24.01.2022 Quick tip for the week. Even though its winter, it is a good idea to run your aircon at least once a week for a few minutes to circulate the oil that is in the aircon system. It helps prevent any seals drying out and leaking when it comes summer time. And you can have the aircon button ON while your heater is on.

24.01.2022 Group special. I will take $10 off each vehicle service if you have 2 or more cars in the same location at the same time to be serviced. Maybe ask some people at your work place if they need there car serviced? My prices are for a basic service on all 4cyl cars is normally $95. It includes new engine oil and filter, topup of all other fluids, windscreen washer additive. And inspection of the following: tyres, starting and charging system, battery, suspension, belts, hoses, cooling system, driveline, leaks, lights, air conditioning and more. And all done at your house or workplace. Some vehicles need a higher synthetic grade oil which will incure a small surcharge, but you will be notified before hand. 22.01.2022 Quick tip for the week. It's a good idea to check your tyre pressures around once a month if you can remember. For a guide on what pressures you should have in your car or 4wd I would say around 34psi for the fronts and 32psi for the rear tyres. Most tyres can handle more than that if your carrying heavy loads. And don't forget to check your spare tyre too. Keeping the correct tyre pressure can save you lots of money in fuel and excess tyre wear from to low or to high pressures.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just letting you know how I run my business. I work full time in the mines on a FIFO roster. And I run my mechanic business on my days off. For awhile I was doing it for 3 days on my break, but it got a bit much. I have a beautiful wife and 2 handsome young boys which I was missing spending time with, thats why I took some time off. So I have now cut back to 1 day, and maybe 2 days every 3 weeks. So if you wanted to book in for anything it is always good to plan ahead and see when I have availability next. Its another reason why my rates are cheaper, because it is not my main source of income.

15.01.2022 How's everyones air conditioning going in your car? I would like to point out that there are alot of people doing cheap regassing on cars lately since the price of the gas has gone up with the carbon tax. I found out that they are either using the wrong gas which is illegal and dangerous cause its flammable. Or they are just topping up the gas, which could cause over charging the system creating damage to it. Also to be able to do any work on automotive air conditioning you have to be licenced and authorised to be able to purchase and handle the gas, which I am. I don't just regas a system, I find why it doesn't work first and repair it then regas it. I charge $120 to replace any minor o-ring or valve leaks and regas the system. And I do it at either your house or work place, where ever it suits you. Also on weekends or after hours.

13.01.2022 Do you own a late model diesel 4wd? Well most likely it has a EGR emissions cooler on it. What that does it pumps exhaust gas back into your intake manifold. While it is somehow good for the ozone, it's not doing any good to your engine. Here are some photos of a Ford Ranger.

13.01.2022 Today I found myself doing cleaning of a different kind! I don't know what it was but I found cleaning engine parts to be strangely therapeutic (maybe I was just enjoying my own company while both boys were sleeping!) Adding apprentice mechanic to my list of skills, there's nothing this stay at home mummy can't do! Hope you're having a trouble free Thursday!

10.01.2022 During tough economic times, it is a common temptation to extend the time between services on the car in an attempt to save money. 08.01.2022 Is your aircon feeling like its got not much airflow and not cold? It might be because your evaporator Is blocked like this one. Usually your aircon will feel cold for a little bit and then feel like normal to hot air. Thats usually because the evaporator has iced up from no airflow. After I repaired this aircon I had the aircon cooling the air down to 9 degrees Celsius.

07.01.2022 Have you got some new goodies for your car that you want fitted? I have experience in fitting a large range of items ranging from head units, spot lights, work lights, UHF, towbars, bull bars, etc etc. I also have don't alot of low voltage setups on camper trailers like fitting strip LED lights through out the tent and storage areas, installing 12volt cig or engel sockets to power accessories, mounted and wired up solar panels, wired up invertors with deep cycle batteries. This list goes on and on. If you got something needing done and not sure if I can do it, just ask.

07.01.2022 This is some before and after shots of a customers car. I fitted a lift kit with new rotors and pads front and rear with a full major service including all oils and filters before it got its RWC for registration.

06.01.2022 How faded are your headlights? With faded headlights it is quite difficult to see at night. I can restore them like these for $120/pair or if your get a service done at the same time i will do it for $100.

06.01.2022 For sale is my 1999 Suzuki carry van. Has factory A/C (very cold). Only 87000km's genuine Km's with log books. Timing belt done. Things that i have replaced in the last 6 months: Starter motor, clutch, tyres, plugs, coil packs, leads, Aircon evaporater, wheel bearing, windscreen. As you can see it has been used for my mobile mechanic and aircon business. I have fitted a Chrome Air compresor and hot dog air tank under the floor panel. It is attached to a 10m air reel. The airc...on system has had a major overhaul and works well. With all my tools in it i was getting average 6-7lt/100kms around town on fuel. I have 2 tool boxes mounted in the rear and the air compressor and can sell with the van for the right price. It will come with rwc to Queensland residents only, or if you want it cheaper with out rwc let me know. I have seen these setup as campers and are very cheap to run. 03.01.2022 Quick tip for the week. Giving your car a simple basic service every 10000kms can prevent ALOT of problems in the future like oil leaks. Your not the only one that does it too. I have many customers that miss services and have oil leaks showing up around the engine. Also if you serviced it regularly you wouldn't be slugged with a massive bill at the end with other items due. Every few services something different might need changing on your car like spark plugs, or fuel filter, even timing belts. So instead of all of them overdue at the same time and costing hundreds of dollars, it could only be a couple hundred extra every so often and not at once.
