25.01.2022 Our Junior A and B Boys and Girls competed in the Water Polo Semi and Grand Finals last night. Showing the depth that we have in our program our teams battled until the final whistle! Unfortunately, both Boys teams were knocked out in the Semis in hard fought matches. Our Girls teams competed in their respective Grand Finals and our Junior B Girls won the Premiership. Thank you so much to all our supporters there last night. We loved hearing your cheers! #flinderssport #flinderswaterpolo

19.01.2022 Thank you Independent Schools Queensland for sharing Tate's story!

19.01.2022 Find My Spark is our new Primary co-curricular and extra-curricular program that enables teachers to share their passions with students as they explore and develop skills and hobbies beyond the classroom such as music, sport, maths, writing, art and craft, interior design, dance, robotics, TED Talks, Duke of Edinburgh Junior, gardening, nutrition and garden-to-plate cooking, mindfulness and more. Our 'Find My Spark - Fishing Techniques' was a buzz with students sharing photos of their weekend catch measuring their fish using their brag boards. A lesson on soft lures and how to rig these up before testing them was a challenge and a highlight. Thank you to Mr Horton-Stephens for sharing his passion with the students and we wish them all the best for a big catch this weekend!

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Justin and Karl (Class of 2020) for winning the Generation Innovation challenge! The boys said they were super excited at winning especially as the final pitch had to be prepared in the middle of their Year 12 external exams.

17.01.2022 Year 10 Business students were in the Shark Tank this week for a taste of the real world! They pitched their start-up ideas to two industry professionals on the panel - Rebecca Grisman from Campaign Group and Michael Datta from the Bare Coffee Company Each group of students had 6 minutes to convince the panel that their start-up idea had merit and - given the opportunity - would be worthy of investment and mentoring to make it a reality. Flinders Head of Business, Susan Lyn...ch thanked the Shark Tank panellists for their time and expertise. The students appreciated the honest feedback from the ‘experts’ and enjoyed the challenge of developing a proposal and then pitching it to the panel. It was a worthwhile process, if not a little daunting! Flinders is excited to provide entrepreneurs of the future with these types of opportunities to develop essential skills. Where will these ideas take them...?

17.01.2022 Earlier this week, our Year 2 String Immersion Program had its second concert for the year. Every student in Year 2 is involved in the program and they have the opportunity to learn to play the Violin, Viola, Cello and, this year we have added, Double Bass. We congratulate our Year 2 students, our Strings Tutors Mrs Richards, Mrs MacDonald, Miss Harvey and Mr Smith, and Strings Co-Ordinator Mrs Coleman-Mann for a fantastic concert.

17.01.2022 As you can imagine, the first day of school at Flinders has been a busy one! First up, our Year 7s headed off on buses to their beach camp here on the Sunshine Coast. We also held a whole-College assembly and hosted a morning tea for parents of our student leaders to connect.

16.01.2022 The Rugby 7s season concluded last night with some great matches played showing plenty of flair mixed with courage and determination. Congratulations to our U13 Girls, U13 Boys and U18 Boys for finishing their seasons as runners-up. #FlindersSport #FlindersRugby #ProudtobeFlinders

15.01.2022 We welcomed new Flinders students as well as current families onto campus today for various events across the College. All students in Primary School were invited to our 'Meet the Teacher' events, held in their respective classrooms. This was exciting for Years 5 and 6 students who were able to see their brand new Precinct for the first time. Our Flinders Preppies also enjoyed some time in their classrooms for storytime, craft and puzzles. The Year 7s had a special induction ...day in their new Precinct and were provided with lunch before heading to the Flinders Aquatic Centre to complete their swimming trials. This preparation frees them up to embark on Year 7 camp on the first day of term on Wednesday, 27 January. New students to the Secondary School were also invited onto campus to visit their classrooms and meet their teachers and homeroom mentors. It was also a chance to finalise uniforms and set up new tech devices while getting to know one another. These events are just one aspect of our transition program to help new students and their families settle into Flinders life - made to feel welcome and supported along the way. Parents and students - to learn more about the procedures for drop off and pick up on day one and also throughout this term, please visit MyFlinders. We look forward to seeing all students on Wednesday, 27 January!

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Flinders Aquatic Academy swimmers Lia-Belle W, Jaime P and Ryan B who recently competed at the Queensland State Titles. Lia-Belle - who is one of our Flinders Elite Athlete Program participants - swam both the Open age group and her 16-Year age group, making 5 finals. Jaime swam in her new 13-Year age group, and qualified for 8 swims. The College has created a short video to share the great work happening at Flinders Aquatic Academy as they focus on supporting and developing young athletes. 08.01.2022 Today we welcomed Lisa Wilson from Wishlist to receive a cheque for $547, raised through our Flinders Year 9 Market Day. The Business students were able to create an amazing event which culminated in this wonderful donation to this very worthy Sunshine Coast charity. It was great to be able to hand over the cheque to Lisa as she just happens to be a Foundation student of Flinders and was actually in Mrs Lynch's Business class in 1993 and '94. Thank you Lisa for visiting the school today to receive our donation.

05.01.2022 A massive thank you to each and every student and staff member who came along to support our Year 6 Christmas Market Day yesterday morning. The event is part of our i-Impact curriculum in our Flinders Primary School to enable our students to design, create and share entrepreneurial projects that make a positive impact in the world. We are delighted to announce that we raised an amazing $3600 through this event! The money will help to fund 50 Buddy Bags to help new refugees coming into Australia, along with supporting the vital work of the Buddies Refugee Support Program in Queensland.

03.01.2022 Each year, Flinders presents the gift of an illustrated children's Bible to all Prep students so they can share the stories they hear in Chapel and in their Religious and Values Education (RAVE) classes at home. This year, due to COVID interruptions, this presentation was delayed to Term 2. Earlier this week, our Primary School RAVE teacher, Mr Josh Christie presented the Bibles to the Preps in their Chapel service.
