24.01.2022 Recently approved Hotel & Apartments designed by MWA on the SE corner of Ann & Chester St Newstead Brisbane being developed by the KENLYNN GROUP. The design was created by stepping two integrated towers over a defined corner commercial element fronting the Ann & Chester St fronts. We chose to define but relate the two tower elements by emphasing the stepped boxed elements of the apartment tower facing north while attaching a 'limpet like' amoebic form to the west & southern f...acades the wraps around the hotel component. We have used a s/s mesh shround as a facade to the whole hotel to provide a series of uses in order to create a visually striking unique semi translucent facade. This structure provides the building w/- solar shading, wind reduction to the glazing behind, a complete safety barrier (deleting handrails) & giving the engineers to design a cost sffective flat plate & column structure allowing management the advantage of cost effectively altering room layouts a s market demands in the future. We are now eagerly awaiting instructions to commence documentation for construction. See more

18.01.2022 This is a current design project we have completed awaiting client initiation incorporating a variable mix of 43 apartments & 90 hotel rooms w/- roof top pool & function area plus Gym. The design situated on a prominent corner site incorporates a 2 level basement providing 88 car spaces plus additional apartment storage space. The ground level incorporates separate apartment & hotel lobby with cafe/restaurant. The first floor provides for function rooms, boardroom facilities ...& business centre for hotel guest use. The design incorporates extensive use of vertical sunshade blades on the North & NWest facade allowing good natural daylighting & heat gain control as well as providing a wavy decorative pattern to the building facade. We have deliberately broken the facade into 2 towers to delineate between the apartment tower on the NE corner & the hotel tower on Ann St both being placed above the 2 storey landscaped podium.
