25.01.2022 BEFORE and AFTER The valley gutter tiles at this Werribee property needed maintenance / repair work to stop a leak inside. See the difference after our roof tiler worked his magic.

24.01.2022 Heres the (previously mentioned) Altona North home with the roofing work all finished. External gutters and down pipes replaced with COLORBOND steel Valley gutters also replaced with Colorbond... Ridge / hip capping all rebedded and pointed And this roof is now all ready for rainy days and winter weather.

23.01.2022 Michael installed a wide Ubi Flex flashing to prevent water overflowing the roof tiles. And therefore fix a leak.

20.01.2022 Monday morning sentiments ...

20.01.2022 Trick or treat!

19.01.2022 Today, in the Michael Parnaby Trade household, we celebrate this spirited little chickens 3rd birthday And take a moment to reflect how QUICKLY this time has gone. She has enjoyed a massive number 3 balloon, cakey-treats and a fun activity or two.... Happy Birthday Aislin. Our world would not be the same without you.

19.01.2022 Fairly sure Michael isnt using organic hand cream. Beard oil perhaps? No judgement here.

19.01.2022 Canmaster Smash was playing in the city today. Maybe Michael should be putting his goods to better use? Although the Canmaster clearly has far superior rhythm. This is a fabulous example of Reuse Repurpose Recycle!

16.01.2022 Enjoying the sunshine while laying sheets (then flashings and gutters) to a multi vehicle carport today.

16.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day Michael! And to all the other fathers out there. But we havent forgotten about those for whom this isnt an easy day. You are in our thoughts.

15.01.2022 Accepting a material delivery.

14.01.2022 Off duty Michael. Do you enjoy a family card / board games experience? Michael is ALL about that strategy.

14.01.2022 Stay safe four legged friends! It's supposed to get seriously windy today. Really wishing we'd removed those towels from the washing line now.

14.01.2022 I think the weather is trying extra hard at the moment to remind us that we do in fact live in Melbourne. Yesterday, Michael was installing some new downpipes at this Williamstown property. There was cloud, sunshine, rain, cloud, rain, sunshine ... a coffee delivered by someone lovely. Then a bit more rain.

13.01.2022 We never said our humour was good humour ... But seriously now, its Saturday evening ... whats your TV of choice? Netflix? Stan? Foxtel?... And what shows are you watching?

13.01.2022 Sometimes its the little things right? Well ... that little(ish) strip of dark grey spanning from the back of the flashing under the tile above has stopped a leak. You see ... the vent pipes lead flashing didnt have enough lap and was allowing water to sneak into the ceiling cavity. So we used a product thats compatible with the lead and just extended it up.

13.01.2022 So a delegation from MPT stuck in a brief visit to the Terracotta Warriors + Cai Guo-Qiang exhibition this weekend, and spied these ancient roof tiles (the round pieces mounted in the top row). They are obviously amazing resilient, and very detailed too - each showcases a different motif including dragons and other mythical animals. They dont make tiles that that now!

12.01.2022 When you take the apprentice into Reece ...

11.01.2022 Freshly replaced box gutter. With the fall adjusted to the outlet. We reused the existing wall apron flashing as it did not need replaced. Looks a bit dull, but is a nice satisfying end to Friday!

10.01.2022 This week has seen the first icy roofs of the season. Stay warm in the wild!

10.01.2022 They look like roof tiles right? Well they are ... in a way. Theyre not concrete or terracotta though. These are pressed metal. Not something Michael comes across too terribly often.... There are quite a few types of roofing out there, some obviously used far more frequently than others. And over the last couple of decades, Michael has come across just about all of them. Have you got something out of the norm on your roof?

08.01.2022 Gosh! Well be wearing gumboots and rain coats tomorrow! And the littlest trooper will surely break our her umbrella with its super colour change inspects printed on. Stay dry Melbourne folks!

08.01.2022 So ... after Melbournes rainy weather the past few days, we want to talk about roof leaks. When were finding out about a roof leak, first we want to know about the symptoms: How long has the leak been occurring?... If it is a recurring leak, has some work already been done? Does it only leak during / after rain? Is it only a stain on the ceiling or is there water dripping / streaming into your property? Where in your house is leaking? Is it not a leak inside, but rather a leak outside - pergola / gutter / eave? And then about the house: How many stories is your house? What type of roof cladding do you have? Is your roof flat or pitched? And finally, if you have an inkling about what may be causing the leak, wed like to hear your thoughts. But remember, a roof leak can be tricky to track. Sometimes they are not. But sometimes there are multiple leaks that appear as one stain. Or the water is running down a batten, or some ducting, and coming through the ceiling several meters away.

08.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums out there. We hope you enjoy today doing whatever it is that makes you happy. Special mention to the mother of my girls.

07.01.2022 Michael has recently replaced the translucent roof sheets on this warehouse roof. The light transmission between the old fibreglass sheets and the new is significant. This picture shows the difference with just one side of new sheets completed.

07.01.2022 Trick or treat!

06.01.2022 Its raining, its pouring, and Michaels Dad actually purchased a Ned Kelly mat and posted it to him. Comment on the beard. Anywho ... Michael is out and about doing a few quotes and inspections today.... So if you find an unexpected leak, or are reminded of that annoying roof problem; drop us a line.

05.01.2022 Only a roof plumber could get so excited about all the bends that are custom made in this downpipe Michael fabricated and installed a few days ago in Burnside Heights. But if you dont take pride in your work, whats the point?

05.01.2022 This Altona North home is getting some essential roof maintenance while working towards the owners goals to renovate inside and outside at the same time. Were replacing the gutters with Woodland Grey Colorbond to provide a long term finish without any need for painting. The valley gutters are also being replaced and the ridge and hip capping rebedded and pointed.

05.01.2022 Blocked! No wonder this downpipe spreader wasn't working. Michael cleared it to allow water to flow freely and the spreader to disburse water more widely across the roof.

04.01.2022 Michael took great advantage of the glorious sunshine last weekend and installed COLORBOND steel barge capping and zincalume ridge capping to the original section of this Inner West home.

04.01.2022 You know you have a bonafide tradies kid when ... You ask what they are watching and the just-3-year-old has clicked on a Bunnings video.

03.01.2022 Theres nothing better than the sound of rain on a metal roof. Unless you get caught on it! Or left your washing on the line!

01.01.2022 This Altona house is undergoing some renovations. Michael checked over the roof and we organised to attend to some maintenance issues. With a new Colorbond valley gutter and a section of deteriorated ridge capping taken care of, this roof is right to roll.

01.01.2022 This may not be THE most exciting roofing photograph ever. Sorry about that. But we have it on good authority that the home owners are jumping for joy that their roof won't leak during the rain this week.... Michael will be out and about working, so if you have a leak that needs attention, now is the time to shout out! When were finding out about a roof leak, first we want to know about the symptoms: How long has the leak been occurring? Either way, Michael is REALLY happy each and every time he fixes a roof leak!

01.01.2022 The existing cap on this chimney was no longer serviceable, and allowing water entry. So we installed a new COLORBOND steel cap, fabricated to fit beautifully. P.s. How great is that blue sky!
