23.01.2022 More precious nature and trees loss in Banyule needs to be fought. Ecoline just doesn't belong in the midst of a remnant Billabong and twisting River Red Gums.

22.01.2022 This rainy Saturday is the day we should have been voting in Banyule and having our "democracy" sausage or vegetarian burger. Not this year with Covid 19 and the #isoelection for the #LocalGovernment2020elections. Instead we are all done and dusted and waiting for the AFL Grand Final at the Gabba (Commiserations to the Mighty Lions ) Postal voting officially closed yesterday but dates you might be interested in are: Postal Vote Receipt : Closes 12pm on Friday 30th Octob...er Declaration of Election Results: Friday 13th November New Councillors Sworn into Office: Wed 18th November and First "Ordinary" Council Meeting: Mon 23rd November Wishing all candidates good luck and everyone best wishes Michelle

21.01.2022 Well the election campaigning is done and dusted. The whole campaign has been a steep learning curve and a journey that I'm still on. Win lose or draw I’ll be advocating for Sherbourne Ward and all of Banyule. There is just so much to do. Now I wouldn’t have been able to take those first tentative campaign steps without the love, support, encouragement and real practical help and advice of others. throughout this campaign I have met the most amazing, kind, hardworking an...d passionate people who have given me great joy and hope. My deepest and sincerest thanks to you all from emails, calls and messages of support, to the argumentative who have challenged my views, to people who have given hours of their time helping with the web page, delivering leaflets, providing ideas and proof reading till we got my message right. To those that hosted my corflute in your gardens and on your fences thank you! For the podcast "Women of the Ward" thank you! To my children and their partners - Thank you for everything! (including these photos that didn't make it to the campaign! ) Thank you to all who bothered to comment and share my facebook posts and messages - this engagement is deeply appreciated. To those that donated so generously thank you!! Even the person who donated just because all the other candidates had put me last! Don’t you just love that! Also thanks to the neighbourhood facebook groups who allowed me to post private messages or make comment on #MontyLife3094 , #BriarHillLife3088 #elthammontmorencygreensboroughlowerplentynoticeboard, and #BanyuleHub these are important community platforms and critical to community connectedness. And to my very special team of family, old and new friends and inspiring supporters and neighbours. You know who you are! Thank you so much. Hopefully we can all catch up soon....

20.01.2022 Sherbourne Ward and Bakewell Ward folks important to have your say and find out more about the Hurstbridge Line Rail Duplication and Montmorency Station Upgrade https://engage.vic.gov.au//greensborough-and-montmorency-s Greensborough and Montmorency stations design community information sessions Join LXRP staff at a virtual community information session and share your ideas about design elements for the new Greensborough Station or upgraded Montmorency Station.... Greensborough Station: Tuesday 27 October, 4.30pm to 6pm Montmorency Station: Wednesday 28 October, 4.30pm to 6pm You will join other community members to discuss the overall look and feel of the stations, materials and design, plants and landscaping, and public artworks. It should also be an opportunity to ask questions on how local roads will be impacted - Station, Binns, Mountain View, Calrossie, Sherbourne AND on how LXRP is actually liaising and consulting with Banyule Council ?? We need to be talking about more than Station Materials and Colours Please feel free to share this post widely

20.01.2022 Hello Sherbourne Ward Voters and friends - my last duty as a candidate is to let you know the provisional election results: Congratulations to Alison Champion, who has just been elected as as the first Sherbourne Ward Councillor. I wish Alison all the very best as part of the new Council in working with the State Government to deal with the major infrastructure challenges ahead including the Hurstbridge Line duplication and the Fitzsimons Lane upgrade.... This was my first election campaign and there were the additional campaign challenges from COVID19 restrictions - basically meaning that all campaigning was on social media, via letter drops and the 300 word campaign statement. I am so very very grateful for the assistance from friends, family, campaign donors and community members, it’s been wonderful to have your support, guidance, ideas and sheer hard work delivering my campaign materials. A sincere Thank You !! to the people who voted for me, asked questions and sent messages it’s humbling to have your support. I love the Sherbourne Ward area and I’m not going away any time soon. I plan on helping advocate for you on local planning issues, traffic, parking and footpath safety concerns, the planned Were Street Streetscape redevelopment and the Hurstbridge Line duplication consultation process. Looking forward to speaking with you in person sometime soon - Thank you! Michelle

14.01.2022 The elections over but social issues are always with us. Talk, share, support is more important than ever.

14.01.2022 Today we say THANK YOU to all Victorians! You’ve done a magnificent job in achieving zero coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, which is the first time sin...ce June. We thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made and for your commitment to helping stop the spread of COVID-19. Since the beginning of the year our Screening Clinic staff have swabbed 31,572 people, and there has been a total of 3,052,477 COVID-19 tests conducted in Victoria. These numbers speak volumes. They tell the story of Victorians’ commitment to stopping the spread of the virus. From all of us at the Screening Clinic and Austin Health, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, says Nurse Unit Manager of COVID-19 Screening Services, Kym Wade.

13.01.2022 Interesting .....

10.01.2022 Under the cover of successive Lockdowns NELProject have systematically breached environmental performance requirements - utterly disgusted - time to rethink the North East Link. Now

10.01.2022 Uupdate on the Hurstbridge Line Redevelopment and NEW (not upgrade) Montmorency Station from Level Crossing Removal Project "consultation" held 28/10/20 Only ONE option was presented to the community for discussion This was for a NEW the station approx 120m further West from the existing and located on the North Side away from Were St, Justification for this was not properly explained but we were informed new stations should be straight not curved like Montmorency i...s. More thorough and meaningful consultation about the Project is required - this needs to be frank and honest. We should have been presented with a range of options with pros and cons for each. ie - how each option will impact Were St, - discussion on tree loss numbers - How will tree loss be minimised. Simply offsetting and 2 for 1 replacement planting is not good enough (I think LXRP are not discussing tree loss because West of the existing Station it will be total removal for at 120m Looking at other LXRP projects in Rosanna and Moreland the construction footprint shown by the purple shading below is reasonable guess on the limited information we have been provided) -changes to traffic flow and how traffic will be managed, - spoil and storm water management - detailed construction impacts of each - how the construction footprint will be minimised noting that the planning scheme amendments limits the land that LXRP can take over to Binns St and Station Rd - scheduling of works, - impact on Mayona Road Consultation to date has been window dressing and superficial, a tick the box exercise. LXRP need to rename the project the "New Montmorency Station", it is not an upgrade it is a new station. I've included a planning scheme Map. The grey is land zoned Public Use Zone - Transport - and where LXRP and Vic Track have total control

08.01.2022 LXRP have been dishonest for months and appear to be making no meaningful attempt to save trees. Last night they admitted "all would be going" apart from some " no go areas". This is very hard to accept but not unexpected given how major infrastructure projects are managed. SPA just building as fast and as cheaply as they can.... The one beacon of hope should be the Landscape revegetation plans although decades before this will be habitat. This evening concerned community members gathered in Railway Rd, Briar Hill, near the Plenty River to pay their respects and to commerate the beautiful trees that are expected to go including an ancient manna gum.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to our newly elected Council. Councillors will be sworn in this Monday followed by the live streamed Mayoral Election on Wednesday (11 Nov). For details of the 2020 council election visit https://www.banyule.vic.gov.au/New/Council-election-results

07.01.2022 Further to my post about the Grand Boulevard Shops Car park safety issues please see the planning application by Banyule City Council to "upgrade" the car park. by "improving" the formal car parking spaces with the removal of nearly half the 65 trees. Banyule Councilis is both the applicant and the "approver " https://www.banyule.vic.gov.au//39-Grand-Boulevard-MONTMOR Objections to the proposal need to be submitted by tomorrow

05.01.2022 Fan bloody tastic Monty folks making it happen - they just need our support...
