25.01.2022 You know when you’ve used a tool effectively and a child understand the concept when they use it in you. If our little ninja wants my attention and I am working or studying he will get a timer, tell me ‘when timer finishes then mummy come play’ and if I don’t do it right he will say ‘let’s try that again’. We now have limited stock of newer versions of this timer and can help families purchase them if they are self funded or plan managed. If NDIA managed we can refer you t...o other providers who can supply them. Costs: Time Timer Plus - White 60 mins - $65 Time Timer Mod - Green 60 mins - $50 Time Timer - White 20 Min - $65 Postage and delivery additional For MICAH clients delivery is free To order message us or for our clients let your Therapy Assistant or myself know at your next session.
23.01.2022 We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Margot Prior last month. She was an inspiration to many of us working in the autism and child psycholo...gy sector as well as a shining light to many Australian families. To learn more about Professor Margot Prior we recommend reading this beautiful piece written by Professor Sarah J Wilson FAHMS on Margot's life and work in autism and early intervention.https://psychologicalsciences.unimelb.edu.au//vale-profess https://mailchi.mp/abia/abia-enews-september-1091158
23.01.2022 What an amazing day at day one of our holiday social program. A day full of fun learning and practicing important social skills. We hosted 26 children - half were diagnosed with autism. So proud of every child and the amazing team of therapists who made this possible.
23.01.2022 One tired ninja after our holiday program. Don’t think he’s the only person who will sleep well.
23.01.2022 An exciting new podcast from our own WA based Mandy Mason BCBA.
22.01.2022 We are getting organised for the holidays which are just around the corner. For our wonderful families please let us know how we can support you by completing the below form. https://micahinclusion.snapforms.com.au//summer-holiday-th
21.01.2022 What a joyful two days at our first holiday program. I am so grateful to the amazing team who put their heart and energy into these kids, the children with autism who trusted us and filled our day with joy, the amazing peer buddies who worked hard to be the kindest and most inclusive friends and to their parents who also trusted us. It was amazing to see my dreams and vision become reality. Stay tuned for our January holiday program!!
21.01.2022 ABA isn't therapy. ABA isn't clinical. ABA isn't about insurance or autism or 90% of what people assume. It's a science and technology usable with all humans.
21.01.2022 Short clip of me talking about having a not-autistic brother. Filmed at Top Secret Comedy.
18.01.2022 It's Family Friday! For some young children, moving from one activity to another (e.g., playing with toys to dinner time, playing outside to bath time, watching ...a movie to brushing teeth), results in confusion, frustration, or challenging behaviors. Adults can help children predict what is coming next which helps make transitions smoother. Check out these great transition strategies from NCPMI using the link below. #pyramidmodel https://challengingbehavior.cbcs.usf.edu//Helping-Children See more
18.01.2022 A few weeks ago 11 people started on the road to publishing their stories. They worked hard, laughed a lot, collaborated, wrote, typed and re-wrote, drew, drew more, told stories, edited, edited again and until finally, their stories were ready to go to print. Coming soon :)

18.01.2022 Exciting couple of days ahead for us.... we are trialing a new holiday program with a small group of children and have been madly prepping for it! We are all more than a little bit excited and really hope it is something we can offer in the future. Stay tune for updates. Check out the amazing visual supports we will be using.
17.01.2022 We are so happy to announce that our application has been approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). This means that the BACB exams will conti...nue to be available after 31 December 2022 in Australia and our exam status will be reviewed every 5 years. However, the BACB does caution that their regulations and legal issues may change at any time and we are subject to those changes. We're sure many students are happy to hear this news. Keep studying and good luck with those exams!
15.01.2022 A positive reinforcement system in place for two weeks and significant behaviour change. I love my job!!
14.01.2022 Another autistic adult, Canadian Julie Panneton, now in her mid-50s, talks about how early ABA therapy helped her in so many areas of life, leading to a success...ful career at one of the Big Four accountancy firms, Deloitte. She argues for much wider availability of ABA and other therapies for autistic kids in Canada. Julie’s must be one of the strongest voices yet for ABA - especially in the great quote highlighted - and also one of the earliest to benefit from it, back in the 70s. https://medium.com//my-journey-as-an-autistic-in-an-ableis
13.01.2022 Have you ever had a pre-conceived idea about what a person can or can't do, based on nothing but a label or diagnosis? Human beings love order, predictability a...nd rules. We love to 'know' what will happen when x = y, so that we can plan accordingly. But, can categorising or labelling people based purely on one aspect of their being, be a dangerous thing? What potential or opportunities are we missing? "You need us just as much as we need you. Together we can all thrive." ~ Danny Taylor Smith shares his story on November 28th. www.tedxbyford.com #tedx #tedxbyford #tedtalk #tedxtalk #byford
13.01.2022 The amazing MICAH team! After two days of intensive one on one social and play therapy they managed to continue and to unpick the Seven Steps of Instructional Control by Robert Schramm and translate into how it applies to our behaviour analysis therapy. For more information on this for parents there is a great Facebook group. https://m.facebook.com/groups/271472127176541?group_view_referrer=profile_browser

09.01.2022 Sometimes, we think it's enough to tell our students what NOT today. We wrongly assume that they know what they should be doing. A contingency map is a great v...isual for teaching students not only WHAT they should and shouldn't be doing but WHY. Consequences of their actions on others thoughts and feelings is an important piece in social development. After creating a contingency map: ACT IT OUT! Practice, practice, practice is what will generalize these skills. #aba #abatherapy #ibi #ibitherapy #asd #autism #autismawareness #behaviourtherapy #behaviouranalysis #bcba #bcaba #rbt #ceu #bacb #howtoaba #bxresource #free #join #webinar #blog #freebie #howto #teaching #contingency #contingencymap #abc #consequences #socialdevelopment

Time Timer Plus - White 60 mins - $65 Time Timer Mod - Green 60 mins - $50 Time Timer - White 20 Min - $65 Postage and delivery additional For MICAH clients delivery is free To order message us or for our clients let your Therapy Assistant or myself know at your next session.
