24.01.2022 MickleFab Buggy with floor done.

24.01.2022 Sea Lake this year not only had great weather and a massive entry list, it marked the coming out of MickleFabs first Midsized TT. Having dealt with some initial teething problems, Sea Lake was hoped to be where the new machine showed its true potential; and it did; in spades. Prologue went well with Ivan Robertson quickly getting used to the new suspension setup from Fox in the States and the newly fitted 37 General Grabbers. Ivan putting the MickleFab TT into a 20th star...t position was a great effort exclaimed Gavin Mickle, MickleFab founder. Starting the first lap in 20th position also meant the track would be well defined by the front runners. After the first lap Robertson, with Peter Luckraft in the navigator seat, was just outside the top ten and after lap two was sitting in eighth as the Water Movers Australia team went into the hour break. Mickle continued we only tweaked a couple of small things in the break and then Ivan headed out for the last two laps. All went to plan with Robertson and Luckraft putting in two 2 more consistent laps of 44 mins each, and absolutely loving how the truck handled the track and wishing it would get rougher. The Water Movers Australia MickleFab Trophy Truck ultimately finish the MBL Sea Lake Mallee Rally ARB 350 in sixth outright and second in Extreme 2WD class, and just over 2 minutes behind class winner Danny Brown. Now that I have some decent race miles under my belt, Im more confident with what the Trophy Truck can do. To say Im amazed at how it goes through the rough is an understatement. We cant wait to test it out this weekend at Griffith added Ivan Roberton. With the second MickleFab truck now finished and ready for testing and the first MickleFab buggy under construction hopefully more Australians will look closer to home when considering a new off road race car. As a teaser, Gavin Mickle will be at the ARB Griffith 400 this weekend, not only supporting the Water Movers Australia team, but also with one of their new buggies on display.
