25.01.2022 SUNNYCOAST LOVE RUN - Quick Update

15.01.2022 SUNNY COAST LOVE RUN SHOUT OUTS!!!! Now first and foremost I am thankful to my beautiful husband for agreeing to take on this idea and allowing me to give it l...egs. We have both survived off 2-3hrs sleep all week (we decided two days before this to sleep train our 1yr old, rookie move haha), sheer hard work, tears and non stop teamwork I am so proud of you Matt Butler you have a heart like no one I know. The girls are beyond lucky to have you as their daddy. The Sunny Coast Love Run, wow what a wild ride the past 6 days has been, I am speechless as to the generosity and kindness so many have shown. I thought we would be lucky to fill half a truck and we were counting on the rest to be filled with hay..... 2 full trucks of medical supplies for wildlife and humans, food, building supplies, generators, toiletries, all the basics- literally every single thing they asked for and I put on my list we have been able to provide! The third truck (yes three!!!!) has a cold room filled to the brim with the freshest of produce we have to offer. The second half of truck number 3 is filled with hay, we started a GoFundME page 3 days ago and used those funds to fill the truck up with food for the animals!!! No if I were to thank every individual that has contributed this post would literally go on forever, however please know that I am forever grateful to each and everyone of you, whether it be a phone call, calling around, a few hours packing and sorting, sharing and spreading the word or physically donating, in my eyes your a bloody legend and you are ‘my kinda people’. If I missed you at the drop off point I was likely on the phone or breastfeeding bub in the bushes, thank you for being patient with me if I took a few hours to respond to some messages, I really had no idea we could all come together and achieve something of this magnitude in only 5 days!!! That all being said, Matt and I could not have been able to deliver this without a few key helpers and a plethora of very, very generous businesses and people.... 04.01.2022 SUNNYCOAST LOVE RUN - the journey (I will post more footage in coming days) A week ago hubby and I decided to take a truck down to those who needed it, filled w...ith exactly what they required and deliver to a community who didn’t have power or running water. We thought we would fill it with hay and maybe half a trailer of goods. I did a post and the power of social media and people with good and kind hearts helped spread the message and we filled three full B Double truck and trailers full of brand new supplies. I have just got off the phone to the Sargent running the police escort that helped out trucks into the restricted roads (bloody sensational dude and such beautiful family) and he has spoken to a few people in high ranks, who made the comment that our delivery was filled with the most needed supplies of any trucks that had been received. I am proud of our community and what we can achieve in 5 short days, everyone that contributed whether it be a donation, time, calling around or sharing our message I am thank full and you should be proud. I am sure I have missed people in my shoutouts whilst on the road and the chaos that the week before was, please know this wasn't intentional! We are putting together a few clips so you can see exactly where the goods went and know the good that you all did. Since coming home I have made it my mission to make sure the Wildlife supplies got to those who needed it, the people I have spoken to were "like kids in a candy store, this is like Christmas, we have not been able to get any of these supplies, you have helped us save so many lives". I received news this morning that hay was delivered to a dairy farm, that people were on route to shoot 500 head of cattle because they had no feed, so that alone made the trip worth it. Matt Butler put his heart and soul into this trip, he scarified two weeks work, lived off barely any sleep, was away from his little family and had to drive in some very hard conditions. His dad Rod Butler from Trailavan out in the huge hours as well to drive these trucks down, the police escorts kept saying 'bloody best drivers I've seen'. These two tired amazing men then had to hand unload the 3 trucks after driving for 2 days straight as everyone was at the pub for their NY celebrations. I don't know how they did it, they have a heart of gold and work ethic like no other. The people we did meet were forever grateful and I know our Love run donations will get to those who really need it. We drove through hours and hours of devastation and heartbreak, burnt forests, towns decimated, animals in huge piles. The stories of the survivors and those who lost neighbors, best mates, everything, we will never forget. To hold and cry with the victims and survivors of the firestorm is a humbling experience. I want each of you to know you made a difference. To these people and to the animals, the wildlife reserves I ensured received the goods we provided, I am forever thankful to each of you. We will be sharing more of our journey soon, for now we are safe, just got home, going to take 24hrs to mentally process everything and just be with our little family #sunnycoastloverun
