25.01.2022 One of my most profound experiences of 2020 has been working in and with bushfire affected communities. Seeing the destruction first hand, and getting to meet s...ome of the most resilient and outstanding people has been both humbling and life changing. The recovery journey from the ashes of these people and communities has been captured by CheekyMac Productions in a documentary series Beyond The Fire It will premier on Channel 10 in January. The series will highlight bravery, community connection, kindness, and volunteerism through the power of storytelling and shed a light on the mental health and wellbeing of these communities in recovery. 21.01.2022 It has been a perfect start for this chicory, plantain, phalaris, clover mix.

21.01.2022 Our summer crops are great at expressing when they are lacking moisture. They can also give a good indication of change in soil type throughout a paddock. This crop of Chomper sorghum has a clear line through it indicating moisture stress.

21.01.2022 This is one of the reasons why i love soil and how it works! With the right amount of organic matter, this is only the beginning of how active your soils can be! There is a whole other world down under our feet processing nutrients for plant growth and development. All this biology also increases ease of root penetration, water infiltration and nutrient availability. The wonders of what we cant see always makes me think bigger than what is just in front of our eyes. #aussie...agriculture #biology #mgtrading #lookingatthebigpicture See more

20.01.2022 I was scheduled to do a number of live, face to face sessions and events in the Upper Murray region over the course of 2020 as part of Drought and Bushfire reco...very, but COVID restrictions have prevented this from happening so far. In light of the ongoing Bushfire recovery, the impact of COVID and recent tragic events within the Upper Murray community, I felt it timely to check in. Thursday September 10th is National R U OK Day and World Suicide Prevention Day. Now more than ever we need to come together and support each other and continue the conversation around our mental health and wellbeing. This online event will offer ways to support the mental health and wellbeing of yourself and those around you. There will be more details to follow...... #not2TUF2speakup #theunbreakablefarmer #speaker #authentic #mentalhealthawareness #suicideprevention #wellbeing #selfcare #communication #conversations #seekhelp #rural #regional #community #support https://facebook.com/events/s/got-your-back-upper-murray/1187622451619992/?ti=as

10.01.2022 Jodie Solomons is the calf manager at Donovans Dairy, in Mount Gambier. Jodie explains her experience using #Mylo. In the autumn calving we normally expect to ...wean about 400 to 500 hundred heifers and we'll rear a hundred bull calves in the autumn. We've had to use a lot of electrolytes to keep them going. A lot of tubing involved. Since using the Mylo at the last calving we only lost two calves from sickness. We decided to try Mylo. Terragen Biotech had one of your seminars. I thought I'll give that a go, you know, I'm always open to trying new things. It went very well. It was the best calving rearing calves wise I've had in the three years that I've been working here. Calves were a lot brighter, keen to drink. It just made my job a lot easier when they had the will to live. Guess we're doing well. So even with that group that did get crook we're still 25 days ahead of the previous year. Like our weaning times, so I was like, right next season we're going to have a real crack...and we probably it still would have been about the same, about 25 days earlier but then first drop like these calves are out of heifers so they're always a bit smaller so it tends to take a bit longer but we found the gap between them reaching their 110 kilos and the ones out of the cows wasn't much different like they'd picked up and were motoring along. Jodie says. Jodie continues if I've got sick calves and I have to come back it would save me at least an hour to two hours per day just just myself and if I've got someone else with me that's two lots of wages so since using the Mylo it's cut all the tubing pretty much out. I like the Mylo how it mixes well with the milk because I do have a backpack that I use for individual feeders but at the minute I just mix it in with me milk and once I get going and I'm using a thousand litre loads of milk I just pour it into the tank and mix it in as it's filling up and feed it out that way. I also found the earlier you get it into the calves the better. I've noticed like when they in bring calves we used to leave them a day and then feed them the next day because they never wanted to really drink but if i give them Mylo the day they come in, the next day they'll be up singing out looking for milk. I find it really gets their appetite going. I also mix it in with their grain in their feeders in the shed like a bit stronger like give it a squirt in there mixed it in by hand I find the calves love it and they'll start eating a lot earlier. I even had one at day old eating grain and I actually asked the vet and make sure that was all right and he said if it wants to eat on it's own free will it's fine. I said well that's great then. I swear by it like I'm happy to promote stuff that works I'm not going to be one that's going to tell people something works when it doesn't. When you're rearing that many calves you've got your calf rearing pretty well down to a fine art. You've got so many you've got to get it right; you don't want to be having crook calves. Jodie explained. More information at: https://mylofeedsupplement.com.au//jodie-solomon-calf-man/
