20.01.2022 THE LIFE LONG EFFECTS OF PUBERTY. When I discovered pornography at age twelve, my mind was still forming. The transition from physical boy to physical man can b...e devastating for many. The same can be said for girls as well. The discovery of porn at this stage of my life had me in turmoil. What just happened to me? Who can I share this dilemma with and who can guide me through the emotional maze I now find myself in? The answer was that I had no one to turn to and no one to answer the question that was screaming to be answered. Was this experience normal and where do I go from here? Sadly I deduced that what happened to me was evil and filthy and I decided that I was doomed to be a "dirty old man!" What a devastating realisation for a boy who always wanted to be a hero?. That sub conscious, bottom line belief of who I said I was became the foundation of a destructive lifestyle that drove me deeply into a sex addiction that had dramatic and destructive effects on the rest of my life. I have since learned that my self condemnation back then was false and fuelled by the father of all lies. It suited his purposes to have me feel that way. Now our ministry is about speaking the inconvenient truths that can erase these lies we set in place about who we are. To do this we must speak about the unspeakable. Well so be it. I have seen many lives transformed by showing many a different picture about who they believe they are. The Father of creation has a very different picture and He can be trusted to show it to you. He knows what your destiny was planned to be. Find a share group and talk about this messy stuff that feeds your own stinking thinking about who you feel you are. Allow another picture to take its place and in so doing set yourself free. God never wastes a hurt. Blessings one and all. Graham Hood.

09.01.2022 Is Church failing or is it just me?? For 13 years I have been very active in many churches in Australia and New Zealand. This ministry has had us present a heal...ing message in churches of all kinds both liberal and conservative. Everyone has a different idea and many also march to the beat of a different drum. I have seen people burn out as they remain fixed on a ceaseless work trip trying to merit their way into Heaven and I have like wise seen so many just languish in the pews going through the ritual of church. We are all doing church and not being church. When we present to churches on Recovery it is clear to see that many hearts minds and eyes are opened. There is no doubt that we have seen so many lives turn on as people dip their toes in the recovery water. Our message is a simple yet very inconvenient one. At the last church we presented at I asked a couple of very simple questions. 1. Do you love each other? I mean really love each other warts and all or do you just tolerate each other? 2. Does Jesus love us or just tolerate us? The book of Mark in chapter 12 verse 28 to 31 spells out from the lips of Jesus himself exactly what is required of those who will spend eternity with Him in Heaven. 28 "One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked Him, "of all the commandments which is the most important?" 29 "The most important one," answered Jesus," is this; "Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 29"Love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this, love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." So how important is it to love each other rather than tolerate each other? Sadly I have been in too many churches where politics, doctrinal differences and conspiracy theories have built walls of intolerance let alone love. I am certain that it is this one fact alone that diminishes the power of real church and hinders its growth. That is why I have found the last 13 years as a Christian so incongruent and it makes me sad. Maybe I just don't get it. God bless. Graham.
