25.01.2022 My 8 month sober transformation. Covid got the best of me and I let myself go a bit. I had enough and found Allan Carr's stop drinking now and David Goggin "Can't Hurt Me" books 8 months ago and it changed my life. I have had a 30kg weight loss and really changed my life style. I was always someone who trained hard but had a poor lifestyle with exogenous substances drinking and stimulants etc. In 7 months I made these changes. - Been sober for 8 months (drinking is the w...orst, increases cortisol the stress hormone and reduces quality sleep and add calories) - destressed my life and focussed on my mantra "train hard, work hard, rest hard" - cleaned up my diet. - journaled and meditated everyday -stretched everyday -sensible eating with plenty of veges and protien. -this was all done completely natural no ped's or stimulants. -weight training remained the same My key point is you need to be as diligent at working on the obtaining Para sympathetic state (relaxed and non stressed mode) as you do the sympathetic state(training like a beast or flight or flight state) or you will be limiting your results like I did. Stay hard my friends. This is my routine. Firstly I read : Goggins. Can't hurt me Allan Carr - easy way to stop drinking Lewis Howe - mask of masculinity James clear - atomic habits. All four books had a dramatic impact on my transformation. Routine is: 4am wake up 4:05am write in journal and drink a green tea 4:15am meditate for 10 mins 4:30am train in my home gym for 45mins (3 way split 6 days a week. Training for hypertrophy) 5:20am 1 hour of work and walk on the treadmill 3.5kmm/hr so slow for an hour at the same time(I made a treadmill desk) 6:20 stretch 6:30 have a protien meal. 8am to 12pm work 12pm first meal of tuna and salad 12:30pm to 2pm work. 2pm pm walk on the treadmill and work on my treadmill desk for an hour 3.5km/hour 3 to 4pm work 4pm nuts and an apple. 6pm dinner steak, carbs and veges 7pm camamile tea and some biscuits and protien drink lol 8pm sleep. Risne and repeat.

24.01.2022 Cognitive coffee Everyday I habit stack by doing my morning bathroom ritual with solving the rubix cube. (so if your at my house don't use my rubix cube )... Like exercising at 4:30am I like to start my day with what I like to call my "cognitive coffee". Instead of scrolling social media when I use the toilet I like to exercise my brain. It helps get your brain moving!! I like to think of the rubix cube as a metophor for health and fitness in these ways: Like fitness the to solve the rubix cube you have to have a consistent habit and displine to put in the reps. Like fitness the rubix cube has underlying and fundamental principles be successful. No matter what variables are presented to you, you can always solve the puzzle ( fitness or the rubix cube) if you follow to above two principles. (3x3x3 Rubik's cube has 43 252 003 274 489 856 000 combinations, or 43 quintillion!) The lesson is you will always have variables in your life that affect your fitness and health (e.g. Life, career, family, time, money, injuries) but if you learn the fundamental principles of fitness and you have the displine to put the in reps no variable will stop you! 24.01.2022 Now that I work mostly from home I decided to stack my habits. Instead of always sitting behind my desk I decided to build a treadmill desk to allow me to keep active at times during the day. Walking at a low speed eg. 2-3km per/hr for an hour a day will keep me in a Para-sympathetic state (non stressed) but still add to my steps per day and keep me moving. Train smarter and keep it simple.

16.01.2022 Fitness tip: The pedometer (fitbit) for exercise adherence and motivation. The pic below believe it or not is my greatest fitness achievement. 50000 steps in a day was no easy undertaking but fun none the less. ... I have been using a pedometer for the last 5 years and it has really changed my life! I find the productivity and data that it provides allows me to to compete against myself everyday. The results of two recent independent meta-analyses focused on pedometerbased programmes conclude that they work; that is, they are effective. Specifically, physical activity increases while blood pressure and weight decrease as a result of participating in a pedometer-based intervention. If your after a simple and really effective way to get your health on track invest in a pedometer. You will gain a great knowledge of your: Sleep Heartrate Steps Calories Most also have the ability to link to many fitness apps My fitness pal etc. I find it the best way to keep myself accountable and maintain a high level of incidental exercise.
