07.01.2022 With the increasing economic uncertainty due to COVID-19, the IMF (International Monetary Fund) has provided its outlook projection on Australia’s GDP. Whilst they predict that Australia’s GDP will fall by 6.7% this year (which is the worst drop since the Great Depression), they also predicted that it will rebound next year and rise by 6.1% (which is the best result since 1984 and the second strongest in 50 years). That assessment by the IMF suggests that they are predicting... a V-shaped recovery. A means basically an equally sharp fall and recovery, which is the most desired outcome out of all the alternatives. So there is light at the end of the tunnel...
