19.01.2022 'Hope' It was really quite an emotional shock to visit Malacoota last week and experience first hand the devistation caused by the bushfires. Majority of the bushland and structures around the town, and extending for hundred's of kilometres has been burnt out and destroyed. Within town there are dozens of homes destroyed, whole streets in some cases. There's not too many spots where you can look around you and not see the tragic effects of the fires in one form or another. I ...was down at the inlet after shooting sunrise one morning and turned behind me to see this small scene, amid surrounding blackened and burnt out forest patches and hillsides. This is truly an amazingly diverse and beautiful location with a community full of resilient, optimistic and hopeful souls.
