25.01.2022 Our homeschool park day last week included stalls by 3 mini entrepreneurs selling cupcakes, ice locks and homemade ice bubble tea. Homemade dips and crackers for the mums by @peacelilycandles Canteen with delicious kale salad and sandwiches made to order by @anotherwaylearning The kids went exploring and found these beautiful flowers, which we found out from another mum is actually not a flower but called a "inflorescence" of the composite family. We commonly call them co...mposite flowers and she gave the kids a quick science lesson Lots of new friendships were made this park day, we love meeting mums who are considering homeschooling and encourage them to hang out with us for the day to chit chat everything including all homeschooling Qs. It was a beautiful hot day, next time we will be sure to bring out the water guns What do your homeschool group park days look like?

24.01.2022 @Supreme_incursions put on an awesome Billycarts incursion for our homeschool group. The kids tested out the billy carts and how they could get them to go faster, slow down, take the corners, and stop with their "engine" friends; they explored with making their own simple machines in the workshop using real tools and in teams tried to put together the mini billy carts faster than the other groups. Different concepts were discussed like push and pull (forces), friction, gravity, and simple machines. It was great to see kids from Kindy to Year 9 working together to get their tasks done. We all had so much fun!

19.01.2022 We are so excited to share our events pics from last year! This was a family based project, each family choosing a dynasty/civilisation to research, present a display which could include any related props, crafts. They siblings then used their public speaking to skills to tell their friends all about their chosen dynasty/civilisation! If you haven’t already check out our Muslim Heroes event pics from 2019! The kids also got to participate in a picture hunt for the younger kids, the older kids had a Q&A hunt. Both groups went around to each display to find their answers. It was lovely to see friends working together to find the answers

05.01.2022 We couldn't go without our yearly book week presentation event this year despite the restrictions in place. With a smaller more intimate group, we had a great day listening to the kids talk about the book they had chosen to complete their projects on. This year only one book could be chosen by each family but it was interesting to see how different aged children interpreted and presented what they had read or listened to. Such great work done by all the kids as usual.

01.01.2022 https://youtu.be/9Mse3kKu0Bo Check out SmartSocial on YouTube. It is designed for Parents. It explains the latest social media apps and tools our kids are using, any safety issues, benefits, things to watch out for. Highly recommended and worth exploring if you have a child who plays games online, they don't necessarily have to be a 'gamer'.... There are so many new platforms and technological advances it's hard to keep up and understand them, so this really helps. See more
