13.01.2022 The end of lockdown is welcome news for the start of the 2021 auction calendar meaning that auctions can again proceed in Greater Brisbane alongside appropriate precautions and guidelines. Quick Checklist: Maintain a maximum of 20 ppl at your auction in accordance with social distancing guidelines.... Wear a mask and have some additional masks available for potential bidders and buyers. Display your COVID safe plan for all to see. If your auction is likely to exceed 20 bidders, plan to have onlookers outside and only registered bidders inside & consider an online auction option. Send a 'COVID-safe' auction text message to any interested parties asking them to wear a mask, bring their own pen and remember to bid!

Holly Komorowski and the team took this to auction with a two week campaign, flushed out the cashed up buyers who could purchase without conditions and sold unconditionally, under the hammer on auction night. I called the property 'on the market' at $1.5M to eventually and swiftly, realise an awesome result, well over reserve at $1.575M. 3 Registered bidders (all bidders participated) Crowd - 30+ 5.30pm on a Wednesda...y night Takeaways: 1) Well presented and well priced properties will sell. 2) 4 week campaigns are fine but why not work with the early energy in the transaction and capitalise on market momentum? 3) Never question the power of an auction - this auction looked to be completed at $1.5M but within a minute of calling it on the market, rocketed another $75,000! 4) Run more auctions - Canberra has experienced just a 45.3% clearance for the first quarter this year but Home by Holly has run at just over 70%. Run more auctions and get better at it! 5) Get creative around when you hold your auction - this was a Wednesday evening, two days before Good Friday at 5.30pm and had a healthy crowd in attendance. My last auction of the day was a 1960’s cottage .....4.30pm in the afternoon ....9 registered bidders battling it out between hail storms to an eventual sale, well over reserve! I’m a little disappointed that the sign fell over mid-auction and I couldn’t get the infamous jump shot with Craig Loudon Property!!
