24.01.2022 In 2019, the Michael Hughes Foundation won an award. We were recognised with Excellence in Social Enterprise at the Business Australia State Awards at the ICC Sydney. The Foundation is a registered charity but we operate as a social enterprise, providing defibrillator packages, first aid equipment and delivering high quality first aid training. This is one way we remain sustainable for the long term and how we can ensure we can focus on advocacy and creating change with the ...response to cardiac arrest. Our Executive Director Julie Hughes accepted the award on behalf of the whole MHF team. Although she was lost for words, she got a cuddle from Magda Szubanski Watch the video here: http://ow.ly/i5Bh50CF41Q Parramatta Chamber of Commerce #MHFLife #MHFTurns5 #HappyBirthday #Memories #call #push #shock #cpr #legacy

15.01.2022 In December 2015, the Michael Hughes Foundation became a registered charity. We didn't want to go down that path but we became aware of the challenges and wanted to make a difference. 4 founding Directors including Julie Hughes, Kevin McSweeney, Sam Issa and David Lamond started the Foundation with an initial focus on Parramatta and Western Sydney. The mission was born to Turn Bystanders Into First Responders. In April 2016, Julie Hughes spoke with Bill Woods on Radio 2UE. Th...at discussion focussed on the start of the journey, the challenges and what we were trying to achieve. It also focussed on the Parramatta Lord Mayor's Gala Dinner in 2016. 12.01.2022 As todays #MeetTheTeam contribution and the final edition in our series, we want you to meet Julie Hughes, MHFs Executive Director. We spoke to Julie about her current role at MHF and why the organisation was established in 2015: **What is your current role at MHF?**... I am the Executive Director of MHF. I am responsible for the overall running and various business aspects of the Foundation and I regularly represent MHF at its advocacy, training and marketing initiatives. **Why did you join MHF?** I am one of the Founding Directors of MHF.
