25.01.2022 Portable USB Drives are handy but they aren't reliable. Make sure your important photos and documents aren't stored on a single USB drive.

25.01.2022 This is a SCAM! I had a client call this number as they were concerned about this message that popped up. When you call this number, the operator will try to convince you to purchase $300 worth of anti-virus as your Apple device is infected. They will become pushy and make threats if you don’t go through with the payment.... If you see this messae, close it and ignore it.

23.01.2022 Another reminder to keep your devices up to date with the latest patches. This includes WiFi access points at home and businesses. I like to recommend Ubiquiti products as they are not only good value for money, but also stay on top of security flaws.

20.01.2022 Be aware, this is another example of a phishing email, trying to trick you into entering your username/password. In this example, there is an attachment of another email which contains the links to the phishing site. Apart from looking dodgy straight away, you will notice a generic email address in the TO: line.

19.01.2022 These phishing emails are designed to trick you into clicking the malicious link in the email. The idea behind this email is to make you think someone has purchased something that you didn't authorise. If you click this link, you will be redirect to a login page that looks like identical to the Apple login page.... Always check the sender address and the hyperlink in the email. Both of these are highlighted in the picture and standout as a scam!

18.01.2022 Always be weary of any email that asks you to click on a link. Here’s another scam that gets passed the junk mail filter. I’ve highlighted a couple of points to look out for, including the sender name and the hyperlink under the ‘View PDF Message’ text.

14.01.2022 All users must expressly consent to Facebook’s terms and data policy when registering for Facebook, the company said. Take the time to understand what information you are handing over to Facebook by accepting their terms and data policy, this happens to include access to your call logs and SMS history. https://ia.acs.org.au//facebook-finally-responds-to-congre

11.01.2022 Don't click on random links in Facebook messenger. Particularly video files that redirect you to a Google Docs link. https://securelist.com/new-multi-platform-malwareadware-spr

10.01.2022 Be aware of the eFax scam. You will notice this scam targets Australians with the subject claiming a new fax is from +61288837670 You will notice this email has a dodgy TO/FROM email address, and a direct link to a phishing site when you hover over the View PDF.Message hyperlink.... Just remember to look for the 'dodgyness' before you click any links.

04.01.2022 Be careful of malicious emails that try to trick you into clicking a link. These are all scams designed to either infect you with a virus or phish for your passwords. Some can be very sneaky at looking legitimate. * If it looks like a scam, delete it * Hover over the hyperlinks before you click. Malicious emails will usually point to an obscure web address ... * Avoid clicking any links in emails unless you trust it is safe * Check the from email matches the trusted source. In this example they tried to get sneaky 365.net at the end. However 1drive-omni365.net is not the trusted domain Microsoft uses. Feel free to get in contact with me if you come across an email that you're not sure about.

03.01.2022 If your email address appears on this website, change all your passwords immediately. Hackers use this list of compromised credentials to impersonate you and steal your money via PayPal/eBay etc. https://haveibeenpwned.com/

02.01.2022 Don't get caught out by those expensive installation charges I can help

01.01.2022 Be aware of cyber blackmail! Recently there has been a surge of blackmail emails targeting corporate email addresses. The attacker explains they have video footage of you and they will send it to all of your contacts unless you pay the ransom. This type of blackmail has been around for a long time, however, the latest surge focuses on corporate email addresses in an attempt to make the blackmail more believable.... Do NOT comply with the request and certainly do not reply to the email, delete it.
