25.01.2022 Documenting COVID19 My eldest son - football is life. He has been playing since the age of 4 and although it is a winter sport, this is the longest period of time he has not had training. He is lucky that his club and the coaches at Perth Glory Football Academy have been working hard and have provided the #MakeItCount and #MakeItYours programmes for the boys to be able to work on their skills, fitness and football education. But it's not the same as training as a squad 4 nights a week and playing competitive games. When #COVID19 hit they were due to start their competitive season, which his team have been training for since November. With the promising numbers and the beginning of reducing restrictions, it is hopeful that they will get back to training and playing games soon!

24.01.2022 Today I drove down to Balingup to the Golden Valley Tree Park - chasing a photo of a specific tree in very specific conditions. It's current state is the complete opposite to what I am chasing, but it was worth battling the elements because I think I still got some decent photos from the day - here's one that is a little different :) I love Autumn colours!

22.01.2022 So it's been a topsy-turvy few months and I was so glad with the easing of restrictions that the MBAWA went ahead and rescheduled their 2nd photo day for 2020! By pure luck, it happened to be the day that Phase 3 restrictions came into place and the parks were re-opened (honestly I am not sure how any family would have coped with them still being shut on photo day!) It was the most perfect day and I was in my happy place. Lots of new families with plenty of regulars thrown in! Here are a selection of photos from the day

22.01.2022 WA and Australian residents have done a FANTASTIC job to eradicate this horrid virus. As such, in WA we have seen the start of easing of restrictions. With the number of people at an outside gathering now lifted to 10, I am confident to be able to reopen my services. The offer below is available until the 28th June and to outdoor sessions only. I will continue to adhere to social distancing and will not shoot any sessions where the Client or myself are feeling unwell. With M...others Day coming up and a shortage of options for gifts - this could be a fantastic idea as a gift to the special lady in your life. You can either book a session or request a gift voucher which can be sent via email for you to print yourself. As most of you are aware, my business Whippersnappers has come to a grinding halt during this time and it is still unclear as to when we may be back up to full speed. So I would really appreciate if you could please share this offer around as it will bring some much needed income into my family. For the month of May, sessions can be held during the week or on the weekends. At this stage, June sessions will be weekends only.

17.01.2022 I think it's safe to say that Princess Sassy Pants was not a fan of the studio OR having her photo taken! Since I had taken the time over this period to clean out my studio I felt I had to take photos of something in there - so the cat it was...it was a quick shoot, with only a few frames turning out ok....give me kids to photograph any day

17.01.2022 Please share :)

16.01.2022 All gallery links from the recent MBAWA photo day have now been sent - please check your junk mail too :)All gallery links from the recent MBAWA photo day have now been sent - please check your junk mail too :)

16.01.2022 A little out of practise with the long exposure sunsets, but Point Peron was perfect (a little more breeze for some bigger waves would have been nice) but I think I may have a couple of keepers from tonights efforts ;) What do you think of this one?

16.01.2022 So, ever since I can remember, I have always wanted my photos to turn out the way I visualise them to. 99% of the time it doesn't happen, I don't get exactly what I want. Well....tonight....I think I did it....I got the images I was imagining in my head and I am stoked - here is one to wet the whistle This is a 5 stiched photo panorama. Where were we tonight?

16.01.2022 I was just going through some back ups from 2012 and came across so many photos I forgot I had even taken! This is one I particularly like, it was taken for a competition under the theme "fishing wire" - this was when my eldest was somewhat compliant to having his photo taken ;)

15.01.2022 Quite possibly the first children to sit on this swing in 12 weeks yesterday when Phase 3 lifting of restrictions from COVID-19 came into affect in WA.....and don't they just shine with pure joy?

15.01.2022 I do love a black and white landscape, especially with reflections - where did we go for a little explore today?

15.01.2022 I knew this would be a favourite as soon as I took it

12.01.2022 It has been 10 years since I photographed Cooper as a newborn, in fact was probably the first newborn I ever photographed with my little mobile set up in my front room 10 years on Barbara organised an extended family session for her mum's 70th birthday. It was a fun session at Woodman Point on a beautiful afternoon :)

11.01.2022 Oh look ...another favourite

11.01.2022 It was nice to get back to Point Peron after a bit of a hiatus to complete the 2nd last session for 2020. I have had to close my bookings this year as due to COVID I am so flat out with fitting in @Whippersnappers business that I can't physically take on any more work. Luckily the Antao's booked back in July but due to an unexpected injury it has taken this long to get to do the photos. It is great to be able to give extended families lasting memories :)

11.01.2022 After the year it has been, a flight credit in hand and a milestone birthday for the husband, we decided to take a mini-break (in-between a ridiculously busy schedule) to Broome! Never been before and unlikely to come again, so had to get down to Cable Beach for some photo opportunities. Even more excited for the images I am planning to get tomorrow, so stay tuned!!!

10.01.2022 A macro photographer I am not. But insects fascinate me, when you see the detail on them close up they are amazing! We have a massive lavender bush that the bees just LOVE and I have been meaning to try and get a few shots. I clearly don't have the talent or patience for this kind of photography, but I got a few shots I am happy with. Give me a 2yo child any day Bees sure are busy little things!

08.01.2022 Braved the weather and drove to @goldenvalleytree park today. I was hoping that this tree may have been having a late Autumn and held onto it’s leaves during the recent storms and was hoping for the pond to be full...but alas....none of the above!! However it still presented as an interesting subject! #goldenvalleytreepark #balingup #autumn #autumncolours #justanotherdayinwa #michellesparkesphotography #whippersnappersphotography #covid19

08.01.2022 Where am I for tonight’s sunset?

07.01.2022 I will start to plan session times and locations in the coming days, so if you want to take advantage of this offer, contact me asap!

06.01.2022 What a great day for WA, parks are back open and I am back at work with a full day or families to photograph for the Multiple Birth Association for Western Australia....

05.01.2022 Better be a good one

03.01.2022 Documenting COVID19 YAGAN SQUARE - PERTH 810pm on a Saturday Night - not a soul in sight. #COVID19 #ISO2020

02.01.2022 It is with much regret to announce that I will no longer providing my services to the Multiple Birth Association in the form of the family fundraiser days. Over the last 8 years I have met so many wonderful families, watched their children grow and families expand. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the MBAWA and it has been a tough decision for me to make. I have reached the point where I just don't have the time available that is needed to dedicate to each session to p...roduce high quality results and I don't want my service to families, either on the day or by the images supplied, to suffer because of this. Throughout the year I will post, on this page, limited number of mini-session specials as time permits. If you would like to make use of these sessions you are more than welcome, however I won't be taking on many bookings outside of these specials.
