18.01.2022 DON'T PAY TWICE - I've been speaking with new clients lately and a question on everyones lips is "what do I have to do in preparation for the new smoke alarm legislation?". My first question in response to that is, "Do you currently have a company taking care of the smoke alarm compliance for your property?" and most of the time, the answer is YES! These days, if you have a company looking after your smoke alarms, the annual fee they charge includes multiple callouts. Soo.. w...hy not ask them to provide you a quote on what is needed and save yourself the $$ for the job itself. Who knows, they may have already prepared one for you like our tradesperson has done for our clients. For anyone who may want some clarification on what contents insurance actually is; Contents insurance is insurance that pays for damage to, or loss of, an individual’s personal possessions while they are located within that individual’ In this context "possessions" means anything that is not permanently attached to the structure of the home (possessions that are permanently attached to the structure of the home can only be insured... via home insurance.) Some contents policies may also include possessions kept in outbuildings or in the garden area attached to the house. Always do your research before choosing an insurer to make sure they are suitable for you and your situation.
