This is not the end of the airline and will now provide the administrators Deloitte, the opportunity to recapitalise and work on a restructure, reset and potentially a reboot. As far as future credits and bookings along with Velocity Rewards points are concerned, any potential new owner or restructured airline will consider th...e goodwill value of honouring both of those. We do not have the answers to those type of questions as yet. Velocity Rewards, while owned by the group, is a separate company and has not been placed into administration, it is operated as a cash backed trust and points are protected. The outcome of Deloittes work is likely not to be confirmed for two to three months, so for now, its a waiting game. That said there is strong support for Virgin Australia to come through this and continue flying the skies. Virgin Australia is continuing to fly the domestic routes it is currently operating, underwritten by the federal government. 12.01.2022 As many of you would have heard in the news, Australia in particular seems to be the target of information hackers attempting to intercept and use information for illegal purposes. I want to alert you aware to the latest scheme that I have been made aware of one in which people are being approached by text messages requesting information in relation to their frequent flyer details in some cases including PINs. Often these approaches appear to be coming from sou...rces such as travel agents and request that the information be sent to a separate new mobile number. The hackers have been known to ask in the message to reply with the current FF information to my new number. The messages also state that there is a 50,000 frequent flyer points bonus for providing the information. Whilst my business name has not been used in any such scam, I want to warn my valued clients of such a scheme and caution you against providing any information electronically. I reiterate that I would never ask for such information by text. I've snorkelled with beluga whales, come face to face with both black and grizzly bears, seen the Northern Lights, hiked, gone white water rafting and ridden a Harley Davidson through the Rocky Mountains, ridden a bull at the Calgary Stampede (well sat on one in a pen), flown in float planes over Glaciers, helicoptered through the Rockies, cruised along in a small boat surrounded by hundreds of dolphins and Orca too!
