17.01.2022 What made Josh want to grow a mullet for mental health? "I have decided to partake in mullets for mental health because I think we need to bring a greater awareness to what this disease actually is and what it means to people. I’m flat out sick and tired of people not being aware of how others may be doing and all it may take is a quick 5 minute chat to see or hear they might not be in a great headspace. I have had close friends commit suicide because they felt like no one c...ared or even knew what was going on with them, and to me that is on us to make sure that this doesn’t happen if you notice someone being distant or being quiet go have a chat go talk to them because we can’t continue this habit that mental illness is nothing. We as a community need to bring a greater and more visible awareness to such an unfortunate illness. I try and greet everyone I see everyday with a bright smile and a catchy joke wether it is saying good morning in the afternoon or saying something silly. I think it’s extremely important to talk and have these conversations or we will just keep doing the same loop and that is just not on. Unfortunately we will never get rid of this but we can bring a greater awareness to the situation so if that’s me making myself look silly for a month, 3 months of however long as long as people are chatting and talking then I feel like I have played a role in gaining better awareness for myself and others." 05.01.2022 Only one more day to go before the mullet is gone forever!! We have raised... Thankyou to everyone so far who has donated. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts. We see a number of patients with mental health diagnoses and believe that Blackdog are doing great things to bring some awareness to this issue. Stats are trending to show that by 2030 depression will be the leading health concern worldwide. We want to do everything we can to reduce this in the future Don't forget to watch us live tomorrow at 12pm to see Josh's mullet get shaved!
