19.01.2022 The recent Josephville Bridge replacement, costing over $4 million, has provided safe all weather access to our farming community and Industry without load limits restrictions. Thanks to a great partnership with the Australian Government’s Bridge Renewal Program and the Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Capital Work Program, we have delivered another piece of critical infrastructure that will last for the next 100 years.

18.01.2022 What an amazing community! Today’s community planting day alongside Kooralbyn’s Boomerang Lagoon was an amazing success through the great efforts of so many people. Special thanks to Stefan Hattingh for his knowledge and expertise. This project could not have happened without your vision, coordination and assistance. ... I’m very proud to support this wonderful project through Council’s Environmental Grants program. The day was so complete with the opportunity to purchase Memorial Plaques. Adrian Sandell was kept very busy all morning with this very special tribute. Thanks also to Ian for providing the wonderful music throughout the morning. It was perfect!

18.01.2022 More than ever before, we need to create a space for our community to come together, to encourage visitors to stop and shop in our town and to provide a central location to be a driver for economic and social activity. The Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation Project is the most exciting community development project for our town centre in decades, perhaps since the Beaudesert Civic Centre was built in 1958. This five stage project also addresses several legacy issues for Br...isbane Street with a changing focus on providing a more welcoming pedestrian environment, a 25% net increase in car parking with improved traffic flows, resolving the flooding of our town centre and activating Davidson Park and the CBD into a high value precinct that will become a meeting place and area of economic and social interaction. Now more than ever, we need continuity of our Council to deliver this vision for our town and region. Let’s keep the momentum going!

17.01.2022 While the preliminary vote count looks encouraging and the official recount is happening now, it’s a good time to recognise and thank the wonderful group of people who have assisted me during this election campaign. My number one supporter, not just during this campaign but over the last 34 years, is my dear wife Jen. She has supported, encouraged and advised me throughout this last term and her support has enabled me to carry out this demanding role. It has been a privilege... to have had wonderful people on my election committee who gave so generously of their time to guide, support, encourage and assist me through this challenging process. I would like to acknowledge their amazing support and assistance that has been given to myself and Jen through this election campaign. I am so grateful to so many family and friends. Your assistance with the letterbox deliveries and the early voting duties were amazing and I am so grateful that you would spend your valuable spare time assisting me. I consider myself to be a very lucky person to have had the privilege of their support and assistance over the last couple of months leading up to this election. It is because of people like you who demonstrate your generosity of spirit and giving of your time, that I love what I do in supporting this wonderful community. Thank you!

17.01.2022 Interesting times! After one long and hot week on the William Street footpath during Early Voting, with the threat of Coronavirus all around, the Electoral Commission Qld have announced a directive tonight that All persons are prohibited from canvassing for votes or distributing how-to-vote cards and election material at a polling booth. We welcome this decision due to the increasing concern within the community at the risk of transmitting and contracting the Coronavirus.... Thanks to everyone who have visited the Polling Booth this week. Your interest in and support for who represents this division and leads the Council for the next 4 years has been appreciated. If you would like to meet or discuss my vision for the future of this division and the region, please contact me by (M) 0408 788 544 or (E) [email protected] I would be delighted to share with you. Thank you to my wonderful group of supporters who have assisted me through this campaign. Your support has been amazing and very much appreciated.

05.01.2022 We are living in interesting times. In an effort to play our part in social distancing and to minimise the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus within our community during the Early Voting time, I have provided a digital image of my ‘How to Vote’ card. 05.01.2022 Congratulations to the Kooralbyn Valley RSL Sub Branch for today’s fitting service to commemorate 102 years since the armistice was signed by the Allied powers to end what is now known as World War 1. 03.01.2022 I’m thrilled to learn today that Council’s grant application for the replacement of the Hinchcliffe Bridge at Kooralbyn was successful. Through the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Program, Council will receive 50% co-contribution towards the replacement of the old timber bridge with a two-lane concrete structure that will be raised for improved access in all weather conditions. This funding will enable Council to bring forward this bridge replacement by a couple of year...s as well as save around $2 million of ratepayer funds. Thanks to Scott Buchholz MP and the Australian Government for their continued support for our extensive bridge replacement program.

01.01.2022 Our Local Economy is one of the pillars of our community - providing jobs for locals, growing business and industries for a stronger future. Whether it’s the micro economies of the Beaudesert & Kooralbyn Markets, or the small to medium sized businesses that drive our town, I’ve been a part of, and supporting local businesses all my life. I’m very excited at the opportunities that will come with Council’s expansion of the Beaudesert Business Park, with the extension of Enterp...rise Drive, starting this year! 34 new Industrial lots to grow businesses and jobs! Special thanks to the many local businesses that provided high quality, well priced and timely delivery of all of my election promotion material and services.
