25.01.2022 This week brought Robert and Talia’s extension and renovation to a conclusion, with tha last of the minor jobs cleaned up ready for handover. The transformation from what it was, to what it is now makes an immense difference, by basically doubling the size of the existing house, certainly will help this family to be able to function better, and enjoy more space instead of having one living area to cater for everything! And I’m sure the shear pleasure, for Robert and Tali...a, of having two toilets in the house now, will help with the problematic burden of having two young children with synchronised toilet requirements eased, is something we can all understand and sympathise with! It’s been a pleasure working alongside, and sometimes pretty invasive to their personal space, to create and bring to fruition, what this family envisaged when we started demolition in March, initially with the existing bathroom renovation, then moving outside to the extension! We hope it’s everything you wanted and more, for you guys to enjoy in the future! Shelley and Richard’s extension roof was cut in and covered this week also, once again being able to take advantage of this continued fine weather. With the roof on, the wall wrap installed and windows in, a bit of plumbing and electrical to fit and we will be ready for the stone walls to go up! Just need this cracking weather to continue, even if it’s a tad nippy in the mornings!

25.01.2022 With all the relevant applications, approvals and hoops jumped through, we finally got some progress happening at the Nangwarry football club! After the guys from Buildpro delivered all the trenchmesh, bogar bars etc to site, we got cracking on making up the cages and installing them into the foundations. With the mesh work complete and inspected, it was time to get Quickmix concrete on site delivering the 28 cubic metres of concrete required for the footings to be poured!... Big thanks to both Buildpro and Quickmix for their discounted supply of materials helping Nangwarry footy club to rebuild and get back on their feet! Being a long weekend last week gave an opportunity to sort a problem for Wayne at his depot. After having a water leak under the hot mix at some stage prior, the ground and hot mix sunk about an inch or so, which when you have forklifts with solid rubber tyres passing over this lip multiple times a day, doesn’t do much for the product being transported, let alone the banging and clanging of the tynes and bone jarring suspension for the operator! Therefore, cutting this section of hot mix out and replacing it with concrete, getting rid of a unnecessary speed bump and giving a smooth ride through, was going to please both Wayne and staff! With the hot mix section cut, Paul on his excavator made light work of removing the hot mix and base material, then with a bit of preparation, and we were ready to pour! That’s where Gary from SE Handmix helped out delivering some 40mpa concrete, which not only would dry quicker, but with the extra day of the long weekend, would cure better, allowing business to begin again at 2am Tuesday morning, just with a flat track for the forklifts now! Ben and Taylah’s frames were erected by Roger, Dave and Jon this week, and when Paul and Alex from Aston Newman Timbers delivered the trusses, the guys were able to get a start on standing them, ready to get stuck into the rest of the roof structure next week! After setting up the profiles at Tamika’s house, we got Lambert from MG Excavations on the job to dig the drain and underfloor plumbing. Jake and Finn made short work of that, ready for it to be backfilled the following day. Creeky, meanwhile, got a start on boxing the slab up so we can look to pour next week! Slipped in and took advantage of the perfect weather to replace some waaayyy past there used by date alsynite skylights, with new laser lite sheets at Mike’s shed! After all Mike’s handiwork and fix ups over the years (and good intentions of replacing them for the last four years) he finally conceded to the fact, it may just be time to call someone in to replace them, as he was a little concerned that with him away periodically, the buckets and wheel barrows catching the water leaks inside, may overflow during the winter! Possibly over reacting, but I thought it best to pacify him somewhat!

25.01.2022 Pretty happy to have all the guys able to put in a 5 day week this week, without another COVID long, long weekend! Especially leading up to Christmas, trying to weather the annual October to December gotta be done before Christmasrush!! Sorted out a little bit of accidental damage yesterday, caused to a portico a few weeks ago, when a truck got its ambitions and capabilities mixed up by about 6 inches! Whoever said 6 inches isn’t much, didn’t have to fix t...he damage caused, by said 6 inches! lick of paint next week and you’d never know! Cam and Nikki’s house is really taking shape with the guys from Reilly Bricklaying all but finished with the designer stone, bar a few more days early next week! Taylor and his guys have finished the wet area tiling and have moved onto laying the big floor area, which will be also knocked over in a couple more days, ready for Crackers and his crew to finish the carpentry 2nd fix and install the soffit Jake and Finn sorted out the first part of the plumbing on a little kitchen renovation/relocation, finding and cutting into the existing drain and connecting in the new waste pipe, run a new gas line and install new hot and cold water points! Job sorted first fix wise!! Started a little bit of preparation work on Jake’s house, getting Darren from G.T Bobcat in to dig out and shape the block in readiness to get cracking on the drain and founds! Just need to get council approval apparently, before we can do anymore! Started an en-suite revamp for Angela and Charlie this week, with Creeky having a smashing time cutting loose with the jackhammer taking up all the floor tiles, and removing all the wall tiles from the stone walls, even managing to leave most of the plaster on the wall still! Replace the breaching piece to the shower with a new mixer, and tidy up some other first fix pipe work next week, and we will be ready for The Tile Place to deliver the tiles and Taylor to start laying!

24.01.2022 Who knew a young fella and his excavator could transform a sloping block of land, into a perfectly benched house site, and move so much material, within a matter of a couple of days?! With the majority of the work done for them, the guys from GT Bobcat could come in and tidy up the little bits and pieces remaining at Daniel and Emma’s block dig out, so we can start organising things in the next few weeks to start preparing for their house slab! With blue sky’s th...is week, we were able to finish the gutters and get a start on Ben and Taylah’s roof. Hopefully Monday’s weather plays the game allowing us to continue for the day roofing, and it doesn’t rain until the evening! Slipped in a couple of concreting jobs in between roofing and pouring slabs, helping Neil out and laying a concrete alfresco and driveway! Jake’s place continues its progression, with Chucky finishing the external walls and capping the retaining wall to the driveways, while the guys from CKK got stuck into the cupboard installation inside! Monday should see the cupboards all but finished, ready for Taylor to come in and finish the waterproofing and start laying the tiles! After getting Lisa’s slab prepared early in the week, we were ready for an early Wednesday morning start! With Luke and his concrete pump required for the pour, it meant an even earlier start for him to get to site and set up before the concrete trucks arrive, which no doubt could become a bit taxing!Evidently!! And then when Mick arrived in his brand spanking new truck on its maiden voyage, which he seemed pretty chuffed about, we got things happening! With 28 cubic metres on the ground in good time, we measured up and ordered the plus load to come! Whilst we finished screeding the concrete we had down, and with not much for Luke to do, he naturally jumped back into the warmth of his truck to escape the early morning chills, and regroup ready for his final tussle with the hydraulic control panel and pump hose, when the concrete arrived!! Now somewhere in between jumping into the warmth of his truck, and psyching himself up for the final pumping session, the excitement must have become a bit overwhelming for our intrepid pump controller, and the back of his eyelids became way more inviting than what we had to offer!

24.01.2022 Crackers and the boys have been stuck into Cameron and Nikki’s frames and trusses, finishing them in readiness for us to get the roof on once the materials land on site! Nothing like challenging the guys with 17 metre long trusses to put up last Monday, with strong winds, a bloody great gum tree out the front, and overhead powerlines, seems having a vacant block next door for Aston Newman Timbers to place the trusses on worked out well! Thankfully the block even dried o...ut enough to be able to get the crane on without getting it bogged, making life happy all round! Winning! Finished Cheryl and Hayden’s kitchen renovation this week, after the guys from CKK installed the metaline splashbacks, The Tile Place finally received the floor tiles so Taylor could lay them (material supply on time is only getting harder, thanks COVID-19) Mick Ryan Painting had his guys in to give the whole kitchen/meals area a bit of paint loving, and the final appliance’s put in place, I think this new area may now be Cheryl’s favourite room in the house, superseding the bathroom we renovated for her a few years ago! Also completed Shelley and Richard’s extension this week, getting it done ready for Shelley to keep going with her internal painting and floor tiling skills, and set up ready for the external painting and paving to be done! Throw in slipping a laundry renovation as well, and these guys have got plenty to keep them entertained for a while to come! The weather forecast predicted Thursday to be the best day for concreting this week before rain set in Friday, so the with the plan in place, we aimed to have Taylor and Erin’s house slab poured and finished by Thursday afternoon!! Always good when a plan comes together with Jake, Finn and Creeky getting the slab prepped ready to pour, Quickmix concrete and exile concrete pumping locked in for concrete supply and placement, and grabbing Chucky for a few hours to help us get it down, we were poured, finished, packed up and off site by mid arvo, job complete! Rad’s has got a start rendering Mark and Bianca’s house this week, while the kitchen will look a whole lot different this time next week once the CKK guys work their magic putting the big jigsaw puzzle spread across the room, together!

22.01.2022 Another solar light installation in a small central passage in Naomi’s house, which doesn’t see a lot of light, even on a bright sunny day as the second picture shows! Whack in a solar light and even on a dull and dreary day outside, the passage illuminated to a level that there’s no need to be switching the light on! Damn near sunbake under it on a bright sunny day I reckon! With Chucky finishing laying and pointing the stone at Shelley and Richard’s, weve been ab...le to move things along. Jake and Finn have finished the flashings on the roof and parapet wall weatherproofing the extension, along with running the stormwater line to the street kerb and replacing the old galv water service, so then the Murph’s Plastering boys could finish sheeting the internal gyprock walls and start flushing! Creeky, meanwhile, has been having a smashing time at Mick and Angela’s bathroom/toilet/laundry renovation! This week will bring some big changes now the major demolition has been done, with the windows being replaced, the underfloor plumbing altered and concrete floor’s getting poured, ready to put the rooms back together again! Jake and Finn have also been busy doing some wall cladding, on the crappier weather days, for the divisional walls at the storage sheds in Bodey circuit! Looking like a perfect week for it next week too! Replaced a couple of hot water services this week at the Lakes Resort Motel for Val and the girls! Unlucky to have two happen at once, but can’t say I wasn’t waiting for that third one to sh#t itself too! Wouldn’t feel right to not do some concrete this week, so managed to get a fix helping Neal out on a driveway pour, once again making the world feel aligned! We installed a strip grate to the front of Lanya’s carport /outdoor entertainment area, to stop the water flowing on through when it rains. With MG Excavations digging the soakage pit, we filled it with rubble and covered it over, after replacing the gasline that said backhoe may have found unexpectedly! Mark and Bianca’s house is now ready for sanding and cornicing Monday, after getting the top coat flushed and dried! Chucky also now turns his attention to starting the stonework on this job, keeping him busy for a couple of weeks! Lucky he’s got some undercover areas to do, looking at the forecast for the next week!

22.01.2022 Crackers, Munnas’s and Dicko tidied up the rest of the carpentry and installed the windows early this week at Cam and Nikki’s house, so Creeky and Zac could wrap the external walls in breather wrap, while Jake and Finn got stuck into running the Hot and Cold 1st fix and gasline. Throw in getting the gutter brackets up, and Steeline delivering the roof, flashings and gutter materials to site, we are ready to get all that material laying on the ground up and on, so we can p...rogress the other trades later next week! But optimistically hoping like hell, that the weather forecasters suck, and get it completely wrong for the next week and we get more cracking weather like this week was! Dropped past Mick and Angela’s bathroom/toilet/laundry reno, which we last left with them to get stuck into their painting, to see how they were travelling! With it looking great, and all but done (and Angela being a little camera shy when it comes to showing her years of painting experience) everything will be able to be tided up next week with the arrival of the glass to Vivid Glass for the showerscreen, that will be able to be installed, and the accessories being fitted off, it certainly is going to be a big and very functional difference to how they will be able to live! Rads is cracking through Mark and Bianca’s rendering, which hopefully should be close on being finished next week, if the remaining stone drys while the weather is warm, and then the weather plays the game again and stays relatively dry, we might be a chance?! No such concerns inside though with Heath and Chappo getting the mountain of carcasses assembled and installed into the kitchen area, with just some benchtops and waterfall ends to arrive to finish off the cupboard installation! Only good part if it does rain, is that crackers can stay dry inside and get stuck into the carpentry 2nd!

22.01.2022 An electrical meter box in an en-suite shower may seem odd, and somewhat problematic, which would be normally right. In this case it’s not the meter box being the problem so much, as trying to get it moved from what is now an inside wall, to the new outside wall. Simple as it might seem, it’s not when you have to deal with a relatively new stupid electrical retailer system in South Australia, that Queensland couldn’t make work (so reverted back to their old system that... worked seamlessly), but the South Australian brains trust implemented it anyway to justify their jobs! Anyway, after between 6-8 weeks from first contact to relocate the meter, and Talia on the phone for 34 minutes and 41 seconds just to get confirmation that it was going to happen this time, after they canceled 3-4weeks ago due to their paperwork stuff up, it was done late this week. Another efficient government sector! But the positive is that at least Robert and Talia’s extension can keep moving along without having to work around the metergate scandal anymore! After pouring Mark and Bianca’s slab Friday last week, this week saw power, telephone and gas lines into the commons trench ready for GT Bobcat to get in and clean up the site ready for Aston Newman Timbers to deliver frames ready for Crackers, Cookie and the boys to start standing! Trusses go on next week getting ready to get a lid on it before it gets seriously wet! Jake and Finn have spent a bit of time down at Westy’s place helping with a semi bathroom reno installing a new shower kit, after doing some preparation work in previous weeks. After encountering every issue associated with renovating an old out of level, out of plumb bathroom, the boys made it happen in the end! Sorted another job for Margie, removing the old indoor gas hot water service, and relocating the new instantaneous gas unit to the outside wall, freeing up a bit more space in the laundry! Bit of pipe work and Dick’s young fella Michael around to install a new external electrical powerpoint, and endless hot water is on tap, literally! CKK got Rita all sorted with installing a new kitchen and laundry lot of cupboards to her unit of which we were able to help out on the plumbing side of things. After altering the pipe work to the laundry and kitchen prior to the new cupboard installations, and then connecting the new sink, mixer and dishwasher, I installed a carbon filter to help the transition from rainwater that she’s used to, to filtered town water, to get rid of the chemical odours and taste in the water. Throw in fixing the leaking basin whilst there, and we move on from another happy camper!

20.01.2022 We got a start at Cam and Nikki’s place this week, with the guys from GT Bobcat getting in and placing the sand pad down on Monday! With the sand down, we were able to get in and set the profiles out, ready for Lambert from MG Excavations to dig the drain and septic hole ready to install the septic! Big thanks to Blocka at Quickmix industries for making a septic available when they’ve been smashed with septic tank orders recently and are juggling availability! With the... septic in the ground we got a start laying the drain while Lambert dug the drain for effluent connection to the STEDS scheme! With the drain laid and effluent connected, Lambert was able to backfill and clean up the site. ready for slab preparation next week, and pouring of it Thursday, everything going to plan! Mick Ryan and his guys have been busy at Robert and Talia’s place painting the new extension external walls, as well as the existing building walls and timber work, giving the whole place a fresh facelift! Meanwhile we’ve got the gutters fitted, and part of the roof on at Mark and Bianca’s place, with the remainder of the roof being finished soon, weather dependant of course!

20.01.2022 Shelley and Richard’s extension is moving along nicely with Chucky getting most of the stonework up, and half of it pointed, while the good weather lasts! Meanwhile Glen and Bryce got a start on hanging the gyprock walls inside, in between going back and forth, flushing Mark and Bianca’s house, and waiting for coats to dry from base coats to top coats! We also got a start at Mick and Angela’s bathroom and laundry renovation, getting stuck into the demolition works. With... the weather turning to crap next week, it should be the perfect job to keep dry and keep productivity happening! Roger, Dave and Josh have been busy at Melissa’s place, replacing damaged timbers, installing beams, levelling floors and then organising the new staircase installation downstairs, all in readiness for the en-suite to begin upstairs! Installed a couple more solar lights too this week, once again making a huge difference to Dean and Trish’s kitchen, and Mark and Alyce’s rumpus room! Never ceases to amaze how well these things work in lighting up those dark areas of a house!

18.01.2022 Got G.T. Bobcat on the go earlier this week preparing the house and shed sand pads at Taylor and Erin’s block, on the same day as receiving council approval for the Concept Design Group plans we had drawn up With the forecast perfect concreting weather predicted for yesterday, the push was on to prepare the shed slab ready to laid. So in true Mt Gambier weather fashion, Finn Creeky and I battled the elements and got wind blown and saturated Thursday afternoon, getting sai...d shed slab prepared, whilst Jake went to the footy in Adelaide! With the climate control back in order Friday, we got the shed slab done and dusted, albeit possibly a little sunburnt! After finishing Naomi and Connach bathroom a few weeks ago, we moved onto relocating the front entrance door to a more suitable location, rather than having to do the 15 metre dash in the pouring rain from the car, to the existing front door just get inside with the groceries! Throw in erecting a new porch and we are well on the way to making things a little more functional for this family! Jake and Finn replaced a slow combustion wood heater at Barry and Lorraine’s, installing a gas/wood lookalike gas heater. With getting gas to the unit proving challenging, a bit of ingenuity, then roof and cupboard removal sorted the problem and got things happening! Now life’s a hellava lot easier for them with the push of a button! Mick and Angela’s bathroom and laundry reno is moving along nicely with the Murph’s plastering boys getting the ceilings and patching of the walls happening, after Dick and Michael has sorted the electrical! Taylor then got the laundry waterproofed ready for the guys from CKK to install the cupboards ready for tiling to begin next week. Finish fitting the spa bath up today, then Roger can frame it out Monday and Taylor is able to waterproof the bathroom ready to tile also! Damn near have both rooms usable at the end of next week, or at least the laundry anyway!

15.01.2022 We recently finished and handed over Taylor and Erin’s house, which ended up being really good timing really, as within a couple of weeks of moving in, a little baby boy made an early entrance to the world, throwing things into minor chaos for Mum and Dad! But what a home he has entered into! Not only are they really nice people, but they will be terrific parents that have got great taste in home decorating! Congratulations Taylor and Erin on not only your beauti...ful housebut especially on Charlie, the first of lots more babies to come to fill up the house! Nangwarry footy club has moved along nicely, after Brody and his guys finished the buildup, we let the stone walls sit and dry till Saturday, when we got the guys from GT Bobcat to start trucking in the fill. Monday saw Johnny and Craig arrive with the bobcat and roller, to start the spreading and compacting of the fill, while the trucks kept delivering the filling sand, along with the water truck helping with the compaction process! This Monday morning will see MG Excavations on site for us to be able to dig the drains, install the grease trap, ready for us to start laying all the wastes and drains required!

15.01.2022 Another productive week at Mark and Bianca’s, getting the remaining concrete down after having GT Bobcat in Monday morning to dig out and do the site preparations required for boxing the driveway, to do the three progressive pours during the week, ready for next weeks backyard blitz to complete the job ready for handover Friday! Murph’s Plastering got busy in Belinda and Ian’s en-suite hanging the gyprock walls early in the week, ready for Taylor to start the waterproofing ...and getting enough done for the guys from CKK to install the vanity unit. Bit more waterproofing today and early next week will see the tiling happening mid next week! Finally had Taylor and Erin’s T Bar Lintels arrive on site this week from Mike Kasparian Engineering, and with a little help from Lambert at MG Excavation, we placed them into position ready for Chucky to finish the stonework so Crackers, Munna’s and Dicko could move onto standing trusses! After the hold up of the lintels getting galv dipped, taking nearly a couple of weeks longer than normal, (who knew that the galv dipping company is getting smashed with caravan companies needing vans done cos of the demand on them)we can now push forward to getting a roof on in the next couple of weeks! Slipped in a few other jobs around the place this week too, and once again had CKK compliment our sublime plumbing skills with their cabinetry at Wayne and Anne’s laundry reno! Also installed Cameron and Nikki’s bath to be framed out ready for Taylor to waterproof next week before the vanities etc get installed!and found some spare time to replace Elizabeth’s old A/C unit as well! Love production!

14.01.2022 612 squadron’s makeover is complete now after we finished up the recladding of the external walls of the front building, Roger refixing the timber surrounds to the windows and doors, Mount Gambier Air Conditioning re installing the condenser units for the air conditioning, Wags and Michael from RJ Electrical re attaching the lights and switches, and the guys at Mick Ryan Painting giving all the timber work to all buildings a refreshing lick of paint! Certainly injected some... vibrancy into the tired old building it had become! Meanwhile, the cadet building at the army barracks is also getting a bit of loving with preparations for the new kitchen going ahead. After MG Excavations opened a trench giving us access to the main drain, we connected the new branch drain in, and ran it to the new kitchen location. Heath and Al from CKK got stuck into the cupboard installation ready for Dick to run some electrical for the new power points, and with the hot water service and kitchen sink installed shortly, we will have this facility ready for use, once restrictions are lifted for the cadets! We also started work at Shelley and Richard’s extension this week with demolition in full swing Creeky got the ball rolling pulling things apart before AAA asbestos solutions were called upon to remove some asbestos! With that issue sorted, it was full steam ahead with Jake and Finn joining the demolition party also, removing everything in preparation for the existing old concrete slab to be lifted. Darren from GT Bobcat made short work of removing the slab, but the ensuing discoveries under the slab were somewhat unexpected, but certainly not insurmountable! We then removed the original footpath that had been built over, but in removing the old extensions foundations, found the old earthenware drain pipes encased in the foundation concrete! So that sorted Friday afternoons work schedule, having to now relay a new drain, so the household would have a functioning toilet for the weekend Problem solved before beer o’clock!

13.01.2022 Mark and Bianca’s house is really coming together now with GT Bobcat having a big clean up, Taylor finishing the tiling, Heath from CKK tidying up the last of t...he cabinetry and the guys from Mick Ryan Painting finishing the painting inside, all in readiness for the plumbing and electrical 2nd fix to happen next week! Jake and Finn got busy relocating an in-situ gas tank, changing over the old rainwater pump for a new model and installing another rainwater tank at Wayne and Anne’s place, just in time to catch some spring rain coming over the weekend and next week!I’m tippin it may just be full by the end of next week! Belinda and Ian’s bathroom and toilet reno continues to progress well this week, now in readiness for Taylor to get cracking on the tiling after the blokes from Murph’s Plastering hung and flushed the wall board, Jake and Finn installed the bath and Roger framed it out so Taylor could waterproof that area so as to have Chappo from CKK install the vanity! Meanwhile Cameron and Nikki’s house is starting to look more and more like a house with Dick and Michael smashing out the electrical, Mt Gambier Air-conditioning installing the reverse cycle A/C unit and ducting, all ready for the internal walls and ceilings to get some loving from the Murph’s Plastering boys! Although having the rainwater tanks delivered already, may been seen as somewhat optimistic, but I’m a tank half full kinda guy!? Shelley and Richard’s extension is all but finished, but with a few added extras being done, like renovating the laundry as well while going, it is really looking the goods! Don’t think anyone could say Shelley’s not a doer, as we got the place to a gyprocked shell essentially with Shelley, and an occasional helping hand from Rich I’m told doing all her own tiling and painting, as well as starting the paving outside, it’s all coming up a treat! Taylor and Erin’s house is in readiness now for the frames to be stood and limestone walls to the alfresco to go up, after getting all materials on site. Over to you guys Crackers and Chucky to get stuck into it! Slipped in a hot water service installation and changeover at Cocky’s place also this week, which required a new gas line installation and as well. With the plumbing and gas work done, the very photogenic Michael was able to install a new external power point to run the unit. Now we just need gas please Greg!

13.01.2022 This week saw a few jobs finished off, with Lisa’s laundry renovation being one. With limited room in the existing laundry, lisa found bench space and storage a little bit of a problem evidently, but she did do a hellava job with what was available. After doing Lisa’s kitchen makeover a couple of years back, it was great to hear from her again to help out with her next project, of which once again, she has excelled herself and selected decor worthy of a glossy magazine spr...ead! The Tile Place tiles and plumbing fixtures complement CKK’s top notch cabinet making, and with a late call up to do Lisa’s painting, while she’s laid up, the boys from Mick Ryan Painting finished the job off nicely! Shelley and Richard’s frames and trusses arrived this week, so between the wet weather, Roger was able to get a start standing frames, and will be able to get cracking next week with the trusses, which will require a bit of precise timing because of the sunny south east weather, when we get to cutting the roof in! Robert and Talia’s extension saw Pete installing the floating floor from Sommerfield’s Carpet this week, along with Mick Ryan’s boys being able to finish the painting after Dave fitted the skirtings over said floating floor, Taylor tidying up the last of the tiling to the new en-suite, and the finish line is in sight for moving in! Also squeezed some other small jobs in this week, including a flickmixer replacement at Dr Macs clinic, and installing isolation points to the water supply under the sink, conforming to plumbing standards, and a whole lot more practical for future maintenance! Dave’s doing a cracking job erecting Mark and Bianca’s shed, and Steeline have now delivered all the gutter and roofing materials ready to get a lid on the house! just gotta slip it in between showers now! See more

10.01.2022 Mark and Bianca’s house is about 3 weeks away from handover with finishing the water and stormwater lines complete and boxing up for the concrete moving ahead! Inside, Pete’s been busy laying the vinyl planks from Somerfield Carpets ready for the carpet next week, and Shane has installed the Dollar Curtain Roller Blinds. Also installed a solar light to the vanity room, once again making a huge difference to what is normally a dark area of a home! Jake and Finn sorted o...ut Melissa’s hot water supply issues with the installation of a new instantaneous hot water service, replacing the old electric unit! Reckon getting more than 3 showers out of the new unit won’t be a problem! Naomi and Connach can now safely come and go out the new front entrance and porch, getting the new concrete steps in place, rather than limestone block steps! Lick of paint Monday, and install a couple of lights after that, and this house has really transformed over the last few months! Marita and Todd also brightened up their passage, with a solar light installation last week, again showing how good a $500 investment can be, in one of those dark areas of a home! Taylor has pretty much got the tiling done at Belinda and Ian’s bathroom and toilet reno, allowing Jake to install the main toilet, taking the pressure off the en-suite toilet usage at all hours! Chucky has been busy getting Taylor and Erin’s alfresco stone work up, with the t-bar lintels the next required item to allow the completion of the stone!! Once Mike has them back from the galvanisers, and the stone is complete, Crackers and the guys can slip into fitting up the trusses, ready to get the roof covered! Helped out with another kitchen and laundry makeover for CKK this week. It really is good to have some nice cupboards in place, to compliment our quality plumbing! It is, however, a little concerning the type of character that we find just hanging around, seemingly levitating, in peoples laundry’s nowadays!

10.01.2022 With a short week ahead, we had to push on with a few jobs, and that was the case with Ben and Taylah’s place. With the envirocycle water treatment plant that had been ordered a few weeks ago with Quickmix concrete, due to arrive on Wednesday, we set the profiles out for the house, before Lambert from MG Excavations arrived to dig the drain....and one bloody big hole to put said treatment plant into!!(get your mind out of the gutter! He had a cup of tea in his hand if... your questioning one of the photos) Throw in a bit of help from Luke from Sharp Cranes in his Franna, getting the unit into the ground was made very easy! Now to get on with laying the drain! Crackers and the guys have been busy at Michael’s place, installing the wall bracing and then standing the trusses this week. Next week will bring the installation of fascia’s and purlins in readiness for the roofing to be done! Bit of a sneak peak of Taylor and Erin’s house with the inside basically done, and just a few things to finish off on the outside next week! Looking forward to seeing the feature stone veneer finished to the front of the house! Jake’s place is really taking shape now with the windows in, wall wrap completed and the 1st fixing of all trades nearly completeall in readiness for the guys from Murph’s Plastering to get cracking Wednesday after Buildpro’s Tuesday Gyprock delivery! And with the delivery of the designer stone for the external walls from Buildpro again, to site, it won’t be long before Chucky arrives to start building the walls!! Like the pictures of Michael’s house previously, there looks like a lot of timber in these two houses! ( that’s because big houses take a lot of timber) And this may be part of the reason there is a current timber shortage!

09.01.2022 For a short week, with all the seasons weather thrown in, it’s still been a productive week! Cam and Nikki’s house is really taking shape with the Murph’s Plastering boys smashing out the gyprock and flushing all ready to be sanded and corniced Monday. The gang at Buildpro have delivered the designer stone to site, ready for Reilly Bricklaying boys to get cracking with the external walls!... Belinda and Ian’s bathroom/toilet reno moved along with CKK installing the benchtop to the vanity and Taylor finishing the waterproofing and getting a start on laying the floor tiles! Big changes by the end of next week with the rooms nearly completed by then! Crackers and the boys have got a start getting the frames up at Taylor and Erin’s house, ready now for Chucky to build the stone up around the Alfresco area to frame height, so the guys can continue putting up the top plate and trusses in readiness to get the roof covered! Mark and Alyce’s B and B got some lovin this week with Roger and myself pulling out the old rotted timber window, and replacing it with a new Vivid Glass aluminium window ready for the customers comfort this weekend! Mark and Bianca’s house continues to get closer to the finish line getting a splash of colour, not only on the inside, but on the outside render too! Crackers, Munna’s and Dicko got stuck into the soffit in the eaves, Jake and Finn started running the down pipes and stormwater and did some of the 2nd fixing, while the electrical 2nd fix also is well on the way with Michael all over it! Next week sees the floor coverings go in and the outside stormwater and water lines being completed ready for the concrete paths, driveway etc to take place before we finish off with the landscaping!

08.01.2022 Another week and another slab down. Found a cracking day to be concreting at Jake and Sarah’s house yesterday, with everything going like clockwork, thanks to there being no rain! With Luke and his concrete pump on site and set up by 6.30, Quickmix concrete arriving with the first load at 6.30, we got stuck into pouring the slab, with a hand from Chucky for a couple of hours again. Poured, finished, boxing stripped, done and dusted by 3pm! Perfect Friday!... The guys from Mick Ryan Painting sorted out the Target Store Shed at the Army Barracks for us, scraping and sanding it down, before giving it a lick of paint, tidying it up to meet Broad Spectrum (the defence forces building and maintenance company) requirements! Finally, after running into one hurdle after another, we have been able to get a start on rebuilding the Nangwarry Football Clubrooms! After traversing many issues found, but nothing that time and paperwork couldn’t sort, we got the final tick of approval to get into some earthworks. Chris from M G Excavations spent the day cleaning the vegetation off the slab area then digging out the footings, ready for us to get the mountains of trench-mesh Buildpro delivered into the ground, ready to be concreted next week! Lisa’s council approval came through, so we got GT Bobcat on the job get the sand pad preparations underway, in readiness for us to get a start on the set out and plumbing in the next couple of weeks! Jake’s house continues to move along nicely with Chucky working his way around the house, getting the walls to scaffold height, while inside the guys from Murph’s Plastering have flushed it out, ready for sanding and cornicing! Got everything tidied up at Ben and Taylah’s house after getting 45 metres of directional boring done under the footpath by the guys from Walker and Gray, allowing the electricians to be able to run the 65 odd metres of 3 phase mains from the pole to the house! With that installed, Brady from GT Bobcat back filled and tidied up around the slab in ready for the delivery of frames and trusses from Aston Newman Timbers Tuesday!

07.01.2022 After late last week and till Wednesday morning this week, Jake and Finn finished the first fix plumbing and gas work, the RJ and JM Waters electricians smashed out the electrical first fix, Crackers and Munnas finished the bulkhead and other carpentry fixings, and Jay Lane sorted the Telstra wiring at mark and Bianca’s house, it allowed the Murph’s plastering boys to go berserk for the following 3 days, insulating and hanging gyprock to have it all but done ready for flush...ing by 4.00 o’clock Friday arvo! Great work guys! Meanwhile at Richard and Shelley’s extension, after we got the roof covered, Creeky got cracking on the wall wrap, ahead of Chucky arriving to start the stone work! A couple of days later and three pallets of stone, of which virtually all the stone had to be unloaded from the trailer and carted around to the back of the house by Creeky, as there is no other access, Chucky’s moving along nicely getting the parapet wall half way up on Libby’s boundary. Thankfully Libby is one of those great neighbours who are happy to help us out by allowing us to use her driveway, making our life so much easier doing the extension! Thanks again Libby! Finally got to Brendan’s place to remove his old gas wall furnace and install his new wood fire! Always nice to receive a message that night from one happy customer showing how well the jobs working!

07.01.2022 Perfect weather to start the week off, which made cutting in Robert and Talia’s extension roofing, soooo much easier! We were delayed a week because of the previous weeks winter blast, but Monday we were able to cut the existing roofing iron back to allow Roger and Dave to extend the new truss top cords to tie into the existing roofing structure! With that done, we could lay the roof sarking, new colorbond roofing and fit off all the flashings to weatherproof for the weat...her to come later in the week! Add in wrapping the wall frames with sizilation, getting the first fix plumbing and electrical installed and windows fitted Friday, we are now ready for Chucky to start the stone work Monday morning! Quick trip up to Penola Wednesday to fix a leaking roof for Deb, by installing 2 new roofing sheets and removing old hot water solar panels will sort out that raining sensation from the ceiling inside the bedroom! Mary’s tenant in her rental property will be somewhat more comfortable now that she can have a warm shower, after changing over the leaking hot water service! Note the new copper work??? Very sexy if I do say so myself probably only really appreciated by fellow plumbers! Installed another solar light recently at Leanne’s place. Even with the darker timber in the kitchen absorbing some of the light, it really helps out brightening up the kitchen, proven by the shadow created under the overhead cupboards! These solar lights are surprisingly affordable and very effective, starting at $500 fully installed for the base model!

07.01.2022 Now that nature is starting to change tact in the Sunny South East, and throwing up unexpected changes to the forecast weather, we’ve still been able to maintain progress with the works we have happening! After Jake and Finn laid the drain and underfloor plumbing to Ben and Taylah’s house, we called on Paul from Borderline Concrete Kerbing with his excavator and truck to help out with the excavation issues that a Class M site brings with the engineers footing design! ...With Paul and Finn finishing up digging the footings (with the best Tonka Toy ever) saving us a hellava lot of hard yakka and time, we were able to push ahead laying the plastic, mesh and finish the rebate boxing ready to pour! With Luke and his concrete pump on site,a helping hand arriving from Chucky and Quickmix concrete keeping the trucks coming, we were able to get the 40 plus cubic metres of concrete down, between unforecast, ill timed rain which maintained it’s annoying frequency, till mid afternoon! Jake’s place continues to move along nicely with Buildpro delivering the insulation and gyprock, along with the designer stone for the external walls, thus the guys from Murph’s Plastering got stuck into insulating and hanging the walls and ceilings, while Chucky got cracking on the outside walls! Thinking last Saturday with the good weather forecast, would be an ideal opportunity to lay Jake’s shed slab, just a cruisey 5 cubic metres of concrete to lay, so Jake and I prepped and poured it before he headed off to footy! All going to plan, should be finished by mid arvo just in time for a couple of beers at the pub to finish off the day! That’s about the time the wheels fell off, or more to the point the sky leaked....multiple times for the rest of the arvo making getting a good finish, impossible! Spat it by 10.30pm, went to bed!topped at 6.30am finished by 10.45am! nice shed floor now! Crackers, Cookie, Munna’s and Dicko got Michael’s frames and trusses sorted and finished this week, ready to measure up the iron in readiness to whack the lid on it in the next couple of weeks! Jake and Finn once again did their thing, getting the drain and underfloor plumbing installed at Jake and Sarah’s house, while Creeky got a start on the boxing working towards pouring Friday next week, weather gods playing nicely! We also got Mid City Motel sorted prior to a fully booked out weekend ahead, when room 16s, 14 year old hot water service decided to give up the ghost! Nothing a last minute changeover couldn’t sort after Norm’s Plumbing Supplies fortunately had one in stock!

06.01.2022 Gutters on and roof all go (weather gods playing the game) now, since Crackers, Munna’s and Dicko have finished the frames and trusses at Taylor and Erin’s house! Creeky has started the wrapping but that may need a little bit of attention again, after a few windy days took its toll in places! Nothing like doing things twice! Couple of busy weeks coming up on this job to be ready for the boys from Murph’s Plastering to start hanging on the 30th Meanwhile B...elinda and Ian’s en-suite reno is very much on the way with the guys from CKK installing the vanity after Taylor had prepared with the waterproofing, enabling him to get stuck into the tiling! Apart from the showerscreen on order, it will be nearly ready for its maiden run! Cameron and Nikki’s house now has cupboards installed by Heath and Chappo from CKK , after a couple of big days smashing it out! With benchtops arriving Tuesday, the baton will be handed to Taylor to get cracking on the wet area tiling, as well as the big living areas floors for the next fortnight! Just need a bricklayer or 5 on site this week to get the walls up and we will be looking good!Know anyone that can help out there Meataxe?! Jake also helped Liana out this week, replacing her old toilet suite with a new unit! Just another little job we slipped in while Finn’s off on holidays........at Tonsley tafe campus learning how to become a plumber!

06.01.2022 Belinda and Ian’s bathroom reno has progressed far enough for it to come into use, even if the showerscreen is only a temporary set up till the new one arrives and is installed! Therefore, onto the en-suite renovation we go with Jake, Finn and Creeky getting stuck into the demolition and changing of the pipe work etc, ready for the guys at Murph’s plastering to start putting it all back together again on Monday morning, by starting to hang the gyprock!! Also started p...ouring and finishing Mark and Bianca’s concrete paths to their house, which was somewhat of a challenge down the side of the house, with very limited room to manoeuvre! Good thing our nimble goat like climbing abilities allowed for us to traverse the retaining rock wall, and get the concrete done and dusted Meanwhile inside, Pete was putting the finishing touches to the carpet and vinyl, basically completing the inside ready for cleaning before handover in a couple of weeks!! Just gotta lay a couple of metres of more black concrete next week to the driveways and alfresco areas!? Fixed a few things up at Garry’s motel this week replacing a basin that somehow just broke, and a couple of external doors that had the screws pull out of the hinges on one and the other developed a crack in it!Still amazes me how disrespectful of other people’s property some members of society can be! You really can’t fix stupid, but stupid should also hurt! Jake and Finn finished the week off, 2nd fixing the plumbing to the bathroom, of which we poured the new concrete floor a few weeks ago, to a farmhouse Roger has been helping renovate! Another job sorted!

06.01.2022 Tamika’s slab went down this week, taking advantage of the fine weather while we can! Preparation of slabs is fairly enjoyable when your working in calm conditions, where laying out the plastic and taping it up doesn’t require laying objects all over the place, just trying to prevent the wind picking up the plastic and sending it to Port Mac! Educational slab this one too for Jake and Finn, as we went old school where the entire slab was poured using wheelbarrows an...d chutes! Though, Chucky and myself have done many like this in the past, it’s still a reminder of how good Luke and his concrete pump are! Lucky it was only 20 odd cubic metres! With Nangwarry footy club founds down last week and curing, it was time to get Bruhn Stone to load the site ready for the buildup to commence! The boys from Brody’s Bricks are going to be onsite Monday morning to get cracking getting the stone up ready for the slab to be filled the following week allowing us to install the plumbing before finally getting the concrete down! Here’s hoping the weather holds out till we get it done! Big thankyou to Bruce at Bruhn’s for organising the stone to be supplied at a discounted rate to help out with the rebuild! Ben and Taylah’s house continues to progress with Roger, Dave and Jon getting the trusses on, facia’s up and valleys and purlins on the go! A measure up of the roofing materials next week and it won’t be far off having a lid put on! Slipped in a little bit of concreting at the Bruhn Stone Quarry, tidying up and making access better to the site office for staff and customers! Chucky tidied up the last of the designer stone external walls at Jake’s place this week, while Crackers framed out the bath, locked the house up and got the wet areas second fix done internally, ready for Taylor to start his waterproofing prior to CKK starting to fit the cabinetry later next week! Michael’s house is really taking shape with Chris and the boys getting stuck into the gutters and sheeting of the roof! With the weather playing the game, hopefully the next week should see it covered ready for the windows arrival Thursday next week! Came across a very unusual phenomena and creature last week, and one that is very rarely seen, let alone captured and documented in the suburban landscape! In trying not to startle this creature in his unusual habitat, required slow and stealthy movements to enable documentation of such a momentous occasion! Finding an electrician using a spade was astounding, but to find one using a crowbar as well, was nothing short of incredulous! Finally capturing this event, validated my 30 plus year search, covering so much of the countryside in search of this event, and being told I’d have more chance of seeing a Tantanoola Tiger in the wild, has now proven to all those doubters out there, that it is possible! I can sleep easy now with this knowledge that it is possible!

05.01.2022 Good week to be getting stuck into the indoor work, which as happens, was pretty fortunate, as it had to be done anyway!? Mick and Angela’s bathroom/toilet/laundry renovations moved ahead with the cutting in of new doorways, having altered the underfloor plumbing, we prepared and poured the concrete floors, had Roger and Dave removing and replacing windows and framing out old openings with Chucky removing stonework to be cutting in the new windows. In between renovat...ions, Jake and Finn continued cladding the divisional walls in the storage sheds, which I reckon they were pretty happy about, being able to dodge the weather of the week which outweighed the monotony of wall after wall cladding! Taylor’s got a start on waterproofing Mark and Bianca’s house wet areas, getting ready to begin laying the 2 pallets of tiles Richard and Brodie from The Tile Place so kindly got out of the comfortable warm shop to deliver for us this week! I guess that’s the price you pay for being so busy, cos your good at your job! While outside, Chucky also got a start on the stonework, until he was stolen away to do another couple of jobs, shown in the previous pictures! Last Saturday also saw another solar light installed at Christine’s place, brightening up her internal small passage! The before and after pictures certainly tell the story!

05.01.2022 Typically, we would knock over a roof and gutter installation like Taylor and Erin’s in a few days!...... Not in 2020! The longest ever roof installation between wind, rain, more wind, running out of sheets and needing extra materials, wind, trade school attendance, flue (not coronavirus?!) and not to mention wind, and then a little enforced lockdown created by some lying little wanker who gets away with it, according to the law (but I’m sure he and his... employer will be held accountable by some others in society), but anyway, we will done come Monday! Now we are pretty much closed up with Creeky and Jake finishing the wrapping, and Crackers and Crackers junior installing the windows, Jake finishing the plumbing first fix and gas line, we are gunna be smashing out the electrical first fix, air conditioning installation, and phone line install this coming week, ready for Murph’s plastering to get cracking the following week with the gyprocking! Meanwhile Cameron and Nikki’s house progresses well with the boys from CKK finishing the cupboards, Taylor finishing the waterproofing and starting to lay the tiles, and the guys from Reilly bricklaying getting started for one day........ thanks again to one lying teenage sh#the#d who needs to be held accountable !!.....but happy days come Monday when the boys can get cracking once again!

05.01.2022 Another busy week moving jobs along and getting new ones started. Mark and Bianca’s house and shed construction was given the green light, so late last week after we put a few pegs in the ground, the guys from GT Bobcat got in and got the two sand pads down and prepped! That allowed for us to set up the profiles and get cracking on the shed slab, with Creeky getting stuck into the boxing and slab preparation in readiness for Jake and I to get it down this morning, and hope...fully done before the rain comes! cos that’s what Saturday mornings are for! Meanwhile, with Paul spreading the filling sand on the dingo and Bruce unloading it out of the truck with the excavator, so not to make a mess on Libby’s driveway that she has so kindly let us use to access Richard and Shelley’s extension at the rear of their house, we’ve been able to get that ready for slab preparation as well! Throw in a minor plumbing problem with the old rusted out galv pipes from the existing bathroom being revealed, Jake and Finn cut out the floor and tiles, removed the old pipes and trap and rectified the issue, ready to get on with the slab next week! Also slipped up to Kalangadoo to get a start on Elizabeth’s bathroom reno, with Jake and Finn removing the old concrete floor and plumbing, then relaying the underfloor plumbing, installing the plastic and mesh so we could get the new concrete laid and finished, ready for the Murph’s plastering guys to start hanging the new walls!

05.01.2022 Recently finished fixing up Tim and Cindy’s carport that was in need of some TLC! Rusted out C section and posts required a bit of Mike Kasparian Engineering magic, to make up some brackets for us to fit, to support the new treated pine timber beams we were putting in, along with new guttering! Throw in removing the old swinging doors, framing out and installing a new remote Rolla door, some new clear laserlite cladding to keep the weather at bay, but allowing the light in...to the living areas, it’s now a much more user friendly area! After getting stuck into Naomi and Conners bathroom renovation Monday morning, we’ve made good progress this week to be ready for Shultzy to get straight into the tiling this coming Monday! Jake and Finn has a wow of a time tearing everything apart, converting the wall tiles and concrete floor into a trailer load of rubble, then set about reinstalling the new underfloor plumbing, as well as changing the hot and cold water lines. That done, Shultzy tidied up the render to the walls, we installed the bath and had Roger frame it, and Chappo from CKK install the new vanity all after waterproofing was completed! Should be ready for use again by the end of this week coming! Robert and Talia’s extension is still moving along nicely with Chucky getting through the external limestone walls, allowing us to be able to finish the new hot and cold water lines as well as run the new gas line, so as to be able to relocate the hot water service to the new outside wall, from what has become an internal wall! Wags and Michael did the trick with finishing the electrical wiring and that in turn has allowed Glen and Bryce to begin the gyprock inside as well! Smashing it out nicely

04.01.2022 Cracking week for doing Cam and Nikki’s slab this week! Mid July in the south east, who knew it was possible to have consecutive days with clear blue skies, and to be able to finish a slab from start of pouring to taking the trowelly off in 7.5 hours, even with a bloody great gum tree on the front northern side of the block leaving us in shade for the majority of the day.....wearing shorts and a T-shirt! Another reason to stick around here, other than being... COVID free! Mark and Bianca’s house continues to progress with the gutters and majority of the roof on, crackers and the boys getting the windows in and Creeky finishing the wrapping, we should be on track to have all the 1st fixings done ready for Murph’s boys to get cracking on the gyprocking Wednesday week! Shelley and Richard’s extension is ready for the roof to be cut in next week, once again taking advantage of another week of predicted good weather! Also fitted in a few other smaller jobs in and around concreting and roofing, including replacing Julie’s softener so now she can enjoy soft water, giving silky smooth skin and hair, whilst saving a fortune on shampoo, conditioner and soap!

04.01.2022 With a short week due to the long weekend, we had the challenge of squeezing 5 days into 4 to enable us to be able to get Mark and Bianca’s house slab poured and finished before the weather sets in for a few days, along with doing quite a few other jobs along the way. But with relatively good, albeit it cold mornings, we were able to get the underfloor plumbing completed Tuesday, to be able to get Johnny from GT Bobcat in to backfill and trim up the sand pad area for us re...ady to start forming up the slab. Fast forward to Friday, with lot of work attended to on the slab and elsewhere, we had Luke with his concrete pump, Quickmix concrete with their trucks, and Chucky on site helping us getting the concrete poured, we had it laid within three hours! Then it becomes the waiting game for the concrete to set, even with quickset added the same as last weeks extension slab, it takes its time due to the cold! That said, with some sun and a little breeze to get it going off, I enjoyed the sunset while finishing the slab right on dusk, and it come up a treat! Stand the wall frame Monday for the electricians to mount the meter box on, ready for power on site next week, a site clean up, and Aston Newman timbers with a delivery of frames and trusses and we will be set for Crackers and Cookie to get stuck into the carpentry!

04.01.2022 Love it when a plan comes together, literally! From the concept plan I’d drawn for Mick and Angela’s bathroom/toilet/laundry renovation to the final and completed project, it has come up an absolute treat! I’m not suggesting that it was Angela’s eye for detail and decorating that has made this come together so brilliantly, and not Mick’s but she is the painter and paint consultant in the family?! But credit where credit is due, Mick you have done a goo...d job on the painting you were allowed to do under strict supervision!? Seriously though, it really is a brilliant transformation to both the bathroom and laundry, of which you guys were fantastic to work with and have done a great job with the material choices and have accessorised perfectly! Cameron and Nikki’s house continues to progress well, albeit battling between wet and windy days to be able to get the roof on. One more good day early next week will see it all finished and tidied up ready for the guys from Murph’s plastering to start gyprocking Wednesday. But it hasn’t hampered the plumbing ,electrical and phone line first fix, with the reverse cycle air con being installed Monday, all in readiness for sheeting to begin! Also slipped in a bit of plumbing for the guys at CKK for a kitchen renovation they are doing at Matilda’s house. As hesitate as she was for a start, after putting up with the old kitchen for decades and raised many kids through it, turns out she is one delighted lady with the results, even though there is still a few things to finish off. Nice 86th birthday present as it happened timing wise too! Mark and Bianca’s house also had the cupboards etc finished by the guys at CKK this week, while Crackers and Munnas’s cleaned up the second fix carpentry inside too, which meant the boys from Mick Ryan Painting could get stuck into the woodwork preparation and taping up ready to paint out the ceilings Monday! Found a nice place for Creeky to hide inside out of the weather Thursday, pulling apart Belinda and Ian’s bathroom and toilet for a bit of remodelling! Seemed like a good idea Friday for Jake and Finn to be continuing inside changing up the plumbing which didn’t seem to bother the guys to much which may have had something to do with the fact the ceiling is staying in place, and in said ceiling is a 4 bulb heat lamp!?

04.01.2022 Richard and Shelley’s extension slab prepared and poured this week, albeit a hand troweled finish on dark, as even with a double shot per metre of quickset, no sun or wind makes it hard for concrete to set in cold weather! who woulda thought! The job certainly has been made so much easier because of the access made available to us, by Shelley and Richard’s fantastic neighbour Libby! Libby has kindly allowed us access to the property from her driveway, as there i...s basically no access to the rear of Richard and Shelley’s house by anything other than a wheel barrow. We certainly appreciate being able utilise this, as the job would have taken three times as long if it was all done by said barrows! Taylor got stuck into waterproofing Robert and Talia’s wet areas, and then got a start on laying the tiles, after the boys from CKK finished installing the cupboards for the new en-suite and laundry! By the end of next week, things will really be taking shape! After finishing Mark and Bianca’s shed slab last Saturday before the rain came, this week saw us get a start on the house slab. Lambert from MG Excavations had his hands full digging the drain for the house slab, as after digging through the filling sand and top soil (a foot maybe) it was all limestone, making for very slow, and bone jarring, going! With that sorted, it was time to get a start on laying the drain, with only the branches to be done now! Finish the underfloor plumbing, backfill and prepare the slab to pour next Friday, is the plan at the moment!

03.01.2022 Chucky finished up Mark and Bianca’s stonework this week, with Rad’s getting in and brushing it down to help get the stone drying out, ready to render! While inside the guys from CKK have got a start on the cupboard installation while Taylor and Jake have got stuck into the tiling! Mick and Angela’s reno skipped along well this week also, getting the spa bath fitted up last Saturday, ready for Roger to frame it out Monday so Taylor and Jake could get the waterproofing and... tiling cracking this week too! Set out Taylor and Erin’s house this week and got Lambert from MtG Excavations on the job to dig the trenches required ready for Jake and Finn to lay the drain and underfloor plumbing! With it finished, tested and drawn up, and Creeky having some boxing around for the slab prep, Johnny from GT Bobcat backfilled the trench and trimmed up the sand pad ready for the formwork and slab preparation to happen next week! Slipped in a little concreting job too for Wayne cleaning up a little area for his skip bin to sit, and to make it easier for the truck loading the bin to gain access! Nice day, gotta pour concrete somewhere?! Hayden and Cheryl’s kitchen is getting a complete make over too. After Jake, Finn and Creeky gutted the old kitchen, we adjusted the plumbing, got Michael from Richard Waters electrical in to alter the wiring, the boys from Murphs Plastering to fix up the plasterboard ready for the guys from CKK to install the new kitchen! 2nd fixed the plumbing and electrical and we have a functioning kitchen again, whilst we wait for the arrival of the tiles for the floor and the metaline splash backs! Fitted up another solar light, this time for Marie in her windowless spare attic type room, again showing how good these things are! Make a huge difference and that is the smallest unit available!

02.01.2022 Crackers and the boys have been stuck into the carpentry on Mark and Bianca’s frames and trusses this week, getting the job done ready for the roofing to go on! Would like to be getting it all covered next week, but by the weather forecast I reckon we may have to be a bit patient for this to be happening! Few other jobs happening this week, but with the beautiful day forecast for Friday, we changed plans to get Robert and Talia’s paths poured and finished! This tim...e of the year dictates if the suns gunna be shining, you gotta be either pouring concrete, or roofing, and at that time, nothing else matters! Taylor’s also tidied up all the tiling inside the laundry and toilet, allowing Jake and Finn to be able to fit off the new toilet inside the extension. To the laymen, this probably doesn’t mean a whole lot, as it’s just part of the process! But this is a significant milestone for this family, as it means no more midnight, or early hour trips outside to the site toilet in the pouring rain or freezing cold nights, to simply relieve ones self!Or trying to keep little people’s pulled down pants off the wet and dirty floor that a site toilet can’t help but to succumb to, when going to said toilet! But in saying that, there may be an element of sadness involved with moving the party inside, as evidently on the nice clear nights, it can be quite therapeutic leaving the toilet door open, and staring at the stars! Or so I’m lead to believe! Finished off the roofing and stormwater at Roger’s job this week also, ticking off another job from the list! Also sorted Sharna’s, now you see it, now you don’t chimney, tidying up the roof line for her! Also found and sorted Belinda’s leak, which was the cause of a letter from SA Water notifying of excessive water usage, with a cracked poly tee being the culprit! New tee installed, problem solved!

02.01.2022 Another house completed this week, with the finishing touches being applied to Mark and Bianca’s home, ready to move in and start living their dream, which started with a vision over 12 months ago, while still living in and trying to sell their previous home! And what a beautiful home it is, which still seems to understate the finished result, as their fixture and decor selections throughout the home really are superb! And you always know how good a home has come up and... been presented, when the variety of trades and workers all comment on how good the finished result is, bearing in mind, these people see finished houses every other day! Paul from Borderline concrete kerbing got the ball rolling Sunday knocking over the kerbing for us, so Jake and Finn could get stuck into finishing the pop up sprinkler system to the front and back yards this week, allowing Creeky to get the weedmat and bark in place to start the landscaping process! Meanwhile, Greg and the guys from Do It Yourself fencing smashed out getting the fences and gates in place, so we could start rolling out Adam’s (from Blue Lake Turf Supplies) early morning delivery of pallets of turf to site, to complete the outside picture! Even though Bianca had been very industrious cleaning areas as she went, before moving belongings in during the week, Tassie and his team from Apec Cleaning went in and finalised the cleaning process with meticulous care, completing the last piece of the puzzle of which set the sparkle to this beautiful house! With all this culminating by weeks end, once again it was with great pride and pleasure that we were able to hand the keys over to Mark, Bianca and the kids, to enjoy their beautiful new home, and wish them all the best for the future!

01.01.2022 Brody was able to get a start on Nangwarry footy clubs buildup this week, albeit with a bit of a false start due to Monday’s reminder that winter is just around the corner! With the weather looking a fair bit more hospitable next week, the buildup should be completed about mid week, and then allowing it to dry for a few days, we will then see the guys from GT Bobcat on-site Monday the following week, to begin filling and preparing the slab! Michael’s house continues to pr...ogress well with Creeky and Finn getting the wall wrap on, and Crackers and Landon starting on the window and door frame installation! With the good weather forecasted for next week, Chris will be finishing the roof, allowing for the electrical and plumbing 1st fix, along with the other services to be installed in the next couple of weeks, in readiness for the guys from Murph’s Plastering to get cracking at the end of the month! Roger, Dave and Jon finished up Ben and Taylah’s frames and trusses early this week, allowing us to get some gutter brackets and gutters on! A few more lengths of gutter to mitre and finish off, and we can get stuck into putting the lid on! After planning to pour Lisa’s slab Friday this week, a readjustment of the plan came into play Tuesday, after Monday’s monsoonand the forecast not really looking like playing nicely, we reset the goalposts to Wednesday next week, which looks like being a cracker of a day! Fingers crossed the weather forecasters are on their game next week!
