This is a very popular adventure therapy based program that will run one day per wee...k, starting Week 8 Term 3 for approximately 10 sessions. In addition to this, Tumbelin Case Managers Lucy and Jodi facilitate an overnight camp at the Coorong and a 3 night expedition to the Adelaide Hills. Lucy and Jodi from Tumbelin Adventure Therapy are holding a Choices Workshop and Taster Session at the MCLC on Monday 7th Sept 9:30am-12:30pm. 22.01.2022 MCLC, ILC and MHS are celebrating National Op Shop Week! Staff and students are challenged to showcase their best buys from local op shops. Today we have the lovely Maz in her beautiful tunic style top, she has enjoyed looking at some of the op shops around the region and highly recommends the Penola vintage op shop. Mell the fashionista found her tidy little number in Mount Gambier and was very excited at the affordable $1 price tag. Mike has picked up a few putters for $2 which will provide some lunchtime entertainment for staff and students on our makeshift mini putt putt. I will round up the rest of the troops tomorrow and showcase the rest of our teams bargains. Happy op shopping
22.01.2022 A big shout out to Foodbank SA for not only providing our students with a regular supply of fruit and vegetables, frozen ready made meals and wholesome breakfast foods but another of their Schools packages arrived this week from the Foodbank SA Young Women’s Program. These packs will be available to our young ladies from MCLC and MHS as needed. Foodbank SA currently support more than 490 school programs throughout South Australia. 18.01.2022 MCLC students recently took part in the Operation Flinders program in the northern Flinders Ranges. During the 8 day wilderness exercise, participants trekked approximatley 105km's, experienced abseiling, Indigenous culture, bush craft, learnt the importance of working as a team and built self-confidence through challenging themselves. We have found a variety of fashion including formal clothes, work wear, dress ups and some beautiful furniture to restore. Highly recommend looking through the bargains in our local stores!

15.01.2022 Millicent Community Learning Centre, Conservation and Land Management students were at the Valley Lakes today, controlling woody weeds as part of the unit Treat Weeds. We are targeting Wild Olives, Sweet Pittosporum, Cape Wattle and Wild Pines. Part of Taking Care of Country in collaboration with the City of Mount Gambier Council and funded by the Limestone Coast Grass Roots Grant.

03.01.2022 Chloe Deverell and MCLC Volunteer Doreen Eberhard made some beautiful Christmas decorations to start off the festive season. A big shout out to our volunteers as they play such a large role in our school and we value their support. We are hoping to get creative over the coming weeks and are looking for donations of any craft items or ideas that might be useful.
02.01.2022 The work ready class have been challenged to source pallets and turn them into bags of kindling. The students have done an exceptional job and come up with a number of innovative ways to make this task safe and efficient. This kindling will be sold with the help of Dave and the team at Millicent Fosters, with all proceeds going to tools and resources to run our youth engagement programs. We hope to have this product ready for sale over the next couple of weeks so please keep an eye out and support us.
