21.01.2022 ^ML Concentrate!!!

13.01.2022 It's been a while. Here's a photo of Clay Ford playing with Welcome to Television.

11.01.2022 So Jeremie Ross and a few other people have suggested that I spend a bit more time discussing how some of my photographs were made. I normally shoot people and weirdly find it uncomfortable to shoot inanimate objects. This image was shot on the bridge between Mall of Asia and the Riverside Walk in Manila Bay as I was coming back to catch a cab. My assignment was to compare a Phase One 645DF and a Fuji X series mirrorless 4/3 camera. I shot this balancing 440g of Fuji on a bridge handrail - something I wouldn't have been able to do with a Phase which is over 1kg with a back and a decent lens. This is a 5sec exposure, which again - I couldn't do (couldn't keep it still for that long, and I would have needed to do some technical wizardry to keep the shutter open that long). So here I present to you Manila Bay shot from MOA!

10.01.2022 This is one of my favourite shots and it's one that was early into me switching to models (over musicians). Lindah Sriamporn is the model here and she has always been so amazing to work with. For the gearhead, this was shot with a Nikon D300s and an Alienbee with a large Octabox lighting Lindah's face. Facebook renders it poorly but this image is barely retouched - there is a level of perfection that comes from having such a huge diffused light source. You can see the Octa in Lindah's large ring. But ultimately - for all the years I spent shooting glamour and fashion it's the models, makeup artists, hair stylists and the designers who gave me lovely jewellery or clothing to work with, that really made this easy.

01.01.2022 Shot with Phase One 645 + 80mm with long shutter speed and two speedlights!
