16.01.2022 thx Junction Records Fremantle for shelving me in such good company! my 3rd album is still in stock at junction and at a coupla other perth stores but it's otherwise sold out. been saving my pennies and scrounging recording hours after work every day to get my 4th one pressed up for the new year.
14.01.2022 whispered, or at least using inside voice: if you're interested in hearing how my next album is coming along, i've been posting work-in-progress bounces on my soundcloud. this one features my 'guide' drums that i recorded using my phone (but quite like and will probably eventually hide in the mix somewhere)
14.01.2022 somehow it's four years today since the release of my first album, used to write (avail on spotify etc etc). i'm really proud of it. it was a very collaborative record; i was super green but @rickymaymi and @andyhillsounds nailed the production. killer takes all over from greg hitchcock, richard lane and adrian hoffmann too. i spent last night with @rickymaymi listening to roughs of my 4th album - we're definitely channeling similar classic stuff. rachael barrett

12.01.2022 hi all! as things transpired i didn't play a headline show in 2019, for the first time in 5 or 6 years, but by all of the metrics that matter i've worked harder on my music and on myself this year than in any other. i'm starting next year by playing this free entry sunday sesh.

05.01.2022 The Quivers are fantastic people who've made a gorgeous, understated EP of thoughtful indie pop music. Quiver Ez Gordon, a one-time Honkytonk bandmate, has been a dear friend for many years - I was touched that he'd ask the band and I to play a set of my stuff at their EP launch and I couldn't say no. The Quivers EP Launch is next Thursday at 459 - profoundly warm vibes are guaranteed, and I heartily recommend getting along to celebrate the work of a trio making unique and worthy stuff on their own terms. This will also be my last show for now.
