25.01.2022 Next year on the 24th of April, the Running Club is going to participate in an event called "Run The Tan". As a part of this special event, there will be an Emergency Services Challenge, so start training. I will be adding more posts soon after the official launch of their web site, so watch this space. And remember, "The race is not only to the swift, but to those who keep running".

25.01.2022 Relay for the Royal Children's Hospital well underway. Come down and join us. Great cause!

24.01.2022 In order to give our hirsute firefighters a fundraising boost during the last few days of Movember, the CRC will happily match the next $500 worth of donations made to either the "Metropolitan Fire Brigade" team or the "MFB A Team"! If you haven't already, please donate at https://moteam.co/metropolitan-fire-brigade or https://moteam.co/mfb-a-team to help support men's health.

21.01.2022 Two running club stalwarts out and about. I will just leave this here for comment....

20.01.2022 For a great family day out and a chance to be impressed by some amazing vehicles, head to the MFB Classic Car and Motorbike Day this Sunday! With cars, bikes, music, and games for the kids there will be something for everyone. Plus the proceeds of the day go towards helping a great cause - SANDS Victoria.

18.01.2022 Great day at the Bourke st mall. Come and say hello.

17.01.2022 Running Guru's, put this one in your diaries, hope to see a whole lot of you there. And remember, "The race is not only to the swift, but to those who keep running".

17.01.2022 A really enjoyable couple of laps of Albert Park Lake this morning in support of Muscular Dystrophy Australia. The theme of the day was super heroes, and in our minds there are none more super than the kids with MD who stay so positive despite their challenges.

17.01.2022 On Sunday 18th February MFB firefighters and staff will be taking part in the annual Muscular Dystrophy Australia "Run For Strength". Join us at Albert Park Lake if you can to help fight this disease for which there isn't yet a cure. Wear your running club singlet so we can find you, and if you feel like a challenge, your over trousers and braces too. There will be heaps of kids taking part who might like to meet a real life firefighter! Register with the MFB CRC team or dona...te at https://www.mycause.com.au//168940/mfb-charity-running-club Hope to see you all there!

16.01.2022 Before running 10kms in turnout pants. Good cause. Bad idea.

13.01.2022 Current state of the competition: CFA in front with a commanding lead.

11.01.2022 Great people. Great day. Lots of good will.

11.01.2022 Run for Strength at Albert Park Lake this morning

09.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who took part in yesterday's Good Friday Appeal treadmill relay, we raised over $18,100! A final figure will be announced once official counting has been completed, and this will include the amount collected by firefighters and friends at intersections throughout Melbourne today. Well done everyone on another great result for The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne!

07.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to limited uptake of the offer, the bus we planned to charter to Walking Off the War Within tomorrow has been cancelled. We have been able to get in touch with everyone who did RSVP. However, if you know of someone who hadn't contacted us but still hopes to catch the bus, please pass on this message. Regardless, if you've taking part tomorrow keep an eye out for your brigade mates, and have a enjoyable and reflective day.

06.01.2022 To give our Good Friday Appeal fundraising a boost, the Firefighters Charity Fund Melbourne has generously pledged $1500 to both the MFB and CFA running teams - provided they reach their 200km goal! You can encourage your preferred team for a few cents a kilometer too, and all proceeds will go to the The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. Head to https://goodfridayappeal.mfbcrc.org.au for more details.

06.01.2022 Still plenty of time to support your firefighters raising money for the The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. Pledge just a few cents per kilometer to encourage them on the treadmills!

05.01.2022 Dreary weather proved no match for the determined participants at this morning's Walking Off The War Within. It was great to see firefighters and their families supporting this very important cause and helping to raise awareness of depression and PTSI.

05.01.2022 Please see more information about the "Run the Tan" event in April next year. Until then, everyone have a happy and safe Christmas. Best wishes from Phil and the CRC Committee

03.01.2022 Ready to go at the Muscular Dystrophy Australia Run for Strength!

02.01.2022 The MFB and CFA will once again run on behalf of UBC Uncle Bobs Club and raise for the The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne Good Friday Appeal on Thursday. If you’re able to run or shake a can, please do so. If you’re near Bourke Street Mall, stop by and make a donation
