23.01.2022 Congratulations to the Men with Heart exhibition

19.01.2022 NewMen, The NSW Mens Health & Wellbeing Association, is as impacted by the outbreak of corona virus as all other organisations. Our plans for this years Sydney National Mens Gathering must change in order to meet the requirements imposed on our communities by this virus. We are unwilling to compromise on either the quality of experience of the men who attend our gatherings or our duty of care to the communities of which we are a part and that we serve.... Therefore, as leaders in mens work and in our communities we have taken the difficult decision to postpone SNMG 2020. The new tentative date is the NSW October long weekend 2nd to 5th October 2020. This date is dependent on the status of the corona virus pandemic at that time. Those who have purchased tickets to SNMG 2020 can contact us regarding refund or credit toward our next gathering by emailing [email protected] or calling 0473 347 614. We will be using this unexpected extra planning time to build a better SNMG and communities of practice around our work. We look forward to welcoming you into our circles again soon.

17.01.2022 We are excited to bring you the first teaser of Take this heart. This song was written by Darvis Walker and sung with the 60 men from the "Unbecoming" weekend put on by the Sydney National Mens Gathering in the Blue Mountains Hosted by Mens Health & Wellbeing Assocation NSW. The weekend was themed Un-becoming" UN-BECOMING starts a process of progressive letting go of conditioning, information, rationalisation and beliefs that no longer serve us opening a space of potent...iality in which our true selves can begin to dance our original fulfilling purpose. We invite you to Share this trailer with as many people as you can to bring awareness and a understanding of the importance of mens work and the benefits it creates for themselves, their families and their communities. We are excited to bring you the finished product in the coming weeks. Our intention is make this the vehicle of mens works nationally and possibly the globe..

14.01.2022 2019 SNMG Committe Member Darvis Walker shares a story of courage and generosity from bellwether David Dyke. [Make sure you also check out the mini doco about Davids Journey I met David Dyke sitting side by side at the Sydney mens gathering, Blue mountains 2018. Almost instantly I was was taken by Davids presence, his depth of listening, his attentiveness to what I was sharing in the conversation and his generosity of response. Im not sure how old David is to tell the tr...uth, I pay no attention to this, but hes certainly in his 70s. Over the next few days i forged a bond with David that has grown over the last year and i feel proud to call this man a friend. David and I share something thats very close to both of our hearts, a deep yearning to contribute generously in life. During that gathering in 2018, wed all sang a song I wrote, Blackbird. Blackbird is a National anthem for youth at risk, and can be sung by anyone, anywhere, however they like, to simply grow the awareness of youth at risk. David shares a passion for youth at risk having had significant experience over his life at the coal face with such young people. Post the gathering David became a champion of Blackbird, he pitched it at every available opportunity, talking with anyone he felt could to make a contribution to the cause. i was blown away by his dedication and boundless enthusiasm. As our friendship grew, i came to know that David was self funding a short documentary about his journey with prostate cancer. His goal, to simply lend insight, support and guidance to men around the world navigating that same journey. Stop and consider that for a moment. What a bloody selfless act! I mean who thinks after being diagnosed with cancer only two weeks prior to document the whole journey, self fund it and broadcast the inherent vulnerability of the ride with the world? A champion does thats who!.A man with great courage, dedication and heart. This is healthy masculinity at its finest. David, youre an inspiration. Its my intention and i pray that of others, to share this documentary piece at every available chance I have. Folks, get behind David and this cause. To often, individuals get left carrying the burden of such causes and go unnoticed. Comment on the video and let David know your thoughts on the topic, we want it to go far and wide.. Its individuals like David who pioneer such invaluable work in our community. Its individuals like you who make sure that work is honoured. With love, gratitude and respect Darvis https://youtu.be/PutQPR1-ExA
