25.01.2022 Say Hello to Oxley College Pipe Band’s next Bass Drummer Andrew in Year 8 being assisted by the current Bass Drummer Arlo who’ll be finishing with the band this year once he graduates Year 12

21.01.2022 Next band practice Friday evening 16th April at The Farm Club, 1 Werai Rd, Werai. 6.30pm - 8pm. All welcome, why not pop in and see what we are up too. Many me...mbers will be competing at the next Australian Championships on the October long week end in Sydney 2022. Learner classes will be starting soon. For furter informtion on how to become invloved, book the group to play at a function or to assist us finacially (unfortunately bands run on money and not music) contact us on 0412 602 983.

18.01.2022 Band member Jeremey Suggett has put this together after our quick trip to Melbourne last week. A group of seven headed off, PM Barry Gray and pipers; Steve Ker...r, Mike Allen, Aaron Whybrow, Jeremy Suggett , Poppy Middleton (and her mum Tia). Off to Melbourne on a 7.30am flight and back the next day on the 7.30am flight. And people think rock and roll is glamorous LOL!

13.01.2022 As much as I suggest practice can be done anywhere, don’t practice like the person in this post.

05.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that from Friday 5th Febraury, we will be commencing to teach just outside of Moss Vale, NSW Pipng, Tenor, Bass and Snare drum. Lesso...ns will be 45 minute in duration in a group situation for $15.00 (two members from the same family only $10 each). Lesson times are 5.30pm - 6.15pm and 6.15pm-7pm. Then from 7pm - 9pm will be band practice for the Pipes & Drums of Bundanoon, from the Southern Highlands. We are very excited about this initiative with PIpe Major Hamish Dawson and his band to be assisting in there tutorial programme and being invloved with this new band. This evening Pipe Tutor Barry Gray and Drum Tutor Michael Smith travelled down to Bundanoon to meet the players and start the programme off, as we hope many of our students from Oxley College will move onto this band when they leave school and even do some performances with them before leaving. This evening was a great start with some 9 Pipers on the floor, a Bass, 2 Tenors and a Snare Drummer. But a bigger aim or target for SSP&D is to teach local children and adults to play a pipe band related instrument. And we will be advertising throughout the Southern Highlands in the hope to to help people find their inner pipe band self. The Bundanoon band is looking for experienced players and Pipe Major Hamish Dawson can be contacted on 0411 143 349. So if you live in the area or you are prepared to drive a little distance and come along on a Friday evening - then give Hamish a call. If you are someone who has always wanted to learn the Pipes, Snare, Tenor or Bass drum contact our schools administrator, Barry Gray on 0412 602 983 and he will pass on all the information you need to get you started. Remember lessons can be obtained between 5.30pm - 7pm on Fridays close to Moss Vale.
