21.01.2022 Some great news!

20.01.2022 INCOMPLETE FOOTPATH Gabby wrote asking if we could help to find out why the footpath hadn't been completed on the final section alongside Maiden Gully Road to Patas Road. She has to walk her kids to school each day pushing a pram. This section poorly formed, rough and difficult to push the pram through the loose stones. Her request was forwarded to our three Ward Councillors and the Engineering Team for the CofGB. Thanks for the immediate response from Councillors Jenny Alden... and Rod Fyffe and the CofGB. Gabby has received a reference number from the CofGB relating to her request. The photo tells the story. We will keep you posted re developments.

20.01.2022 Xmas Raffle. Thanks for your suggestions for the goodies to be placed in our hampers. These have been listed below. 17.01.2022 Good to have you back!

16.01.2022 PROGRESS!!!!!! Today a meeting was held via Teams with the MGPA, Craig Niemann, CEO CoGB, Brian Westley, Director Presentation and Assets CoGB, Mayor Cr Jennifer Alden - Lockwood Ward, Councillor Vaughan Williams - Lockwood Ward & Craig Arrowsmith - Principal Maiden Gully Primary School. The feedback Brian Westley gave was:... In listening to your feedback, the main concerns I noted relate to: Student (and general pedestrian/cyclist) safety due to increased traffic and additional traffic lane Loss of car parking Lack of funding to commence these works Craig Niemann also was very interested in not only the safety concerns of the children, but the impact the intersection will have on the design orientation of the new school plans. The CoGB members and Lockward councillors have assured us that they will work through alternatives and meet again for discussion in early June.

14.01.2022 We are making waves! https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//maiden-gully-group-/

14.01.2022 Thanks to Andrew McHardy, Team Leader Local ByLaws for CofGB our signage to clean up after your dog has been erected at the Maiden Gully Recreation Reserve and the Maiden Gully Community Centre. If all future users Pick Up After Your Dog, then cricketers will not have to have a Poo Patrol before they play! A comment on ‘Next Door’ suggested that these signs would be appreciated at Janelle Drive park. The four signs cost the Association $341. If you have further suggestions for our consideration send them to [email protected] Responses will be considered at future meetings.

13.01.2022 Concerned residents have contacted MG Community Noticeboard, regarding cars being broken into in Lower Beckham’s Road. Or at the very least, please ensure your vehicle is appropriately secured. Should you be witness to anything suspicious, please contact Police.

12.01.2022 A household bubble means we can start to see friends and family while lowering the risk of spreading COVID-19. We can now form a household bubble with one othe...r household in regional Victoria and have up to five people from your bubble visit your home. The person or household you form a bubble with needs to stay the same throughout Step 3 and there are no restrictions on how often you see them. Your intimate partner can be separate from the household bubble. You do not need to wear a face covering while the people in your bubble visit your home or while you visit them at their home. You do need to wear a face covering while you are in public with them. For more information: www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/social-gatherings-regional-victoria-thi

07.01.2022 Xmas Plum Puddings The Maiden Gully Progress Association decided to give a Plum Pudding to Maiden Gully residents who were 80 years old and over. Names were collected outside the local IGA when they were selling Raffle tickets for their Xmas Hamper Raffle. They were to be delivered by the Maiden Gully CFA Santa when he came around on his usual Xmas Lolly Run. Alas, due to panic buying all the supplies of Plum Puddings were gone. Instead, fruit cakes had to be substituted! Sorry for any inconvenience. Next year we will be better prepared.

03.01.2022 Emut and Emmurson, our local resident emus are very, very unhappy. Someone stole one of their four eggs. Its hard enough being a responsible male and sitting on these eggs for between 49 and 55 days without having one poached! If you know the culprit, please report them to Crime Stoppers.

01.01.2022 We’ve been very busy getting ready for the night before Christmas Just a reminder that if you live on the north side of the Calder Highway or Olympic Parade, S...anta will be in your area between 3.30pm and 5pm. One truck will start in the Armitage estate and the other in Westbury Estate. After 5pm, Santa will then visit every street on the south side by 6.30pm. However, there may be delays if the Brigade is called out to an emergency. Santa also advises that this is a busy time for him and his volunteer helpers so the trucks cannot stop at every house but will stop in one or more safe spots depending on the length of the street. See the Brigade Facebook page for up to date information. Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas! See more

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Lockwood Ward Cr. Jen Alden on her election to Mayor of our great city!
