10.10.2021 Michael Grear preparing and marking ready for the "Road To Christmas". Just what a surveyor is good at... measuring! The Road to Christmas would be a fun way to celebrate Christmas in 2021. Seeds Uniting Church (Aberfoyle Park) carpark is transformed into the streets of Bethlehem. Free and fun. Friday 17th and Sat 18th 7pm- 9pm (or anytime in between)... "The event features Roman centurions, Herod, Jewish dancing, tax collectors, beggars & lepers, royal wise men, shepherds and of course, Joseph, Mary & Jesus. A large set in the car park ‘sets’ the scene as first century Bethlehem. There will be first century food to try and the opportunity for children to have a go at weaving, pottery and woodwork. Storytellers continuously share the story of Christmas in the nativity - hear the story in the stable with the manger, hay bales and Joseph, Mary & Jesus." Terrestrial 3D Laser Scanning provides "rich" survey information that accurately reflects the shapes and sizes of what is currently there, allowing great confidence when designing new items to fit. The point clouds allow the modelling of surfaces of features, or cross sections can be generated through the model at any location. What great information for engineers/ architects/ surveyors/ archaeologists/ builders/ scientists to analyse..., design and interrogate in ways not possible before. Items can be designed and built off site, brought in and confidently fitted on site, even with the most complex of shapes.
