21.01.2022 Results for Kwinana will be in this post

20.01.2022 Let’s Do This! Although the weather forecast is threatening, the second round of the Renegade Winter Series is scheduled to get underway tomorrow at the Ellenbr...ook Speedway and with a good thirteen cars nominated it should be another classic encounter. Paul Stubber crossed the line first in the opening round despite not being eligible for the overall series win, and he has nominated once again for tomorrow, looking to get more laps under his belt in preparation for the season opener to be held at the same venue on the 10th of October. He will be joined by crew man Pat Van Brakel, who returns to the seat he normally keeps warm during the winter seasons. Jeff Pahl was jubilant after his performances in the first round, where he crossed the line in second place in the feature race, being declared the winning eligible driver. He is set to make the trek down from Kalgoorlie once again and will hope to extend his points lead going into the final round in a few weeks’ time. He will be joined by fellow Kalgoorlie driver David Boyes who raced at Ellenbrook last year with an ending he wasn’t hoping for, while other Winter Series campaigners including Jock Murray, Laura Byrnes and Nathan Richards will also be back behind the wheel and looking to pick up where they left off after the last round where they engaged in a fierce battle all day. Series regulars Rob and Rhys Wells are back for the first time this season and with an updated paint scheme, the CTM Recruitment team are excited to be getting back on track. They will be joined by local hero Daniel ‘Nudge’ Ameduri and fellow Pro Dirt Series regular Nathan Callaghan as they look to get back into race shape ahead of the Pro Dirt Series kicking off in earnest. Former Australia #3 Jac Dolmans Jnr enjoyed his foray back into Late Models at the last show and will be looking to build on his results once again, while at the other end of the scale James Whately had a quiet debut and is sure to be right on the pace as his experience grows. Racing is set to begin from 11am tomorrow at Ellenbrook Speedway, so we encourage you to brave the forecast and come out to see what is sure to be some hot action! 17.01.2022 Finally, Back Underway! After what has seemed like an eternity, Late Model Racing Western Australia - LMRWA is all set to get back underway this weekend, almost... five months to the day since the last official race was held for Late Models in Western Australia. Kellerberrin Speedway Club will once again open its gates for what will be Round One of the 2020 Renegade Winter Series and a good field of nine cars have nominated to fight it out for the feature race honours this Saturday. Excitingly, looking through the field, of the nine cars nominated, just Graham Murray, Nathan Richards and Jeff Pahl scored points in the 2019 series, meaning a whole host of new drivers are hitting the track, which is sure to see Late Models continue to grow! Murray had a solid Winter campaign in 2019, winning the opening round at Ellenbrook, then gaining enough points across the following shows to grab second place overall. He will be keen to repeat those efforts this year and continue to learn his craft. Nathan Richards was sixth overall last year, attending three rounds and recording a best finish of seventh place in feature races, something he will be determined to improve on this time out. Kalgoorlie based competitor Jeff Pahl (Pahly Racing) competed in two Winter Series rounds last season and was tenth overall in the points standings. He then went on to make one appearance in the Pro Dirt Series as well as regularly competing at his home track where he came home third in the Closed Club Championships. Now ready for the new season, Pahly could well be a winner this weekend. Fellow Goldfields driver Shaun Cubbage was second in the same Kalgoorlie Speedway Club Championships after a solid effort across the season at his home track. He is now ready to hit the road and will have a run this weekend that with all his years of experience, including that gained from other divisions in the past, can be expected to go well. Laura Byrnes (Red Shamrock Racing) did two shows with the Pro Dirt Series at the end of last season and has spent time since getting as many laps as she can with practice days at Bunbury, Kellerberrin and Ellenbrook Speedways. She has also received support from some other drivers and become more confident in the car, so is now ready to put her skills to the test. Peter Mewett is a former competitor who is returning to the seat after a long time away from driving duties. He had his first run in the #55 machine at the Ellenbrook practice session a couple of weeks ago and will use this weekend as a shakedown run to really get the feel of what the ground pounding Late Models are capable of. Another former competitor making a return is Jac Dolmans, aboard the #28 machine. Previously campaigning an AMCA for many years, Jac has had several hit outs in Late Models before, and shouldn’t take long to adjust to his machinery. James Whately and Adam Flanagan are the final two pieces of the puzzle for this weekend and come into the event as rookie drivers. James has purchased the ex-Lee Redmond Racing 52 machine and has previously raced AMCA’s, while Flanagan is aboard an ex- Michael Holmes Racing machine and comes in completely new to Speedway. Both rookie drivers will be looking to get laps under their belt and learn about the fine art of driving Late Models this weekend! Racing kicks off this Saturday at Kellerberrin Speedway, with the program starting at 12.00pm, drivers to be in the pits by 10.30am. See you trackside! The 2020 Renegade Winter Development Series for Late Models, proudly supported by Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants; suppliers of racing oils and car care, Michael Holmes from Michael Holmes Racing (MHR); suppliers of performance parts, Dirt Track Nutters (DTN); the original and best for all your WA based Speedway results and updates, and Rob Wells from CTM Recruitment Pty Ltd; the best staffing solutions for Civil, Trade & Mining in Western Australia. 15.01.2022 Bring on the new Season! With COVID-19 bringing a premature end to the 2019/20 summer season and also halting the Winter season temporarily, drivers are chompin...g at the bit to get back out on track and LMRWA are pleased tonight to be able to reveal what the new season will look like. As has been the case for many years now, the calendar will begin in October with the annual Ray Tulk Memorial to be held at Racing Drivers Association of WA Inc - Ellenbrook Speedway on the 10th of October. This event has been running since 2004 and all the drivers will certainly be looking to start the season off with a bang once again! One week later the series heads to the Kellerberrin Speedway Club in what will be the first time ever that the big guns of the Pro Dirt Series have run for the season point score at the track. This will certainly see the cream rise to the top and should be a great twilight show for the LMRWA and the Kellerberrin club. Again, there will be just a week for drivers to get ready again as the Perth Motorplex fires into action on the 24th of October with the now annual Powerpalooza Grand Opening Showdown. The drivers will again return to the Motorplex the weekend after for the fourth Saturday in a row, this time for the Super Speedway Stampede event. The King of Kwinana event on the 14th of November and the City of Kwinana Cup on the 21st of November will follow this, making up rounds five and six of the series. A fortnight off will provide the perfect lead in to the John Day Classic event on the 5th of December followed by a few weeks break again, this time for the festive season before we roar back into life for the Christmas Cup at the Motorplex on Boxing Day to round out 2020. Next up on the list would normally be the Late Model Nationals, Invasion Tour double but with questions around whether visiting drivers would be able to make it to WA to compete, the proposal at this stage is to conduct a three night Nationals event. The first of these nights is slated to be at Ellenbrook Speedway on the 3rd of January, but this event is still to be confirmed, while the Motorplex will host the next two nights, on the following Wednesday and Saturday nights as was the case for last year’s Championship event. From here the final four rounds of the season will be held at the Perth Motorplex: the two night show as we accompany the Australian Sprintcar Title (followed by a break in proceedings here in Western Australia to allow drivers to head East for the Australian Championships), followed by the Silver Cup on the 13th of March and then the awesome Gold Cup Grand Final, again including the retro night aspect which will bring the season to a close on the 27th of March. This gives us a fifteen round Pro Dirt Series for season 2020/21! As is the case so often in the world we now live in, this schedule can be changed at any time, so keep an eye on the LMRWA page for all the latest details. At this stage though, it is full steam ahead, so let’s look forward to another great season of Late Model action here in Western Australia! Release by DTN Media.

07.01.2022 Numbers Increase for Motorplex Opener! The 2020/21 BGC Pro Dirt Series roars back into life this weekend for Round Two, to be held at the Perth Motorplex as par...t of the annual Powerpalooza event! Twenty two nominations have been received for this Saturday night’s event, with a whole list of exciting additions throwing their names into the ring for the show. One of the biggest name additions for this weekend is former Australian Champion Kodee Brown (McCorry Brown Racing Team). After some time out of the seat Brown returned for a couple of shows last year, but this year is looking to be at a few more rounds, starting this weekend and is sure to be a threat. Another who is back in the field this weekend after a significant time out is Matt Nylander. The former Rookie of the Year is back alongside brother David in a two car Nylander Motorsport assault and the duo have both cut some laps at practice in recent weeks as they look to dial in their cars in readiness for this very weekend. Willy Powell has been doing much the same in recent weeks and makes his first appearance for the season on Saturday, joined by rookie Late Model drivers Nathan Richards and former Super Sedan competitor Darren Ahearn (Ahearn Racing W.A), both of whom will be making their first Pro Dirt Series starts. Of course, the additional drivers will have their work cut out for them, with opening round winner Warren Oldfield (Oldfield Racing), Ellenbrook place getters Brent Vosbergen (Team Vosbergen Racing - TVR) and Ken Macpherson (KMM - Ken Macpherson Motorsport) and the veteran Brad Blake just some of the names expected to figure prominently across the evening. Current Australian Champion Kye Blight (Kye Blight Racing) and former Australian Champion Paul Stubber have both nominated and will be looking for more success than in their opening round, while Michael Holmes (Michael Holmes Racing), still aboard the Jock Murray #20 machine and Jay Cardy (Cardy Racing Components) will also be hoping to improve on their opening round results. Add in a whole list of other drivers who are desperate to make their mark including Ameduri, McCann, Amato, Chalmers and Moon amongst others and we have all that is needed to have yet another edge of your seat thriller! 05.01.2022 Winter Series Set To Go! What a long time four months can be! This time four months ago, the LMRWA were releasing the dates for the 2020 Renegade Winter Series,... but due to the world wide situation, we were unable to get underway. Despite the delay, the LMRWA are tonight pleased to announce that the series will be going ahead as planned (pending any changes due to the COVID-19 restrictions!) with a shortened three round format. The 2020 ‘Renegade’ Late Model Winter Series will now kick off at Kellerberrin Speedway on Saturday, the 15th of August. The second and third rounds of the series will both be held at the Racing Drivers Association of WA Inc - Ellenbrook Speedway, on Sunday the 6th and Sunday the 27th of September. As always, a big thanks to Kellerberrin Speedway & Ellenbrook Speedway for their continued support of the series that is so vital to giving our newer drivers the chance to gain experience away from the high pressure environment of the Pro Dirt Series. Remember, this schedule is tentative and could alter once again if the situation here on Western Australia changes. We would once again like to thank our valued series sponsors: Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants; suppliers of racing oils and car care, Michael Holmes from Michael Holmes Racing (MHR), suppliers of performance parts, Dirt Track Nutters (DTN), the original and best for all your WA based Speedway results and updates and Rob Wells from CTM Recruitment Pty Ltd, the best staffing solutions for Civil, Trade & Mining in Western Australia.
