23.01.2022 The Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care has developed a consultation paper for National Safety and Quality Mental Health (NSQMH) Standards for Community Managed Organisations (CMOs). This is the first step in the development of NSQMH Standards for CMOs, which will help provide safety and quality assurance for community mental health service users, and best practice guidance for service providers and developers. 21.01.2022 Calling all mental health carers! Carers Australia is offering a free six-week online mindfulness course for carers of people with mental illness and/or psychosocial disability. During 45 minute weekly sessions, an experienced facilitator from Simply Mindful will teach you a range of practices and tips to help manage some of the challenges uniquely experienced by carers. To help you, Carer Gateway has developed an online skills course to help you understand some of the legal issues you may encounter while caring for your loved one and give you some tools to help navigate these challenges. This course is part of a series of free online skills courses for carers. Each self-paced course takes approximately 20-40 minutes to complete and offers a range of information, insights and practical tips to help carers develop new understanding and skills important in their caring role.
