23.01.2022 Meet Tich, Alex and Will - the legal team behind the new Care and Protection service. The MHLC is proud to be working alongside Ruah to expand the support we offer into Care and Protection, Housing and Homelessness and Family and Domestic Violence and we’re bringing those services together under one umbrella banner Ruah Legal Services. At the same time, we’ll stay focused on remaining a centre of expertise in the provision of legal advice and representation for people e...xperiencing mental health issues. Welcome to the team!

22.01.2022 We’re all crossing our fingers for our very own Luke Cassidy who has been nominated for the prestigious 2020 Criminal Lawyers Association of WA Hodge Award! The Hodge Award recognises amazing contributions from young criminal lawyers to the practice of criminal law in Western Australia. Luke started with the Mental Health Law Centre as a volunteer four years ago and has since risen through the ranks and achieved some stellar outcomes for clients. He’s a winner in our eyes and we hope tonight at the CLAWA Annual Dinner too. Join us in wishing Luke luck and cheer along with the Ruah and MHLC team tonight!
20.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day - a day to remember the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, those who we now know as the Stolen Generations. To remember their descendants and the healing that is still ongoing. It is a day for us to acknowledge the truth of our history, and to reflect on the part we can all play on our pathway towards meaningful reconciliation. It is also the fourth anniversary of the Uluru St...atement. It’s a day when we join the call for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have a voice in Parliament enshrined in the Constitution will give Indigenous Australians a say in matters that affect them. #NationalSorryDay #BringthemHome #FromtheHeart
