25.01.2022 From ILO introduction to work study. Basic needs: 1) Food 2) Clothing 3) Shelter... 4) Security 5) Health and Essential services. To provide and sustain , need to improve the productivity of: 1) Land and Buildings 2) Materials 3) Energy 4) Machines and Equipment 5) Human Resources Engineering is fundamentally about maximising the benefit from the available but otherwise limited resources.

23.01.2022 Experimenting with fiverr: painful. Poorly designed user interface, and drop down lists populated by the illiterate or poor typists. Data fields also seem too short. So some work to do to squeeze a round peg into a square hole. https://www.fiverr.com/metamorphs96

22.01.2022 It seems in New Zealand dont have to buy solar panels. Consider that solar panels are part of the energy generation infrastructure. So why cannot the Australian power companies install and retain ownership of the solar panels? Consider the mobile phone industry. They lease roof space on multi-storey buildings to install their antennas {apparently only insects have antennae.}... So the power industry instead of building wind farms could pay businesses with large roof areas a fee to install and use their structure for support of solar panels. Using the roofs of large industrial buildings likely to add more power generation in a short time than a few house hold roofs. {Note a lot of industrial buildings are built on a whim and hopeful expectation that can lease the building space. Which often is not realised, so solar panels would be putting the structures to work. No power use by people in the buildings as many are unused and empty.}

21.01.2022 Finally created a gig on fiverr. Well activated it. Now have something to point to and can experiment from my website. https://www.fiverr.com//transcribe-handwritten-calculation

17.01.2022 So whilst constructing cities with buildings permanently anchored to the ground, should consider that the requirements for planning and development of remote communities is different. So maybe it acceptable to ban caravan parks and camping grounds in cities. It is not however appropriate for remote regions. Remote regions should foster and promote mobilisation and mobility.... Mobile services in place of operating from fixed buildings. Open and travelling markets in favour of buildings. That Maitland is geographically central to the Yorke Peninsula is largely irrelevant when it comes to fixed buildings. The most populated regions are concentrated North and South of the centre. But they are still relatively poorly serviced centres. Based on buildings they cannot be anything else. Adelaide itself is something of a supply backwater, and Maitland is a backwater of a backwater. Not only is it necessary to improve vehicles and transportation networks of roads/railways, but also improve servicing of the networks. Vehicles need somewhere to park and hold up for several days, whilst goods and services are distributed from the vehicles. Secondly still need to provide for people going to the suppliers not just the supplier going to the people. Therefore have open market places for the suppliers and caravan parks for the customers.

15.01.2022 If take a cell 1000km in diameter and fit cells 100km in diameter inside then will fit 91 cells. with some overhand. Take the 100km diameter cell, consider as an industrial city-state. Then fit 10km diameter towns inside. Then in each town fit1km diameter villages. In each village fit 100m diameter estates. In each estate fit 10m diameter personal residences. Eliminating the cells that overhang, each level can fit 85 cells of the next lower level.... Just as half a person will struggle to survive also will half a city. A city can only grow and maintain services to its population if it grows in a modular manner: and by whole numbers of elemental modules. The minimum size of module is what we would require to place a remote colony on the moon, a station in deep space. For a self-sufficient military outpost. Our remote townships are typically not properly designed remote outposts. People leave to go live in the cities, and there are problems in recruiting people to work on farm towns and mining towns. Especially with respect to health and education. But there is also a problem of people turning away from taking farming as employment. But it is not just a problem of logistics and distance there is also a timing issue. If one person can operate a farm using machinery, and they work for 40 or more years. then probably have one or two generations which are born in rural communities but have to look else where for employment. When the time comes to replace the farmer where are they recruited from?

02.01.2022 Had to modify my toolbox spreadsheet for blogger. For some reason it stopped reading the xml export file. After some messing around discovered I now needed to provide a name for the default unnamed namespace. Didnt need to before, not sure why I need to now. But changed the XPath search and now works again. So when get miscion website back online will release a revised version of the spreadsheet.

01.01.2022 And then there is the logistics of power and water supply. From an industrial engineering viewpoint there are 4 modes of transport: 1) Land 2) Sea 3) Air... 4) Pipeline Though cables can be added to the pipeline concept. Do we transport coal to a power station located near the consumer? Or transport electricity by cable from power station located in the coal fields to distant consumer? We seem to typically choose the latter. And whilst the cables can be thousands of kilometres long, it is apparently not viable to generate solar power in North Africa and cable to Europe.

01.01.2022 The length and width are the important dimensions for transport. Central places http://www.worldatlas.com///oceania/australia/aulandst.htm

01.01.2022 And then there is the logistics of providing health care to remote rural communities. Exacerbated due to the elderly moving to the remote regions due to lower costs of housing. It is not actually lower cost of living because food is seldom supplied locally. Industrial farming sends raw materials to city based factories or warehousing, which then distributes back to local retailers. Then there are the goods and services not available. Then on top of that add monopoly, with high prices and low quality supply. https://equityhealthj.biomedcentral.com//10.1186/s12939-01
