Since many people tend to skip their workouts - let’s talk about how you can apply this principle in your own life: Some days you will naturally be more motivated than others. We focus more on the behavioural measures as a benchmark rather than looking at the scales. We compare our own individual results and not against anyone else. We train as a team even though we are at different fitness levels and have different goals. Congratulations to everyone that participated! 16.01.2022 Even though we are sisters our bodies function at complete opposite ends of the scale. I need 5-6 small meals throughout the day to avoid getting HANGRY, she only needs 2-3 good sized meals a day for her body to function at its best. My body is built to move and requires moderate-high intensity training DAILY while her body is built for STRENGTH and ENDURANCE training 3-5 times per week. From the picture you can see I am most productive in the morning and she thrives well... into the night. So if we were to follow the exact same program we would get very different results! 14.01.2022 Muscle soreness after a workout, can be quite normal. That said, it doesn't mean that your muscles should always be sore after exercising to get results. Power and muscle mass can grow without pain too. Soreness results from high force production when an exercise is new or a load is greater than normal, particularly with eccentric muscle actions. There are two kinds of muscle soreness: acute soreness after exercising and delayed soreness. Soreness in the days after exertion i...s called delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Soreness typically increases in intensity during the first 24 hours post-exercise, peaks in the next 48 hours, then subsides within five to seven days after the workout. DOMS can last for days or even a week, depending on the intensity of your workout. According to current research self-myofascial release using a foam roller can help to reduce muscle soreness and if used before a workout can increase range of motion. TIP try using a foam roller before and after your workout and see if you notice a difference. Perform between 2 5 sets of 30-60 seconds, per muscle/muscle group.
