04.01.2022 A farrier recently suffered injuries in a gas-related incident when working in a custom-built trailer that had not been certified in Australia. The trailer was... custom-built in USA and the gas system was also installed there. The gas system was not compliant based on a number of reasons, including: The LPG cylinder was not an approved device. The LPG cylinder was inside the trailer. The flexible hoses being used as the gas pipes were made in the USA and not approved. There was no upper or lower ventilation. The pipework had an open end and a ball valve as control. The appliance was not approved. The Petroleum and Gas Inspectorate tagged out the gas system and removed the LPG cylinder from the vehicle
