05.01.2022 I love the following ideas about The Three Worlds Approach by Daniel Giamario from the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School. In developing the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm , I borrowed from Shamanism 101, the nearly universal motif found in animistic and shamanically oriented cultures, of three worlds: namely the Upper World (or Celestial World), the Middle World, and the Lower World (or Underworld). In the initiatory approach used by the Shamanic Astrology approach, I noticed...Continue reading

02.01.2022 The new moon Taurus eclipse is tomorrow morning at 5.49am AEST smack bang on my Ascendant, my window to the world. Like the worm emerging out of the chrysalis and becoming the beautiful butterfly, I can feel the pull for reemergence into a different phase of life after what seems like a long dark passage of sitting in a sense of loss. Having sacrificed a lot to achieve my degree at 50 and work as an anthropologist I have found myself in the last few years an empty nester with... my beautiful family raised and independent and with my dream house and career gone. I have tried to fill the void with a number of things including other jobs, a phd scholarship, my own healing practice and further study and yet none have gained any real traction. Last night I saw a program in which a 91 year old man loves and still plays cricket! I’ve also just spent the week with some very inspiring people who are making dreams come true for themselves. I truly do appreciate the many blessings I have in my life - a wonderful husband and a beautiful family, particularly my children and granddaughter who are my legacy and the loves of my life. And I absolutey love working with people and hope to continue to do so for a long time. I guess on this Taurus eclipse i felt like sharing and acknowledging the ending of things and the vulnerability of getting older with the profound changes that can occur from a very productive life to one that is a slower pace. This is a vulnerable post for me as I am good at receiving other people’s vulnerabilities but not my own . And then of course there are always more roses to smell, and oceans to swim in and stars to gaze at......and parents to take to The Manly

01.01.2022 From astronomer Paul Curnow: "Hi all, on the 26th of May 2021 at approximately 8.48pm (Australian Central Standard Time), Adelaide (and the rest of Australia) w...ill experience a Total Lunar Eclipse. The total duration of the eclipse from start to finish is slightly over 5-hours, however, the Moon will be in total eclipse from 8.41pm-8.55pm (ACST); this is when the Moon will turn reddish in colour, often referred to as a ‘Blood Moon’. This is because the Moon has moved into the ‘umbra’ of Earth’s shadow, which is the darkest part. Moreover, Australia & New Zealand are in a prime location to witness this celestial event, weather permitting! A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly, or at least very closely aligned (the technical term is in ‘syzygy’) with Earth between the other two, and only on the night of a full moon. The light from the Sun shining on the Moon’s surface is blocked with the exception some light that has been refracted (bent) by Earth's atmosphere. It will be easy to see for most people, even from suburban back yards, and the bonus is it will occur early in the evening for Australian observers." - Paul Curnow, Adelaide Planetarium Astronomy Lecturer, University of South Australia
