25.01.2022 This morning at sunrise my friend Adam and I were the highest people on mainland Australia. Skinned from Kosciusko Lookout to the summit, watched the sunrise and then skied back down to Thredbo. Snow up high was hard-packed and wind-affected but still fun and the sunrise and scenery was awesome.... 24.01.2022 Anyone want to come and run in the isolation running festival Hoka? They will also be showing my film on Saturday night.

24.01.2022 Oh yeah! Definitely adding THIS to the "Things to do in isolation" list! #nosport #coronavirus #nearlyleglessmick

20.01.2022 Every cloud has a silver lining...

20.01.2022 Every time I read "COVID-19 will only be fatal to...." and "Most people will only get mild symptoms" I wince. As a two-time cancer survivor, I know what it's like to have my immune system pummeled... gladly without the added threat of a global pandemic. It could have been me or you or someone you love.. it's just timing. I can imagine the fear and worry those currently undergoing treatment are experiencing. We must all do our best to protect each other, especially the most vulnerable because they are not expendable in this fight. Please read Mary's story and take her message with you wherever you go.

18.01.2022 . Some shots from a ski camping trip. After an average winter and a warm spring it looked like ski adventures were done but winter often has a last throw of the dice and about 50cm of good quality snow fell for us to get back out for and end of season play. My daughter and I got out the camping gear and headed out to nth Ramshead, the 6th highest peak in Australia at 2177m. Some amazing weather with almost no wind and a cold clear night makes this a great first snow camping experience. Hopefully we get some runs in this morning before heading home

16.01.2022 Tough times for many friends this week with the one year to go to Tokyo. This video is worth a watch.

16.01.2022 Keep some balance in your life!

12.01.2022 "Closing time". After 17 years as a Toyota ambassador today is my last day. It has been an amazing relationship that I am very grateful for. I still remember my excitement when they first called me, when I picked up my first car and every time they renewed my contract after that. I feel like Toyota has been with me for some of the biggest moments in my life and some of them (not all of them good) happened IN a Kluger:... Calling my mum to tell her I was getting married My first time fitting a child seat (incidentally bought by the Toyota team as a gift when we were expecting our first child) Bringing both my kids home from hospital after they were born Gathering myself after finding out I had cancer and, many months later, banging the steering wheel when I found out I had the all-clear Piling the kids into the car for their first trip to the snow Sleeping in the car for overnight ski trips Collapsing into the car after finishing the Gold Coast Marathon and again after the Ultra Trail Marathon Cleaning vomit off the dog, the kids and every other surface inside the car after a particularly awful incident with a cherry (of course, our Klugers have all experienced particularly nasty vomiting incidents but this one stands out) Finding three eggs in the glove box that had myseriously disappeared three weeks before. I also have many great memories of driving a Toyota Kluger all over the place, listening to music, first on my own and then with my family. The Kluger has been the perfect car for me skiing and driving in the snow, lugging sporting equipment and bikes around and going on holidays with my family. I will be a Toyota driver for life and hope to be driving a Toyota Hiace van around soon for work. #klugerlove Toyota Motor Corporation Australia #family #sograteful #endofanera #Toyotatalent

11.01.2022 Out for a nice walk and sunset.

10.01.2022 Happy FIRST Birthday COUCH Wellness Centre. I firmly believe that one of the keys to surviving cancer is to have a great team around you. This is especially important in regional areas. I am so proud to have contributed in some small way to the creation of this amazing centre in Cairns. Congratulations guys.... #cancercare #regionalhealth #localsupport #cancersurvivor

08.01.2022 It might have been tough to get out of bed and pretty cold also but it was definitely worth it today.

08.01.2022 20 years ago. Was such a buzz carrying the torch at the opening ceremony!

06.01.2022 Running a 50km ultra-marathon in Australia's rugged Blue Mountains was tough .. physically and mentally. The challenges just kept coming, even while I was training for the attempt.. and the whole thing was amost derailed the day before. BEST FOOT FORWARD featured in the Trails in Motion Film Festival with over 30 screenings around the world and now you can see it here for free. I am so excited to share it with you. A big shout-out to Red Gadget Films who said yes from the ...moment we met and were professional and committed throughout and to my running mates (you'll see them in the film as well). Tom and Alina from Ultra-Trail Australia and AROCSport were on board as soon as I mentioned running in their event and were always ready to pour over course maps with me... not that it did any good in the end! Thanks to my supporters Mont Adventure Equipment and HOKA ONE ONE for keeping me dry, warm and comfortable, not just for this challenge but during all the crazy stuff I do. And, of course, to Toyota Australia for their sponsorship over many many years and the Kluger which I love. Enjoy! And, if you have any questions or comments, drop them in this feed and I will do my best to answer them honestly. If you are inspired by this film, perhaps others will be too so please share it. I am open to bookings as a speaker for conferences, events and meetings which can be done in person or online. Just PM this page. https://youtu.be/mVAl99pAacY

05.01.2022 With so much time spent reading coronavirus news and worrying about life and the future I wanted to write about and remind myself and others about what we should be doing in the coming months to maintain our balance in life. I have had conversations with people about how great it would be to be in lockdown and unable to work, while it does hold a certain appeal to imagine days on end lazing around watching movies I don’t think this is good for any of us physically or mentally.... So here is my thrown together thoughts at 4am in the morning of low risk things to do while in lockdown. 1. Remember that self isolation does not have to be in your house get out and enjoy nature, walk, ride, kayak etc.. Just do it on your own and stay away from other people, there is plenty of space out there. Go and use it. 2. There is definitely a temptation to get stuck on a screen watching the news at the moment and although I agree that understanding what is going on is important, it is also important to be able to manage how much time this consumes. Too much is not good for your head. Find some other things to do use your time to cook a tasty and healthy meal, do some craft, puzzles or play some board games. What about reading a book, I know it has been a while for me and I might just have to go back and read Harry Potter again. 3. It is maybe a great time to get back to things that you used to enjoy, what about a long phone call with a friend? We all need to maintain social interaction and if we can’t do it face to face then my 2nd best option is an old fashioned phone call for an hour or two. 4. Sleep one of my other important habits is to get a good nights sleep. The stress and some of the above traps can all have a negative impact on your own sleep patterns. Try and maintain these even if you don’t have to get up and get to work on time. Have you got any tips to add? Let me know as we all try and navigate this time and maintain our sanity together. P.S. please don’t suggest that you spend your time admiring your toilet roll collection.
