27.01.2022 After scrutineering in the counting room today we are still waiting for a clear result... At this stage it looks like coming down to last postal votes and possibly preferences. It may be another couple of days before we know an outcome; many thanks for all the positive feedback and comments so far

25.01.2022 Agriculture - our Past and our Future.. As our region continues to grow its traditional crops such as Maize, and we see the expansion in new options like Blueberries, it is a reminder of the enormous value of the industry to the Tablelands. At last count it was $150M per annum for the TRC area and the sector employed over 1,000 people long term. ... It is essential that this continue; that our reputation as the food bowl of the region continue to grow and that local government remains supportive as well as take strategic steps to minimise impacts from the ongoing urban growth. These decisions need to continue to be made now for the long term benefit of everyone. Our agricultural past is a key part of our future; this will be driven by our experienced and innovative farmers and graziers but also needs council vision and support.

25.01.2022 Running for council has been a wonderful experience and the first part is nearly finished, almost time to wait and see.... One of the things I am most grateful for is the support of my immediate and extended family, it has been a shared journey which reflects all the things that family represents..

22.01.2022 Speaking at the Malanda Chamber of Commerce forum last night with the Mayoral, Division 3 and 4 candidates, I certainly appreciated the opportunity and thank the Chamber for their work in bringing it together. Key issues that people continue to raise with me are; - Security of land and water for agriculture - Roads and Drainage; clearer prioritisation of work... - Collaboration and respect both by and for Council, including listening and following up. - Family and Community; how to make sure we don't lose our community identity If you have issues you would like to raise please let me know so I can take them forwards for you and ensure that they are heard

22.01.2022 A great first day of pre-polling for the TRC elections, the corflute collection that we've all contributed too

22.01.2022 I will be at the Tolga markets tomorrow morning; please feel free to drop in and tell me what is important to you regarding Council matters or other issues, or ask any questions you may have.

22.01.2022 Beautiful afternoon at Tinaburra

21.01.2022 The final candidate information has been put up in various places but here is the official link. 4 weeks tomorrow...

19.01.2022 A great opportunity to join the Yungaburra Lioness Club members tomorrow morning (Sat 20th Feb @ 10am) at Maud Kehoe Park in Yungaburra for the opening of the new playground! Unfortunately I won't be able to be there but I have very fond memories of my own children playing on the old playground; this fantastic new addition will give the next generations even more to climb and slide on right in the middle of town :) A huge congratulations to the Lionesses and all who helped with the project!

19.01.2022 No doubt like all candidates, I found the process of asking residents to sign my nomination quite humbling; it reinforces how important the role of Councillor is and the level of trust that we need to have in those that will represent us. It’s one step in this journey of being able to serve not only the residents in our respective divisions, but also the Tablelands Regional Council area as a whole, all the way through to the strategic partnerships that we need with our neighbouring council areas. All of these are important for us to leave the region a better place to live...

18.01.2022 I'll be outside the Yungaburra Foodworks tomorrow morning, drop in and let me know what your issues are, to check what division you're in or or just for a chat. I look forward to catching up..

17.01.2022 Many thanks to Foodworks Yungaburra and Peony Rose Collection. for allowing me to take up space in their carpark today and to be available to discuss Division 4 issues with some great people. And a big thank you to Nicks Swiss-Italian Restaurant for providing me with lunch! Great local businesses in our wonderful community; come down and support them if you can...

16.01.2022 Another strong example of innovative practices by Tableland's farmers which increase productivity and improve outcomes..

14.01.2022 Tourism A small part of our past and large part of our future A perfect fit with our strong agricultural industry, leveraging off the clean and green image that the Tablelands has as well as the range of high quality value adding products which continue to expand across our area. From $53M/520,000 visitors across the Atherton Tablelands in 2007 to $123M/790,000 visitors in 2013/2014, the industry continues to grow rapidly, employing over 5% of our total workforce. ... As a region we are blessed with a magnificent array of natural beauty. Stunning locations and amazing wildlife through to gourmet food and wine trails;, exponential growth in adventure tourism such as Mountain Biking and growing interest in areas like Military and Arts and Crafts trails. Just a part of the overall picture Many decisions made by local government impact on this growth, from maintaining a regional perspective and long term vision to being actively involved in Tourism, through to the processes that are involved in our businesses being able to grow and expand to meet demand, it is important that we have a strong understanding of the industry and how it can increase the prosperity and longevity of our region.

13.01.2022 Beautiful view over the Seven Sisters from the Lake Eacham/Malanda road..

09.01.2022 As my corflutes go up, they outline the three key values that underpin why I am running for council; - Leadership - Respect & - Growth... I'll expand on each of these over the next couple of days; what they mean and why they are important to me individually, our council and our region..

05.01.2022 Congratulations to all candidates who attended the Atherton Tablelands Chamber of Commerce Inc. and Tropical Tablelands Tourism forum last night in Atherton. 200 people heard us all put forward our thoughts and ideas on the future of our region; it is exciting to have such a strong field overall. Leadership, Respect and Growth are the consistent values that underpin my campaign and I look forward to sharing more about them.

05.01.2022 With the current work by the TRC and neighbouring shires furthering investigation of the Southern Atherton Tablelands Development Scheme; this article makes some crucial points that I'm sure will be considered as the project potential is explored. Certainly in the 21st century a project must be worthwhile across economic, environmental and community values; as well as simply leave our region a better place to live..
