25.01.2022 There's always plenty of debate about Tex-Mex v's Mexican flavours but this is a great article about Texas-Mexican: the real Mexican flavours seen in southern Texas and northern Mexico. Can't wait to get our hands on his books! https://www.nytimes.com//22/dining/texas-mexican-food.html

21.01.2022 We love what these guys stand for and do our best to do the same here in Australia. Amazing traditionally made tortillas with real corn and no instant tortilla flour. The tortilla is not just a plate for the taco filling, it’s an ingredient in its own right. If your favourite taco place isn’t using tortillas from Mexico City tell them to change!

19.01.2022 Another fresh batch of our awesome authentic nixtamal corn tortillas off to Deli Cravings at the Belconnen markets in Canberra.

18.01.2022 Keep a look out for our stunning new tortilla packaging. If you can’t get them at your local store let us know, and let them know!

16.01.2022 Cinco de Mayo may be a bigger celebration in the US than it is in Mexico but it’s still a great excuse to grab some of our authentic nixtamal corn tortillas and get stuck in to a few tacos with your cerveza.

12.01.2022 If you’re in the area please go and check these guys out. Awesome space, so cosy it feels like home the moment you walk in and super nice staff.

12.01.2022 In the spirit of the times I thought I would share some of the things we do here at Mexico City Foods to reduce our environmental footprint. 1. We run solar panels across both our factory and warehouse units. We installed these several years ago and despite growing a lot we use less electricity than we used to. 2. We run an electric forklift. Forklifts usually use LPG which has to be delivered to you on a truck doubling the environmental hit. We charge our forklift from our... solar panels so we can run all day without worrying. 3. We reorganised our office space to reduce our office space from 2 separate offices to one shared office. Less power from computer peripherals, heating and cooling. We also run fans or put on warm clothes before artificially heating or cooling is even considered. 4. We use cooking oil from a great company that recycled the used oil and refines it to run their delivery trucks. 5. We use 100% whole grain Australian grown corn that is delivered from within the state rather than refined, processed corn flour which is shipped from half way around the world. We are always on the lookout for more things we can do so stay tuned for more things in the future.

10.01.2022 Fresh Aussie grown poblanos! We are looking at getting some in on a one off basis. If you’re interested please contact us.

08.01.2022 Who doesn’t love a good food show and a good taco? Put them together and it’s a dream come true! https://www.netflix.com/title/81040704?s=i&trkid=13747225

06.01.2022 If you’re in the Newtown area head over to Fiji Market on King Street where we just dropped off a huge fresh batch of our nixtamal corn tortillas.

06.01.2022 So excited to have picked up these absolute gems. Can’t wait to dive in and have a read. If you happen to be in our factory outlet ask for a look and be transported to Mexico page by page.

03.01.2022 A lego corn harvester! Just what we needed over here for the best corn tortillas in the country. This is how much we love real Aussie corn.
