.2022 Newcastle's very own PurEnvY have been accepted to compete for a spot at Legion Music Fest in 2017! We couldn't think of a more worthy up and coming band from Newcastle to represent Newcastle! Check out the link below and help these guys secure a spot!... And while you're at it, why not support the World's very first fully crowd funded music festival. For just a small price (peanuts compared to other "festivals"!), you get some awesome special inclusions and you'll be helping keep heavy music festivals alive and pumping in Australia! \m/

14.01.2022 After much thought and contemplation, it's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that The Vault shows up until the end of the year will be my last. Unfortunately life takes it's twists and turns on all of us at times, and whilst I've been trying to keep pushing through until things become good again, I find myself not being able to dedicate the time, or resources, to The Vault that I know these events truly deserve. Make no mistake, I love booking shows. I've been doing ...it since 2006 and I'm proud to say that I've kept true to my ethos and morals the whole way through. Sure, there have been some hiccups along the way, as there always is in anything we do as humans, but I know in my heart that I can honestly say I've given it a red hot crack, and I've had an absolute ball doing it along the way. I've met some amazing bands, both local and international, and worked with some great people at the venues I've booked. But the biggest delight of all, was always seeing the enjoyment people got out of coming to the gigs I put on. That's why I started it in the beginning, to put on friends bands so their friends could come and enjoy themselves and the music they loved. So to you guys, I say my biggest thank you. Keep a look out on the page over the next few months, I'll be sharing some memories from the past 8 years on there, and don't forget to make it to one of the final shows at The Vault for this year. Thanks and Rock on \m/ Ian

14.01.2022 Over the years one of the bands who have supported MetalCastle gigs the most has been Grim Demise. These guys have been around longer than I have been doing gigs, and are one of the reasons I started doing this. So my friends bands had somewhere to be able to play to their friends and have fun doing it! Here is a small collection of flyers from gigs the Grim Demise boys have played on over the years. This weekend they headline my last show, and I couldn't ask for a better loc...al band to be doing it. Thanks for all the years boys! https://www.facebook.com/events/1614622572132392/ See more

09.01.2022 These guys from the Gold Coast hit us up for a gig in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago. Loving their sound! What do you think? https://www.facebook.com/nescientgc

08.01.2022 ***DRUMMER WANTED*** Osmium Grid are on the look out for a drummer with a passion for heavy music, headbanging, and having a good laugh at the world. This doesn't have to be a full time, full commitment role, as we understand the pressures of day-to-day life all too well.... Ideally we're looking for someone to contribute to some recordings of new and old tracks, and one or two live opportunities throughout the year. Our influences are in old school thrash, groove, and grind, with a deep love of bands like Hypocrisy, Kreator, Exodus, Cannibal Corpse, Psycroptic and many many more, but your influences do not have to define you as long as you have a love for heavy music. As most of our back catalogue is made up of quirky timing and blast beats, the ability to play double kick and blast is a must. If you think you might be interested in joining us for a jam, please get in touch with us through our Facebook page www.facebook.com/osmiumgrid

06.01.2022 That's right Newcastle Maniacs! Just announced! ELM STREET are coming to Newcastle July 11! Stay tuned for details and supports soon!
