24.01.2022 A quick post on using hand sanitisers safely. The ones with 70% alcohol (ethanol) are a flammable, dangerous & hazardous substance and you need to treat it with care. - Keep it away from children! - Do not ingest or inhale - Workplaces are to obtain a Safety Data Sheet for the sanitiser and make it available to all workers (*)... - Add the substance to your Chemical Register (*) - Keep it away from any ignition and heat sources - Do not put your hands near any flame or ignition source (you will get burned) - Do not rub your eyes when you have applied hand sanitiser, it will cause severe eye damage / irritation - If there is a fire, use your Dry Chemical Powder extinguisher (if small, contained and safe to do so) and call 000 * WorkSafe Qld have issued fines to workplaces recently that did not have an SDS for the sanitiser they were using or updated Chemical Register. On the spot fine for not having a current Chemical Register is $3,600.

04.01.2022 In the lead up to venues reopening for gaming, its important to remember that some patrons will have benefited from a break from gambling. Remote self-exclusi...on is now available and allows patrons wishing to continue their break, to ban themselves from multiple locations without having to set foot inside a venue. Weve developed a step-by-step guide to assist you with this process: http://ow.ly/qtvK50Ak8Qk . Dont forget that many of your patrons are also dealing with the impacts of COVID-19, and may be experiencing unemployment, isolation, loneliness, anxiety or depression. This could place them at a heightened risk of gambling harm. You can assist all patrons by ensuring your venue has appropriate harm minimisation strategies in place. Read more about how you can support your patrons at http://ow.ly/VJ0H50Ak8Qm .
