25.01.2022 Each month we get together over a BBQ lunch to recognise the team members who best represent our S-TEST. So what is the S-TEST? It's the way we remember our shared company values; S-TEST is an acronym for Safe, Team, Enjoy, Smart and Trust. In April we would like to recognise Albert Bartolomei, Peter Butera, Margaret Fell and Ash Rowlands for the going the extra mile and for their positive attitude. Congratulations guys!

22.01.2022 It's always nice to see kangaroos on the site as a reminder of the bushland around us every day. This guy is certainly keeping an eye on what's going on!

22.01.2022 Doing our bit to look after the environment means a lot to the team at MQG. One example is our ongoing program of tree planting across the sites at Lang Lang and Nyora. This is part of the continual rehabilitation of our bushland, it reinforces wildlife corridors and helps maintain native habitats, and it contributes to the tree line screening the site from nearby roads. Last month alone we planted over 100 trees and there are a further 100 to go in during November, all with the support of the Bass Coast Landcare Network.

18.01.2022 The quarrying industry is a vital to every construction project in Australia, from building your house and your local primary school, to skyscrapers in the CBD and the roads, freeways and rail networks that link us all together. If you want to find out more, check out the link below to the Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia (CCAA) website which gives a good introduction to quarrying in Australia. https://www.ccaa.com.au//Pu/Quarries/Quarry_Overview.aspx

12.01.2022 Have a look at MQG's new website at http://mqg.com.au. We have been developing this for several months and the site is now live! Included are comprehensive product descriptions, a section on quality control, the environment and health and safety, plus profiles of the leadership team. Over the next few weeks we will be adding a news page, jobs at MQG, key projects and lots more. So have a look at the new site and let us know what you think.

12.01.2022 Metro Quarry Group are proud of their community engagement and are committed to promoting the extractive industry. School visit programs give children the opportunity to explore and interact with machinery used in every day quarrying.

11.01.2022 All quarries have a unique geology and a complex set of geotechnical hazards that we need to understand and manage. Working closely with Dr Sanjive Narendranathan and Nirav Patel from GHD we held a training session to help our team appreciate the risks, to understand ground behaviour across the site, and build their awareness of the likely hazards. Dr Narendranathan also contributes to our Ground Control Management Plan helping our team develop and maintain a safe working environment.

08.01.2022 We all want to help our friends and colleagues to feel safe and supported and with the COVID-19 restrictions this is more important than ever. How are your workmates getting on? Do you have a neighbour living on their own who might not be doing so well? How about your own family, how are they coping with the isolation we are dealing with in Victoria? #RUOKDay is a reminder that a conversation could change a life. This year have a think about what to say after "R U OK?" so you... can keep the conversation going when someone says No, I’m not OK. #theresmoretosay www.ruok.org.au See more
