24.01.2022 I am posting this because the one thing I find hardest to watch is seeing parents yelling at and causing their children to feel shame in public. It truly breaks my heart. And there is a better way that will earn your child's respect.

20.01.2022 Parents are invited to take part in a research study about parents’ experiences after the final orders have been made in the NSW Children’s Court and this has happened in the last 6 months to three years. You have been invited to participate in this study because of your experience and knowledge about this topic. The information you provide about your experience will help us understand how parents experiencing such an event can be supported. If you are interested, please contact Natalie Morton at [email protected] or phone/text Natalie on 0415486183.

18.01.2022 The UK is embedding social and green prescriptions into their National Health Service. When my clients are up for it, I also issue green prescriptions. It's just a piece of paper but sometimes it can be a real motivator.
18.01.2022 "If the Country gets hurt, we get hurt." If there's one thing you watch today, make it this. Yanyuwa-Garrwa man and Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network advocate, Nick Milyari Fitzpatrick, speaks about the impact climate change is having on his Yanyuwa Country (Booroloola region).... The traditional calendar Nick and his family have been using for thousands of years is no longer accurate because of climate change. Nick notes that mangrove Country is changing. There is less freshwater in the local river, due to droughts. This has had a domino effect, resulting in mangroves dying off and less crustaceans living in the mangroves. A warming climate is resulting in an imbalanced population of turtle hatchlings, as it is sand temperature that determines whether turtles are female or male. Entire ecosystems are being impacted. "We have to stand up, we have to stand strong, we have to do our best."
17.01.2022 Really excited to be sharing a story written with a young person I've been working with around ways she is standing up to the effects of Panic and Anxiety. If you know a young person who is going through similar hard times, perhaps you might share this story with them? I've been sharing this with some of my other young people and they have spoken about how hearing this story makes them feel less alone and more connected. It's such a powerful piece. So if you share it, I invite you to respond and I will pass your message onto my client. https://www.metaphoricallyspeaking.com.au/stopping-panic-i/
17.01.2022 "We all need to process some of the anxiety, grief and depression that come with our life-threatening ecological reality, and learn how to fold them into our lives. This is what Hickman calls internal activism, and it is just as important as external activism -- the more conventional kind. The trick is to not get lost in the dark places that internal activism brings us to - - to keep moving* - - and to welcome the idea that we’ll cycle through the trenches again..."
12.01.2022 Are you bogged down? The metaphor of getting stuck in the mud is really connecting with farmers. Love it!

09.01.2022 "If lockdowns and quarantines have taught us anything, it’s how fundamental nature is to our mental health. Being trapped inside four walls for days and weeks on end ain’t good for our hearts, minds and souls. We need open spaces, fresh air and the gentle hum of nature to sustain us."
