25.01.2022 BACK OPEN FROM 7AM TOMORROW!!! We are very excited for tomorrow....... LOCKDOWN 2.0 was rough... and we thank you for your support during this time! There w...ill be a few changes to the way our Dine In service runs... ~ Maximum indoor seating - 10 patrons per separate indoor space (we are fortunate enough to have two separate areas) ~ Outdoor seating will be increasing, with density of 1 person per 2 square meters. Thank goodness the warmer weather is upon us! So you can sit, soak up the sun and enjoy those beautiful Metung water views! ~ Bookings will only be taken indoor for Meals (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) ~ Day time bookings indoors will be limited to 1.5hours ~ Evening dinner service will run with two seatings: 5.30pm & 7.30pm ~ We will still be required to obtain sign in details for contact tracing & as well as maintain strict sanitisation & social distancing protocols. ~ We ask for your patience during this time, we dont love all these rules & regulations, but they are a must, and we need to be in it to ensure our business survives & continues to provide local jobs! ~ Takeaway will run as normal!

25.01.2022 Hi all, The good news is Step Three commences after midnight Wednesday this week. This information is for rural and regional areas only, not those in the metrop...olitan area. If you are having trouble accessing detail within the next 48 hours, please DO NOT put it in a comment below email the office on [email protected] if you are unable to find out yourself. The dot points below are what we do know and while I know there will be many more questions on specifics (much remains unknown until tomorrow), please keep an eye on the following websites for further details: Details around business openings: https://www.business.vic.gov.au/ More general restrictions (travel, camping regulations, community sport etc: https://www.vic.gov.au/third-step-coronavirus-road-to-recov While restrictions are being eased in country areas, enforcement on travelling will be increased. More vehicles will be checked and this will sometimes result in significant queues and delays for those travelling to and from Melbourne for medical, work, child custody or other reasons. Please take note of this and allow travel time. It is also anticipated fines will be increased for those who are in country areas or attempting to travel to country areas without a valid reason. Please take particular note of the second dot point below, as there is confusion in the community around this. Step Three from midnight Wednesday, this is what we know: * There will be no restrictions on leaving home. * Visitors allowed at private homes from one other household for the duration of Step Three (of up to 5 visiting people, known as your social bubble). You cannot have people from more than one different household visit your home for the period of Step Three. Once you nominate the visiting household and they visit, that cannot change and you are each others social bubble household, its reciprocal. For example, you cannot have people from one household visit and then another household three weeks later or one household visit your home and then you visit another household, you are each others social bubble as soon as that first visit takes place. So no gatherings in the home from different families, no sleepovers from different families, or different kids visiting their friends homes from week to week. . If you have a person or family coming to stay from another area for a weekend (eg a mate from Ballarat), they are your social bubble. They cannot stay and then you have another local household over in Step Three, nor can you visit another local household at any time in Step Three. You cannot have a household choose you and you choose a different household. * Accommodation / travel. Accommodation will be open to visitors from other areas in Step Three (no Melbourne tourists), with caps per the social bubble. More detail is to be provided on camping by the Government tomorrow. * Hospitality will open. Pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants can have 10 people per indoor space (floor space permitting, one person per four square metres) with tables spaced and no more than 20 inside a premises (maximum two indoor spaces). What determines a suitable divide between spaces will be explained tomorrow so keep an eye on the website above. Outdoor dining can be up to 50 (space permitting, tables 1.5m apart). An establishment that can cater for all the above with the appropriate gathering and density limits can have 70 patrons at a time. A two hour limit exists for those sitting down for table service and businesses must have a COVID safe plan. * Public gatherings of up to 10 people outdoors will be allowed. (They can be from different families, social distancing rules apply) * All retail open, including hairdressing, beauty services and tattooists, with a face covering can be worn for the duration of service (this is a recent change). * Outdoor contact and non-contact sport for people aged 18 and younger. * Outdoor non-contact sport only for adults, with gathering and density limits. (While we await clarity on what sports fall under non-contact it is anticipated the likes of cricket, tennis, golf and bowls will be included with possibly some number restrictions for certain sports please watch the website above). * Outdoor skateparks open, outdoor fitness for groups of 10 people. (Detail is be forthcoming on gyms and indoor activity classes). * Weddings - allowed with up to 10 people (including the couple, two witnesses and celebrant). * Funerals - allowed with up to 20 people (infants under 12 months of age or people required to conduct the funeral not included in the limit). * Religion - outdoor religious gatherings for up to 10 people plus a faith leader, places of worship open for private worship for households or social bubbles, plus a faith leader. * Face coverings remain for the duration of Step Three. * Just to be clear, those living in Melbourne cannot come to this area on holidays and should not be booked into accommodation houses, nor should they be attending holiday homes unless for urgent maintenance that cannot wait. People not observing this should be reported to police. Lets make sure we stick to the rules and take the opportunity presented to us and get out and support our local businesses within the rules set down so they may survive.

21.01.2022 The Farmers and Makers Market in Paynesville this past weekend was the first occasion that Haraz Coffee Yemen has been part of the local market scene. Turab w...as especially pleased with his first outing and commented it was a great turnover with people exhibiting excellent masking, social distancing and response of people young, old and families starved of social interaction and of course coffee... the swans were tempted too... Turab is excited about being onsite again at the September 26 market. See more

20.01.2022 Well I am gutted today. We have experienced terrible Fires in Jan 2020 ,two emergency evacuations and 24 weeks of two covid lockdown closures. Just the Horrible... Fires this year is enough to break people, let alone what has followed for us all. Announcing such devastating plans on "Fathers Day" speaks volumes to me of the lack of compassion this State Government has for people, us the people. The "we are in this together" statement is an out and out lie and quite embarrassing to think the State Ministers think we are foolish enough to believe them. It frustrates me beyond reproach these people think we will accept that comment. The mantra of the state being opening for business as infections reduce, is a muse. In East Gippsland an overall region of 20,000 sqkm we have had 1 case and yet we cant open and operate our business unless customers sit outside in the cold. I am extremely concerned about our ability to be ready to trade this summer. Where do we get trained qualified staff to work at a moments notice? especially in Regional VIC. The Virus is a great concern yes, but time has come to manage around it, not through it. Let Regions open if the case numbers are down dont group them but restrict travel between. We will do our best I guess and battle on, hopefully. Cheers. .

17.01.2022 10k followers WOW! And on our 4th year birthday Thanks to all the folks that have followed us on our journey so far, lets face it we wouldnt be here... without you! We thought this was a good opportunity to tell yall a bit about us. Were Chris & Gab Moore, partners in crime and cofounders, we have 3 kids Orio 9, Hazel 6 & Solomon 2 and we live on our family farm between Marlo and Cape Conran We started our brewery 4 years ago and have followed our hearts ever since. At the centre of that heart were a farmhouse brewery located in a 100yr old butter factory on the banks of the Snowy River in Orbost East Gippsland. Our beers are unique, sometimes challenging but always with nuance & subtle layers of complexity. We make hand crafted artisanal beers that explore an ever changing selection of styles with a diverse array of farmed and foraged ingredients that showcase the terroir of place and are an expression of our regions agricultural & maritime history and the pristine wilderness that we call home. Although were now sending our beers nationwide and starting to export OS, were still a very small team of 6! We have huge dreams for the future of Sailors Grave, with the aim to source 90% of our raw ingredients locally, grown AND processed here. Most importantly we hope to continue to be advocates and champions for our region and we want to see it thrive, innovative and prosper! Chris & Gab

16.01.2022 WE WANT YOU TO ENJOY OUR PASTA AS MUCH WE DO !!! Located in Briagalong at the foothills of the Alpine Ranges, RAINBOW CREEK EGGS is one of the regions finest Fr...ee Range Egg and Fresh Egg Pasta producers. At this weeks Paynesville Farmers and Makers Market Konrad and Belinda were first time stallholders and had o offer a range of their sensational fresh egg pasta. Whilst not able to sell their eggs due to the markets policy of not having multiple suppliers of the same produce (in this case eggs), Konrad and Belinda were pleased to have their pasta on sale. Their signature RAINBOW FETTUCCINE attracted a lot of interest and no doubt will grace the plates of many locals moving forward. See more

08.01.2022 Following is a comment I made on the Metung BTA Facebook page (Metung, Gippsland Lakes) it was in response to a Post on the cancellation of the Metung Farmers Market my comment has since been filtered from that page and yes, I am the Secretary of Metung BTA. Following my comment is a copy of the Metung BTA post (writer unknown) MY COMMENT: Metung Farmers Market was cancelled April May June August and September. Except for one committee member, the Metung BTA committee ...havent cancelled their own businesses for the safety of the community they are still open for business. Metung BTA is a group and to avoid conflict of interest issues the decision to cancel the market should have been made by the group. Food markets are classified as essential food retail and are allowed in Stage 3 Restrictions. Please check out East Gippsland Shire Councils website as well as the Victorian Farmers Market Association. The Metung Farmers Market is a country produce market not the Queen Vic Market. MBTA POST: The Metung Farmers Market has been cancelled for this month only. The Metung BTA Committee will meet monthly to review each market, taking note of the restrictions that are in place at the time. It is this Committee that shoulders all responsibility holding this event. It was felt by the Committee that this was in the best interests of the Metung Community and the Stallholders expected to attend. The market was last cancelled during Stage 3 and we did not feel comfortable holding this months market during another Stage 3 lockdown. We want the Metung Farmers Market and we look forward to holding it again when able, but stress that we have cancelled out of concern for the community. Please stay safe and support our local Metung businesses, shops and our regular stallholders.

01.01.2022 Is this the end of the Metung Farmers Market? Septembers Metung Farmers Market has been cancelled. Paynesvilles Farmers Market is on this Saturday the 29th of August... Following advice from the East Gippsland Shire the Rotary Club of Mitchell River has decided to re-open the Paynesville Market. The Shire classifies producers as essential services and advised approval to go ahead but with quite rigorous COVIA-19 regulations. The Rotary Club of Mitchell River appreciates that things have been tough for everyone because of the pandemic and subsequent restrictions and are keen to re-open to support the producers within the community. Attached are photos of stallholders from the fabulous Metung Farmers Market - Is this the end of the Metung Farmers Market?
