22.01.2022 Doncaster Bistro at the Scone RSL The Doncaster Bistro is still open and has implemented takeaway orders over the phone and a home delivery service under the new government guidelines. Our popular menu and a couple of meal deals are listed below. We are also offering a pay over the phone with a card service as well. Just give us a call on 65451669 and press the Doncaster Bistro option to be transfered to our friendly staff to place your order.... Lunch hours 12-2pm We are offering any of our Asian lunch meal deals for just $8.50. Dinner Hours 5-8pm $50 family dinner meal 1 large fried or boiled rice 3 main dish selections (Excludes seafood dishes) $30 dinner for two 1 large fried or boiled rice 2 main dish selections ( Excludes seafood dishes) or choose from our menu listed below. Kids meals available Unfortunately no Aussie meals or dessert is available Home delivery will be free for orders over $50 and incur a $3 charge for those orders under $50. If you choose to pick -up your order we implore you to please practice social distancing as required under government regulations.

21.01.2022 Important message to members. As of today the club will reopen under strict guidelines from the Department of health. We will be operating two areas with a maximum of 50 people allowed in each area. The two areas will be the main bar and the alfresco, tab lounge and gaming areas. Both areas will be separated and there will be no patron movement between these areas. We will also require that once you have entered one area of the club you will not be able to gain access to the ...other area on that day. Both areas will have access to keno and tab with only one area having gaming machines. Both areas will have seperate entrances and by law all patrons are required to sign in when entering either areas. This sign in procedure applies to both members and visitors and is a condition to anyone entering the club. The club will be enforcing social distancing across the whole venue and we hope everyone is understanding if asked to comply with this condition. All drinks and meals must be consumed at a table and we ask that everyone complies with this condition. To start with, entry will only be available to members with this condition to be reviewed daily. We will be observing strict sanitation protocols throughout the entire club and we will be asking for your help in observing any request from our staff. We hope to be open at approximately 4pm today and I will provide further updates on this time throughout the day. Finally we can't wait to see all your faces again and hope that you show patience with our policies during this next period at the club.

21.01.2022 How long since you have had a $3.00 schooner just be at the club between 5-7pm to try a nice frosty one during members happy hour. Due to renovations in the foyer entry to the club is at the back of the club off the car park.

20.01.2022 Hi Guys, The Doncaster Bistro will be closed tomorrow for Good Friday. Meals will be available for the rest of the weekend including Monday. Stay Safe.

19.01.2022 Hi guys, with the news from the state government regarding the easing of restrictions we are getting closer to seeing your smiling faces. Under level 1 we are allowed to open our restuarant for 10 people only and serve drinks to the table. After consultation with Ray (our caterer) he has decided that at this stage he will not be opening the restaurant. He will still continue to offer his takeaway and home delivery meals 7 days a week. 18.01.2022 Thank God its Friday!! Though you can't come in for a $3 schooner you can still get takeaway or home delivery from the Doncaster Bistro. 16.01.2022 Hi Guys, As most of you are probably aware the club will be closing as of 12pm today. The Sporties will be closing as of today as well. At this stage the Donca...ster Bistro will continue to offer takeaways only. What we would like is that all takeaway orders be placed via phone prior to attending the club. This can be done by ringing 65451669 and selecting the Doncaster Bistro. Whilst picking your meal up we urge you to practice the government guidelines on social distancing and if at all possible pay via card. We don't know how long this will continue but in the meantime I send best wishes and good luck to all our members and guests and pray everyone stays safe during this uncertain period. Cheers

15.01.2022 Further information for our members: As of today the clubs courtesy bus has been cancelled. The Club has taken this extreme measure due to the proximity of people in an enclosed space. Upper Hunter rideshare are still operating and can be contacted on 0418376016. A reminder to all our members that all badge draws and consolation draws have been suspended.... All raffles have been suspended. Though the restaurant is trading as normal we have limited the restaurant area to 88 people and on Friday and Saturday nights the area will be segregated off from the main lounge area. The Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday buffets have been suspended. Numbers in our rooms will be strictly monitored and though we may offend some people, if we reach 100 in any room people will be asked to leave The Club has initiated these measures to try and reduce safety risks for all our staff and members. We once again stress the need for any staff or members feeling unwell to not come to the club, we also stress to our more vulnerable members to rethink their visit to the club in the immediate future. They are still offering free delivery for orders over $50 and for all other orders a delivery fee of $3. Due to popular demand the bistro is now offering BBQ Chicken, Pepperoni and Hawaiin pizzas for just $15. Plus Hot chips $5 and garlic bread $5. 13.01.2022 As of today the club is back opening from 10am daily. Also the courtesy bus will now be operating from 5-9pm Friday and Saturdays. Just ring the club on 65451669 for pick up.

11.01.2022 With the new catering operations starting tomorrow at the Sporties bar operations will also commence at the Sporties tomorrow. Trading hours will be 11.30am-2.30pm Mondays. 11.30am-2.30pm 4pm-8.30pm Tuesdays. 11.30am-req. Wednesday to Friday and 10am-req. Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you there.

With the announcement by the government today regarding the lifting of capacity numbers, I'm pleased to announce that from next Wednesday we will begin our Xmas ham raffles. Wednesday the 9th of December: 30 x 1/2 hams. Friday the 11th of December: 50 x 1/2 hams. Wednesday the 16th of December: 30 x 1/2 hams... Friday the 18th of December: 50 x 1/2 hams Saturday the 19th of December: 50 x 1/2 hams plus 20 turkey breast fillets. Wednesday the 23rd of December: 20 x 1/2 hams. Hope to see you here. 07.01.2022 So another week gone and another week closer to opening. We can't wait to see everyones faces and we have been busy while we have been waiting. Old carpet has been pulled up ready for new carpet, tiles around the bar pulled up ready for new tiles and painting getting done before the carpet is laid. I would also like to inform our members that Jess Wilcher one of our bar manager's had a baby boy this morning and they named him Korbin. Congratulations Jess from everyone at the club. 06.01.2022 I would like to introduce Mentin Edis and Peter Baldwin who will commence operations of the Mitanni Cafe and Restaurant on Tuesday the 17th of November at the Sporties. The cafe opening hours will be 8am-2.30pm Mondays. 8am-2.30pm 5.30pm-8.30pm Tuesday-Friday and 8am-8.30pm Saturday and Sunday. 06.01.2022 Riddle: Where is the dollar? 3 guys go into a pub looking for a room. They get charged $30, book in and go back to the bar. The boys settle in knocking back a few schooners over the next couple of hours. The publican walks in and see's them at the end of the bar. He asks the bar attendant who they are and is informed they are staying the night and they are really helping bar sales. The publican asks the bar attendant to give them back $5 on their room charge. The bar attendant approaches the guys and tells them what the publican had said and then says "As $5 won't split between 3 people why don't I give you a $1 each and I'll keep the $2 as a tip. The guys agree and each get the dollar back. So each guy ends up paying $9 and the bar attendant gets $2. 3 x $9 =$27 + $2 = $29 Where is the missing dollar?

03.01.2022 In line with the NSW governments easing of restriction requirements, the club is implementing a contactless sign in. To make it easier and quicker for our members to sign in we are asking that our members download the service NSW app prior to attending the club to streamline our sign in process. Cheers.

02.01.2022 Don't forget our Xmas ham raffles starting tomorrow night with 30 1/2 hams up for grabs. Tickets on sale at 6.30pm draw starts at 7.30pm. As well as the raffle, the restaurant will be offering a $15 per person ($17 non member) Chinese smorgasbord served individually to patrons. ( Due to Covid restrictions the smorgasbord will be served to you by our staff).

02.01.2022 Just because we are not open tomorrow doesn't mean we can't pay our respects to our heroes and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Just grab a candle, torch or even your mobile phone and stand at the end of your driveway at 6am to reflect. Lest we Forget.
