25.01.2022 I made an early start today. Well - early by my standards, anyway. This is Cabbagetree Creek and the marina at Shorncliffe, Brisbane. Painted from a series of photos I took there on Monday night. Just being there was a wonderful experience. And happily for me, I have loads more from that outing. Acrylic on board, 16 x 20 inches. Hopefully I'll get this one framed in time for my show at Aspire Gallery in October.
25.01.2022 Finished today, acrylic on panel, 12 x 24 inches. Adelaide Street in the rain.
25.01.2022 I never got around to taking a photo of the finished version of this150x60cms commission of a family at Shorncliffe, Brisbane. This is the best I have. I delivered the painting yesterday and the client was delighted :-) Her reaction made it all worthwhile! Normally I would overlap a figure somewhere, but as it was a specific family group I didn't see that as an option. It's years since I accepted a commission, and although I'm very pleased with the finished work, it's not what I choose to do. It'll be many years before I accept another. I should add that the client was wonderful and well aware of my reluctance to accept commissions. She gave me free rein with the arrangement and interpretation, and was far and away the best client I've ever encountered!
24.01.2022 I would have posted this to my Art page, but for some silly reason Facebook wouldn't allow more than one image in the post, unless it was posted to an album.
