25.01.2022 Thanks The Great Eastern Mail for sharing our news.

25.01.2022 Captain of the Lakes Entrance CFA (Country Fire Authority) Phil Loukes is one of our unsung heroes. 24.01.2022 Need an excuse NOT to drive through flood waters? Let this be it! As the water is slowly receding some of the damage is starting to become apparent. This is wh...at is left of a section of Freemans Reach Rd. At this stage it is too early for council to assess the damage but its safe to say it may be out of action for a little while. There could still be much more damage further along. @Jane Portelli-Vassallo

23.01.2022 Fingers crossed we get some good news today ....

20.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who donated to the CFA pool. Metung brigade will receive our goods soon. Such things like. Reverse camera for our tanker, 4 new Branches (nozzles), lighting equipment to name a few. Cheers Captain Trevor

17.01.2022 Last weekend working together with our good friends at Sarsfield Fire Brigade and DELWP Bairnsdale we managed to contain a land owners burn off that got very mu...ch out of control. It is a timely reminder not only to register your burns but also have the appropriate equipment and water supply to be able to contain any outbreaks. Luckily all ended well but with the severity of the gusting winds it could have been alot worse. Please remember to register all your burns on the burns hotline: 1800668 511 #sarsfieldvolunteerfirebrigade #DELWPBairnsdale

07.01.2022 Thank you The Great Eastern Mail for sharing our land acquisition news. We really appreciate all the community support.

07.01.2022 Road Safety Week is an opportunity to highlight the devastating impact motor vehicle collisions have on our loved ones and our first responders. CFA responded t...o a total of 4,350 motor vehicle collisions last year and during the warmer months we saw an increase on the monthly average. We know Victorians are making plans to get back on the road this weekend and over summer. We are asking you to make sure every journey you make is a safe one.

06.01.2022 Thank you Eastvicmedia for the coverage in today's Lakes Post newspaper. We appreciate you sharing the awesome news about our land acquisition.

06.01.2022 So sad for all these people’s losses .

04.01.2022 Weather Situation Tuesday onwards.... Tuesday: Rain & Wind near the coast... Wednesday: Wind in the High country and costal fringes with gusts up to potential...ly 70-80km per hour from the west on Wednesday afternoon/ Evening. Rain... The weather system that caused the NSW and southern Qld flooding is moving to the south east as this crosses the coast models are suggesting she will spin up to a East Coast Low and bring anywhere from 35 mils to 100mm to Gippsland, models are not yet in agreeance but the chance is there for significant rainfall.

04.01.2022 we were pretty disappointed our crews had to put out more than 20 unattended campfires across Gippsland today. Most people had walked away and left their camp...fire completely unattended to go for swim. Others had packed up and gone home abandoning a going campfire. There’s no excuse it’s simple douse your campfire in water until it is cool to touch and safe to leave. If you can’t keep an eye on your fire at all times just don’t light one. Note that tomorrow (Monday 25 Jan) is a day of Total Fire Ban in East Gippsland but if you’re camped elsewhere in the region consider whether you really need a campfire in this heat? 03.01.2022 This Australia Day, if your BBQ still hasn’t recovered from New Year’s Day make sure you give it a good clean before firing it up, and always check if it is safe to do so first in our Can I, Can’t I guide - www.cfa.vic.gov.au/can

02.01.2022 We are part of your community, and our people are ready to respond when you need us most. Today is #InternationalFirefightersDay, where we take time to reflect ...on the tens of thousands of CFA firefighters who protect our communities, and the 80 CFA members who have given their lives doing so. We honour all of them today, from here and around the world thank you for keeping us safe.

02.01.2022 Beyond The Fire is a TV series on Channel 10 sharing the many and varied perspectives of those impacted by the 2019/2020 Summer bushfires in East Gippsland. Today’s episode (also available on the 10 play app after it’s aired at midday) shares the experiences of our friends at the Lakes Entrance Brigade. It’s an incredible insight into what we think, feel and do as fire fighters; we commend CheekyMac Productions, Connect Well, East Gippsland + Wellington, Gippsland Jersey and all others who were involved in the production of this unique and important show.

02.01.2022 Thanks Eastvicmedia for for sharing this great news in the Lakes Post.

01.01.2022 Home again?! There’s no better time to start planning and practising your home fire escape plan. There are many fire hazards that may exist throughout the home,... and it’s important you know what to do if a fire breaks out. Families who are well-prepared are more likely to escape their homes safely and without panic.
